That’s a pretty in-depth analysis of his own injuries by Falst. Dainix looks so worried as he lists all the ways this could be worse. I wonder what the lacrima thinks of all this.
Also, what exactly is Dainix holding? Is it a tiny mortar and pestle? A pouch and an Everstone? I can’t figure it out for the life of me.
I think Panel 4 should be included in that list too tbh

@Mint in panel six it looks like a little pouch with a flap in Dainix’s hands, perfect fot tucking away in a sash or in pants.
Calling it that the thing in the pouch is a fidget toy.

I assume it’s a pouch to carry medicine of some kind. Like maybe painkillers or antibacterial or something?

I love this page, Falst’s smirk and Dainix’ hyperbolic repetition of tactical is everything I needed today.
One question tho: why isn’t there a risk of infection? That hilarious list of injuries seems like quite a risk of infection to me… anyone with more fantasy-medical knowledge care to enlighten me?
In real life, bone breaks and fractures rarely get infected (~1%) because they usually don’t break the skin.
My guess is that he just broke a lot of bones, nothing actually punctured his skin, so therefore no risk of infection.

Dragons are, in fact, great.
I second this opinion wholeheartedly.
And most of the dragons that are present in stories are either axiomatically evil or good (usually the former), and/or are divine or spiritual. I want to see more stories where dragons are normal, mortal creatures, with morals that vary from individual to individual. (For anyone with a similar want, I recommend the webcomic Vainglorious, by Kelly Bull; the dragons there are just people of a different species.)
Wings of fire does the same thing. Granted most of the characters are dragons so…..
I’ve heard of the Wings of Fire series, but never got around to reading any of the books. Maybe I should start looking… (Also just remembered another story that I like that fits my mortal dragon criteria: The Dragon Prince.)

Dainix doesn’t seem to like how nonchalantly logical Falst is being about his myriad of injuries; methinks he’s starting to wonder how often Falst has had to live with similar injuries, or worse, in the past.
So Panel 6 is basically what happens when an autistic person who’s ended up developing an unhealthy tolerance for pain (e.g. sensory/interoception issues + medical/societal/familial gaslighting) casually lets it slip to a new neurotypical friend. Source: take a wild guess…
