Falst=Lion but he’s got a bit of wolf in there, Kendal=Golden Retriever, Tess=Some sort of bird. Erin=Maybe owl, possibly raven/crow, Dainix=Also Golden Retriever or maybe wolf, Ali=Plant

This is when half your players missed a session but you already prepared anything so you sort of cook up a quick sidequest for the pair that showed up.
It ends up being the best session you ever run.

Wait a minute. Mutated pale monsters that were once people. Advanced automatons still serving their purpose long after their creators are gone. All packed together in a subterranean bunker with inexplicable light sources. Is this a Skyrim Dwemer ruin with additional Falmer? I feel my inventory getting full already.
Dainix is thinking logically about this place, Falst is channeling his Wolverine side to help, and both are putting any issues they have aside for the moment. I’m quietly optimistic now, which means something is going to go wrong.
Dainix is still set on continuing his guard duty? That’s commitment. I guess if there are other crawlers or more offensive automatons down here it’s a good idea; things might have changed since Erin was last here, including how dangerous the surface can be.
The main protagonists haven’t kissed yet, so these two likely wont. But there’ll be something – like, Falst shyly, tentatively touching Dainix’s hand, then looking away, embarassed.
I agree dear Michael. It took me a few pages into chapter 20 to get the gist but after Dainix started with the whole ‘reading Falst and trying to help’ I felt like Kronk. “Oh yea, it’s all coming together”
Could be, but not Red’s stated intent for her story. I see Dainix and Falst putting aside their differences to work together to get out. Dainix’s desire to protect others and knowledge working with Falst’s Ferin senses and knowhow. A wonderful exploration of these two characters in action as shown through the dialogue here. Well done Red!
Yeah but she has mentioned plans for a main cast romance at some point when asked and a lot of old trope talk doodles imply that Falst and Dainix are dating or at least were in one version of the story. Do I think they’re going to make out here in the abandoned ruins? No. Could I see this putting them on the path to a relationship? Yes.
Also I have no clue why but this is reminding me of RainWorld. Never played the game. Never even watched the playthroughs. But this is still reminding me of RainWorld.

Looking at the perspective in the last panel, they might be walking quite a while underground, to the point of exiting on the other side of the ruins from the camp. I hope neither of them are exhausted now, because they will be soon.
I’m kind of worried about Falst’s arm. I’m pretty sure it’s still broken, but he’s using it a lot–and Alinua had mentioned how important it was for breaks on him to be set quickly, or else his healing factor will heal them incorrectly. It might be a good thing that he’s still using it a lot, because it’s keeping it from healing, but a) ouch and b) that can’t be conducive to it healing RIGHT.
Gotta love when the creator just casually works stupid memes into their story so seamlessly you wouldn’t know anything was weird without knowing the meme already!

I love how, in Aurora-verse, holding a single bright light over your face in a dark room only causes half your face to be in shadow, when in real life I KNOW that a harsh, undiffused light like that would turn even the floofiest boi into a greasy, blemished mess 🙁
