Also, Alinua, please use those seeds as an Ariadne’s thread (of vines) so you won’t get lost inside those caves (but if what Erin said is true, elemental magic doesn’t work underground)…
He said that the caves can’t be reshaped; you can still summon fire from your hands, or even drag a boulder from outside and levitate it. Alinua will still be able to use life magic in the caves
Hmmm…. Aliuna’s magic is anything but ‘normal’, and it looks as though she might have some sort of direct connection with a god, perhaps even one of the primordials. So perhaps she will still be able to use elemental magic in the caves, to some extent at least.
Also, both of them have demonstrated a resistance to the corrupting magic of the dark-figure-with-golden-eyes-who-really-needs-a-name-red-before-we-readers-name-it ;P And so if (and this seems likely) the corruption dark magic is the ‘seventh element’ and cave corruption is caused by this seventh element, then perhaps neither of them are so much at risk in the caves.
Also, here’s a theory: what if the Collector is trying to create a vessel for this dark-entity?
If she is able to use magic, she might not want to. Using magic in the caves might attract monsters or even the Collector. But since they don’t seem to have any food with them, she might need to grow some more magic fruit trees… I guess we’ll find out eventually
