Are you kidding, this thing just demonstrated how impressively-versatile it is. I’d imagine Tahraim would be thrilled to have seen it used in a way he didn’t design it for. The Mk II version will probably have a nice long-and-durable tassel (maybe braided like a whip) to allow it to be used this way without being removed from the face, though.

Why do I so very, very much hope that Rakhn notices Falst going through so much to help his friend, and that he is so enraptured by the novelty of this story that he decides to help instead of chopping Kendal to pieces, just because this whole scenario is something he has never witnessed before and it intrigues him? I guess my need for harmony is strong today.

I was imagining that maybe the ignans would realise he was there and go “wait, why’s there a cat here??” And try to help him, but this is a much more interesting idea

At first I was all excited for update, then I saw Falst falling in a volcano and was just like ‘wait wut’
Falst is having an interesting time.
Red loves giving her characters tons of problems huh. We got Kendal fighting for his life against Rakhn, Falst is *this* close to falling into a lava lake, Erin is crippled, Dainix is still a rock, and Alinua (the HEALER!) is presumably off in the ocean somewhere. Are we gonna see more divine intervention or are they just gonna “tough it out” as the saying goes?
All I can think of are those motivational “hang in there” posters with the branch and the kitty and I can’t stop giggling. Sorry, Falst.

If the heat-resistant artifact and the able-to-breathe artifact were separate artifacts, you would have two separate points of failure. Losing both at once sucks, but losing either would still suck enough to make it hard to retrieve the dropped artifact.
