Erin, come on dude, just lie that it doesn’t hurt instead of making sure Dainix knows that you’re enduring pain on purpose when neither of you can do anything about it.
In terms of sheer magnitude, going into the storm, *especially* without being supervised by someone with an ounce of common sense. In terms of his own incompetence, busting his own soul channels when explicitly told not to.
For being an elemental magus, he really does not have a good track record with magic.
So perhaps more accurately, his worst mistake was thinking it was important that he fixes the storm right there, right then, rather than going back to the academy, presenting his findings, and asking their opinion on the matter.
Erin, buddy, I would argue that you trying to do things alone is what’s getting you into this mess. You don’t need to, like… keep doing things more alone to atone for your failures. It’s giving Catholic.
That being said, please continue to suffer this solitary burden so that you and Dainix don’t drown in the very near future, but do reflect on your words and deeds once you aren’t piloting the world’s flimsiest bathosphere.
…With Erin, “unpleasant” could mean anything from ‘a slight discomfort’ to ‘I feel like knives are being driven into my chest, but it’s cool, don’t worry about it.’ Don’t think I missed that buildup of sweat on your face again either, kiddo.
Today may be May the Fourth, but since There’s Always a Bigger Fifth, soon we’ll see the Revenge of the Sixth, Because This is the May! The May of the Fandalore…
Dainix is faring better than I expected! So far, at least, although he’s tempting the universe with that “we won’t be staying long” bit. Erin, on the other hand, is Suffering, and I question his assertion that it’s not damaging to cast in his state. It’s not damaging immediately, perhaps. But it might inhibit his soul’s healing, over time.
We also know the dragons are out there. One of them’s going to show up at some point, I’m sure of it.
My guess is that the more you cast after an overchannel, the longer it takes to recover from it, but once you recover you’re probably fine. Perhaps you become more susceptible to future overchanneling, although hopefully if so that’s only temporary.
Based off of Jolon’s chimeras and the general chimeric plague, I doubt that it would be safe to try on anyone but Alinua herself. It did work on the Northern Wyrm, but she’s a divine exception.
I can’t wait for Erin to blow a gasket when he learns Alinua is able to withstand full shapeshifting, which is apparently notoriously difficult for even regular Life mages to survive.
I do hope that Selach still has some of those wind lacrima respirators like she tried to put on Alinua before she transformed. Or maybe Alinua could grow a mossy mask to photosynthesize right in the other’s faces.
Speaking from experience, Erin has clearly had some severe chronic pain. That realization that you can hurt and focus on it, or you can hurt while going about your day. Either way, you hurt.

It does seem like an excellent view
Always fun to see a Gary Larson fan in the wild.
Aurora Question #63: Which of Erin’s mistakes would you consider the worst?
In terms of sheer magnitude, going into the storm, *especially* without being supervised by someone with an ounce of common sense. In terms of his own incompetence, busting his own soul channels when explicitly told not to.
For being an elemental magus, he really does not have a good track record with magic.
To be fair to Erin no one else could have survived the Storm to accompany him and its not like he could have known what/who was at the centre.
So perhaps more accurately, his worst mistake was thinking it was important that he fixes the storm right there, right then, rather than going back to the academy, presenting his findings, and asking their opinion on the matter.
Taking a bubble bath with my boyfriends sort of rival
I don’t want to burst your wobble, but I have a feeling they’ll be staying down here for longer than they’d like.
Things go to plan?
In MY Aurora comic?!
It’s less likely than you think!

Foreshadowing is a narrative device…

May the Fourth Be With You, everybody!
May the Fourth Be With You!
I am currently wearing a hat that says, “May the Forest be with you.” I love stacking my puns for May fourth every year.
Today may be May the Fourth, but since There’s Always a Bigger Fifth, soon we’ll see the Revenge of the Sixth, Because This is the May! The May of the Fandalore…

Erin has experience dealing with pain
this is a good duo i feel like we dont get enough of ngl
erin not lookin too hot
The sweat and unbuttoned chest not doing it for you? (jk)
I have to wonder what would happen if Alinua did that same “turn into a merperson” thing she did to herself to Erin and Dainix.
I feel like Erin would probably be alright, but Dainix might have complications due to his whole fire thing.
Hopefully it won’t be necessary.

Are Erin’s tattoos supposed to not be glowing?
