You know now that I have reread this comic, I’ve realized that maybe the reason my boy Kendal is so afraid of people dying for him, is because that’s exactly what happened to Vash, his entire city died solely bc Smiler wanted him, and that probably what Vash was thinking in his final moments of freedom, and it was such a crushing realization for Vash that it stuck with Kendal even after Vash left his body. The realization maybe tainted Vash’s memories with like despair and jazz so when Floofi Boi woke up, he had a lot of depression without the context, or not at least for a little while until Vash himself reached out to him and Kendal sorted through his mind a little. Then Kendal internalized it. That’s my theory on why he’s so deadset on sacrificing himself and feels responsible for everything. OwO.
