But if you look closer, you can see it’s of someone trying to stab Vash.
If you look even closer, you can see that the sword that’s being used to stab Vash is BREAKING OVER HIS CHEST GUYS WHAT THE HECK
Taking a closer look at the mural, and the lore page for Vash’s sword, it seems Vash shattered that sword with his hand rather than it breaking on his chest.
That or in the time between that and the Collector’s attack anti-god knife technology has improved dramatically.

I know everyone’s already noticed this, but that’s Tynan fighting Vash there in the background (for a second I thought it was Vash getting impaled by the collector)
I’m re-reading the comic because I’m waiting for her to upload, and I just noticed the painting in the background of Tynan fighting Vash, but it looks like Sarrissa got there before me so… but, there’s a better look at Tynan on 1.4.14, a better look at Vash (you can see his expression) on page 1.4.18 (though there’s a bunch of text boxes in the way), and a great look at it on 1.4.19, you get to see basically the whole thing!
It’s not lying, it’s withholding the whole truth… XD i wonder how the village-boss-guy takes that.^^
