See, and now that same tapestry appears to have Vash in it, though I can’t be sure, and it is still unclear what is going on. You either have an exquisite eye for detail, which actually, is probably true regardless, or this tapestry reveals something about Vash’s history, and the other person in the tapestry is someone we are going to encounter later, OR this could be a tapestry woven by a seer who looks into the future and then weaves her visions, so that they will be immortalized, and it depicts Kendal dying. Or it could just be a really pretty tapestry, but I’m hoping for something a little bit more.
My immediate instinct for an explanation for Kendal is just not being inside the city at the time, like, just returning from a journey and being close enough to witness The Collector doing her thing from a hiding place in the bushes. It looks like the city IMploded rther than EXploded to me, and if that’s correct you could reasonably be pretty close to witness it and not be caught up yourself
TL;DR: Magistrate-Floof insists, so Alinua bs’s a story about a small godless town, completely forgetting the dangerous birthmark on display on her arm.
“Godless” sounds scary but it just means you don’t belong to a specific city god. However, it is usually MEANT to indicate that you were explicitly exiled BY a city for some sort of crime. Technically everyone in Windscrest is “godless” in the sense that Windscrest is too small to have a god of its own, but that’s not what he’s asking here.
why isn’t Alinua covering her plague mark? shouldn’t the townsfolk recognise it and be TERRIFIED? or will this be addressed? I get that it’s not a danger anymore, but they have no way of knowing that. am I overthinking this?
Kendal himself mistaked it for a life rune tattoo, people get tattoos of runes that corresponds with the element(s) they excel at, even Tattos Toots-His-Own-Horn Huburis McGee has them, people will probably think it’s just a tattoo, not a chimeric mark as they look similar or are even the same, though you can definitely identify a tattoo from a mark using life magic as Icarus does that in chapter 6
Whoaaa in the background of the first panel, the tapestry in the background… That was being foreshadowed THIS EARLY!? Wow… Red’s been playing the long game here.
Back story: incoming!
Now it’s your turn to talk about yourself Kendal
Two updates later, the criminal and the guy who stole a god’s body are run out of town by the same angry pitchfork-wielding mod that greeted them
Remove the text and it looks like Alinua’s bargaining for something while Kendal is angry the man won’t drop his prices…
Oh no, Kendal’s gonna have to tell his story:
“Hi, I’m the reincarnation of Vash—”
“Get out.”
Wait, that implies that there are more gods out there. Which means……..balls. There gonna be a lot more dead deities out there soon.
There’s always been more gods. We’ve known this for a while
Kendal: yeah I was just chilling, being nothing, and then all of a sudden, I was

Guys
Red literally talked about it on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AuroraWebcomic/status/1156035204919644163
Thanks! I was not aware there was a twitter account for the webcomic.
Red talks about it in the “extra lore” section, under Vash’s Sword.
Talks about it a bit more, I meant. Like, what the tapestry depicts.

And now, the long wait begins. Curse my binge-reading. Curse it to the ends of the earth.
It’s not that long! Red uploads a new page every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

blarmy blar blar;
“To be what we are, and to become what we are capable of becoming, is the only end of life.”
He is deeply concerned with, the ways they have come
She’s been living alone, gone from where she was from
In my head this was set to the melody of The Old Gumbie Cat, just so you know

Shouldn’t she hide the chimeric tattoo or something? Is that important?
