finding out the hard way that a really good movement speed does not translate to a really good swim speed :c

So like are these messenger birds programmed to always hit people on the back of their head?
Nah, it’s just funnier that way. Borbs be like “Think fast, chucklenuts!”
they really saw Kendal not die and said “woah, rude”
If you’re waiting for him to drown, you’re going to be here a while

Alt-text: this part of the chapter isn’t funny but some part of me simply cannot help myself with the timing of these panels

I can see everyone is thoroughly enjoying their island vacation.
And he’s about to get a spellbird saying “I hate this island.”
Omg the smack in the back of a head in the middle of a boss fight DID happen hahaha
Chat being rowdy during a boss fight, thus distracting the STREAMer.

Can we appreciate the flash of light in the distance in the second to last panel just before the bird swoops in.
It’s like a space laser acquiring its target XD
Vros: Come now, I’ve waited long enough! I know it’s something new to you, godling, but it’s called a bath.
We’ve seen Kendal struggle against foes before, but never so casually and playfully; even Tynan at his most theatrical was still riled up and hurt at times. I was worried the spellbird could distract Kendal, but since Vros is insistent on play-fighting and pulling their punches, it shouldn’t be too big of a deal.
At least this is proof that Kendal can fight in water, and swim for that matter, that’s good to know. But Vros is both adapted to being underwater AND not taking things seriously; with an opponent like that it’s hard to tell from this fight how good or poor his skill level is.
