They’re not dead yet. Maybe he will start out as a villain and then pull a Heel-Face turn.
I’m not giving up on Falst yet. Could be an enemy to party member waiting to happen. And this group needs a little more chaotic energy! (Walter doesn’t count, he’s just third-wheeling)
Or Kendal could talk him down from… whatever the hell he’s trying to do.

Falst was too frustrated with getting the thing to work earlier. It’s doubtful if Falst knows, and he doesn’t seem the type to be that smug in explaining it, even if he does know. But Erin? He definitely knows, *and* he’s certainly pissed at Kendall for dragging him out of bed in the middle of the night.
Kendal: Erin? What are you doing there?
Alinua: I could make you the same question…
Erin: We’ll have plenty of time for talking later; we need to remove all the magic energy from that lacrima now before it kills us all.

Also, Kendal trying to use logic is adorable. You know he CAN. He’d get there eventually. But this is not where you’ve put most of your character points, my friend.

Not gonna lie, Gleicann forcefully gripping Kendal’s arm like that worried me for a second; I thought he was about to betray Kendal in some way, but as it turns out, he was just stopping a cat from chewing on live electric cords
I immediately thought the voice was Erin but it seems like you guys think it’s Falst…
In theory it could be Erin, but judging by Kendal’s facial expression I’m about 95% sure it’s Falst.
I feel like if it was Erin, the statement on the last panel would have been said more matter-of-factly, through Red did say that Erin isn’t really in the best of shape, so maybe the only way he could get it out was a shout.
However I also feel like (from what we’ve seen) Falst would’ve been more snarkily enthusiastic about it, and he would’ve know about the dangers of life lacrimas by reading the books that he stole from Erin, so it could possibly be him as well.

Well, I just discovered this after years and, um, reddit. A bit embarrassing, if I do say so myself!
This is pure awesome though, looking forward to more!

Snarky interjection that shows Kendal up, Erin or Falst? Hmm … I’ll go with Falst, we only just saw Erin leave the clinic and Kendal’s expression is one of surprise and alertness, if it was Erin it would just be surprise.
Yeah, this is where bringing Erin and/or Alinua would have been useful, they may want lion-boy’s head but they also have the means and knowledge to deal with the lacrima. Kendal is alway well meaning but between this and his original plan to go after the Collector he doesn’t always think things through.
TL;DR: The magic battery is a bio-magic-whatever hazard, who the hell left this thing unsupervised? Vashn’t wants to break the battery, a smartass interjects.
