Erin, I think the ship breaking should have been a foregone conclusion but youâre clearly burnt out from being defeated so I suppose it can pass for now.

Okay I just struggled for a while to figure out which part of this script the part above Erinâs head is. So much that I went to find the cipher to check for myself. Now I realized it shouldâve been obvious that itâs written on its head (âcause Tess wrote it from outside the circle) and legitimately just says âAWAY AWAYâ, which I already thought it said but couldnât make fit because I was reading it BACKWARDS!
I think I better continue to leave the trying to read the runes to other people, Iâd just go mad.

No, I think the blazing will be reserved later for Falst to get Dainix back.
Itâs the subtle details that really get me here: Tessâs pose going from anger and battle ready, to relaxed yet let down between panels 1 and 3; Erinâs speech bubbles going from grey and cracked to grey and solid as an indicator that, while still ropey, is much better lying down; the glow effects from Tessâs spell carving dissipating with age (and confirmation Tess is a leftie?).
There are no grand spectacles to draw in this cave, but that doesnât mean the art will be any weaker.
I wonder how much of Erinâs protests are down to his pride at needing help after everything going wrong, and how much is him not wanting to burden Tess, akin to their old relationship. I doubt Tess is thinking too much into it, her brother needs help and she can help him, simple as, but Erin is another matter.
Oh yeah, Erin wasnât conscious when Nessie wrecked the damn boat, though he might have been aware enough to know he and Tess left the boat early. If so, his question could also be, indirectly, asking how the rest of the gang are (fairly on point for Erin). Or maybe heâs concerned about how they plan to get off this island without a boat.
Or heâs at that stage of exhaustion where your sense of priority is messed up.
Shows how out of the loop Erin is. I forgot he wouldnât even know the boat sank. People are taking this as asking about the boat vs. asking about the people, but I think Erin isnât just asking about the boat: heâs asking about everything connected to the boat, in exhausted shorthand. âWhat happened when I was out cold?â The question includes everything from âIs everyone floating away on the boat and weâre just separatedâ to âHow are we getting off this islandâ to âAre we all stranded nowâ to âIs my plan a total failureâ and, typical Erin, it sounds to me that heâs actually trying to *plan* when heâs barely even conscious.
If heâs trying to come up with a plan instead of resting, I swear, Tess is going to knock him out to *make* him rest.
Side note: itâs so adorable how easily she can pick up and carry her little brother. He looks about five.

The shiny rental with all of his friends on it (when last he saw), the same shiny rental he promised ANOTHER friend heâd take care of. That very sane shiny rental that was in the middle of the ocean near an active volcano? That shiny rental without which everyone would be in much greater danger? We are both talking about this same boat yes?
Given that last Erin was aware the âshiny rental carâ contained all his friends asking about it seems a reasonable shorthand

I *love* Caliban! Something about the short fire ponytail just speaks to me (maybe thatâs because they look like one of my ocâs) but I love the red and the fire and I think I just love Caliban. Close second is Alinua bc pretty lady :).

Tough choice but I want to say primordial stone, Tynaan, Caliban, Tarhim, and then Artist. In that order.
Erin in his storm chaser gear is my #1 or a #0 but it was scrapped early so I wasnât sure to count it or not.

Particularly since in this instance, it makes it very clear that unlike what Erin implied during his breakdown, sheâs helping him because she WANTS to help him
I wonder if Tessâs spell carving can channel other elements, can she slightly heal Erin?
Iâd assume only if she had a powersource, like a lacrima.
If I had to guess, which unless someone else knows the answer I do have to, the reason this circle can stop Erinâs channeling is because to do that heâd have to draw in energy from outside the circle, thereby crossing the runes and powering them with those elements, which activates their effect on whichever element Erin (accidentally) channeled and sends it away again.
I love that Erin is, by all accounts, the weakest member of the team, everyone can beat him

To be fair, Tess only beat him when he was in a really bad state with damaged seals, Falst hasnât beat him that I can remember, and Kendal and Alinua havenât really either, at least not in an all out fight. They definitely could, so the dragon has to be cautious, but I donât think it would be a guarantee.
