Okay, important questions time. Is this a Yami Yugi situation, where the body housed two souls? Or did a stray soul attach itself to the body Vash left behind? Or does the body have a conscious without Vash’s soul? And the most important question, if he’s what Vash “left behind,” does that mean when Vash returns, he’ll cease to exist?
I just really want to figure this out. This is such a fascinating situation. Congrats on getting my brain working in the middle of summer, Red!

Im loving it so far, however the first time I read it, I didn’t really understand what was going on, and had to re read it again along with the new chapter, kinda odd you didn’t just have him wake up not knowing who he is, and have the backstory revealed in flashbacks/nightmares, but I guess that is a bit of a dead horse trope, so I see why you steered away. But I cant wait to see where this story goes next, I read the lore, and you clearly put a lot of care love and attention into it, very Tolkien inspired, as I probably should have expected. Predictions; Vash, and Alinua will set off on a journey to save Vashs soul, early on they will meet friends who will join them, well probably get another villain a sniveling silly one, possibly an underling to The Collector, and it will be revealed Alinua has alterior motives. Also wondering how romantic sub plots will be handled if there are any, everyone will probably be lost without one. PS This has inpired me to continue writing

TL;DR: Half-n-Vash waxes philosophical to Blue Cosplay Chick and describes how Vash kept trying to contact himself despite receiving no reliable signal five miles beneath the surface. Half-n-Vash thought he’d never pick up Vash’s signal again, but now that Cosplay Chick healed his grievous stab wound, he now can figure out how to get back in touch with his soul-buddy.

The Collector is only so long as she collects souls, Chimera Mom is forever, as even if she stops making chimeras she still made them at one point and thus still is a mom. If you have kids then stop giving birth, you’re still a mom. Chimera Mom is number one
I did not realize how much of a get up and go attitude Kendal had even from the outset. he woke up, felt himself bleeding to death, was reeling from processing that he existed even though nothing felt real, after feeling this all out, he hears vash crying for help. While tearing through rock, he collapses (presumably from bloodloss), and shortly after waking p for the second time in his life, he is ready to go again.
