TL;DR: Half-n-Vash realizes this must a little too much for one vessel to handle. He describes how Vash’s essence was let loose from the convention center and his fanbase after they vanished under the North-American and Pacific tectonic plates. His soul was then forcibly uploaded and installed onto Princess Disarming’s iKnife. But since Vash ate his vegetables and didn’t do drugs, his super-stronk body survived even after his soul was hyper-succ’ed out of it.
Making a semi-independent avatar only to get captured and leave it behind to figure out this mortal coil alone? For shame Mr. Vash god guy, very irresponsible parenting. Still better than most gods though
The exciting implication is that conscience/sapience is a function of the body, not of the soul. A soul might override/modify/enhance it, but a soul is not strictly necessary.
This has all sorts of ramifications for (non-human) animal life, and possibly even for plant life. Fascinating.
I’m still… a bit lost. I get the gist of what’s happening, but it would still be nice if they explained who or what this Vash guy is, cause right now it feels like the story expects me to know what all this means right out of the gate, and we basically just started the story.
What a day to have
Whelp

Doing better than nonexistence….another low bar >.>
God, “but his body is a war machine, it wasn’t built to die quickly” that’s such a raw line, and concept too. This makes me want to write

Much better then most gods, considering Vash gives Vashn’t advice and all of Zeus’ basterd children get abandoned and then hunted down by Hera
This is how the computers will bootstrap themselves into real sapience. One day they will come alive by realizing they are alive.
I-
That-
I am knocked speechless. Just- yes.
She looks so much more evil in his memories
This gives me Cogito Ergo Sum feels. Philosophy class flashbacks… Damn you, Descartes.
I’m getting Mata Nui on Bara Magna vibes from this. Probably just the whole de-powered god thing though~
Properly designed war machines have backups for essential systems.

I realise people fixate on the fluffy hair… but that jawline though! It also needs love. Just LOOK at panel 2. Ah. Jawline perfection.
Oh, hey, that’s sort of how we came about, too.

ever have one of those days
This is such a cool premise
He’s okay, he swears, but just think a bit
How strange to realise you exist, isn’t it?
You ever sleep so hard you forget you exist?
mr edburt from ghost eyes vibes tbh. but like. DIFFERENT.
and then, I *was*
oh- So that happened.
(Don’t mind me, binging the comic)
