It’s shaped like a dragon. So the dark energy was the dark dragon that the primordials inprisined. Probably in the center of the storm.

I’m thinking that what the dark dragon did was try to do the same thing as what the life magic primordial has probably been doing with the chimeric plague all these years, with Icarus as everybody’s been calling him. By that I mean tried to make a dark magic avatar in a sense, kind of like Unalaq and Vaatu from LoK if anybody understands that.
To add on to what everyone has been saying about the dark energy being the dark dragon that was imprisoned by the primordials, I also think that the dark dragon has some connection to the seventh element, that locked extra lore page, in the same way that the life primordial is connected to Alinua through her control of the life element and her chimeric tattoo. So that not a nice tattoo gives him access to a large amount of the seventh element and gives the seventh element a large amount of access to him.
Seconded! So basically Mr. Hubris here suffered something like extreme ‘cave corruption’, ‘course in this case the corruption was animate… Is the ‘seventh element’ page unlocked for anyone else now? Seems to no longer be locked.

Nope, still locked from this end, but if you have some idea of why yours seemed unlocked or what password you used, reply with either the password or the first hint you found. I think most everyone here wouldn’t mind going on an ARG to find that password.

My hypothesis is that on every victim this…thing captures, it leaves a mark, and maybe that means that it can return to poses them, or maybe that they are slowly turning to what he is. Also, Mr MacHubrisglasses will probably tell us what happened in the beginning with more clarity. Finally, I think Alinua might probably recognize this mark and say “Let’s please get the hell out of here” and Kendal will say “What’s hell?” *because he was literally born yesterday* jaja

My theory is that he was wearing glasses just to be trendy.

I’ve got it! Every time a primordial merges with a being (elf, human, etc…) they leave a mark on them that’s different from the elemental tattoos normally used. Alinua obviously is merged with the life primordial, and the chimeric plague must be the Primordial’s attempt to find a suitable host. That’s why every chimeric plague victim has “Life” tattoos and massive power they can’t control. The dragon that the primordials sealed away left it’s mark on the Magus, and now he’s it’s unwilling host. Of course, the dragon must be the seventh primordial of the last element.
Ironically, the magus is now supremely overpowered. Him and Alinua are both gods now (yes, I know theyr’e hosts), and Kendall’s a ex-god/husk.

for some reason I love the way the panel “what is it, then?” was drawn. Angsty Nerd McIcarus looks really expressive and the over the shoulder shot is great for the mood. Also pretty stars yay.

I’m going to predict (without reading most of the supplementary stuff on this site lol) that Angsty McIcarus is a Dr. Frankenstein crossed with Every Scrawny Scientist’s Bullied Son Continuing Their Research and Hiding Their Father’s Research ever. Went to magic school a poor freshman honors student and nerded out hard, aiming for awesome stuff, then he learns something horrible that his high ambitions coincidentally would help, so he nerded some more and eventually tried the stormy Avatar thing. The mark means he’s horribly cursed, possessed, marked, and/or scarred. Maybe’s he’s like overembraced his magic or ticked some entity off. Guess we’ll see next time in: Ow My Hubris, The Modern Icarus.
Also, I’ve recently been listening to the soundtrack for FernGully, and it reminds me a ton of Alinua.

Great, so Kendal’s basically befriended a walking bomb (whose name, guessing from the archive page, is Erin, not Icarus)
I hold the unpopular opinion that Icarus will not in fact be joining the party. He will obviously remain an important side character, but he won’t be joining the main cast. I think he’s going to be busy giving some real awkward research reports back at the Academy.
i doubt he’d be too good for the literal incarnation of the life goddess and an actual god. its FASCINATING, simpleton.
Just noticed what the logo was. I mean I know what it represents. The logo of the webpage is the storm, with each dividing sector represented in a color and the dark floof (the primordial dragon) trapped in the middle, because the storm was a cage.
So yeah maybe I just caught wind of the fact of what the logo was, but we all new what the storm was about, I mean when Red posted the lore page, without that it would have been difficult.
I think Kendall had better check his own body for coll looking doom tattoos.
Theory: Dark Floof is afraid of the life primordial because she’s the only thing that can destroy it, as seen when Alinua healed herself.

just saw your Ad on time skips youtube video. This is really good. Any chance you’ll make videos explaining each chapter? I was thinking it was kinda like Link, plant Katara, and the snooty avatar. Brilliant! saw a comparison to Eragon’s palm scar from the inheritance cycle. I’m guessing evil dragon corruption? Thank you for making an original, interesting story, they’re hard to find. Noticing a few tropes/subversions (Great work on that!) I’m gonna comment at cliffhangers. feedback doesn’t really matter but it is fun.
