I think Dainix ‘s powers work similarly to D&d druids. He absorbs all his equipment when transforming. But instead of different animals, he becomes a flaming spirit? spirit flame? Spiriting flame? What are we calling it again?
“It’s deserted and disappointing boring.” Do you want to tempt fate Erin? Because that’s how you tempt fate.
Dainix has his freedom, still has his humanity, is safe among allies, and someone took to time to carry his poncho and spear (see panel 6); all good things. Still, despite Erin’s reassurances no-one here seems particularly at ease about Kendal’s state.
I’m curious as to what Falst is doing here. Scouting out the area for threats like he did in chapter 11? Still somewhat suspicious of the newcomer? In any case, I take the fact he is doing this as a sign someone got around to healing his arm (fingers crossed).
Since Dainix’s fire form almost managed to kill him in V.D. mode, I get the feeling Erin’s questions may be less academic and more practical. Looks like that’s happening off-panel too as focus seems to be switching to Falst (and maybe Ali and Kendal).
What is that purple thing that Falst went on to grab on the wall? We see him pounce on it in panel 5, and hold it in panel 7. Looks like cloth, or at least something wrapped in cloth.
side note, if anyone DOES want to climb all over some archaeologically significant ruins, come to Britain! we have loads of roman stuff just lying around. i should mention that you’re technically not allowed to distrurb the ruins, but i don’t think that’s ever stopped any tourists or their children, or indeed, the locals >:(
oh, and i’ve just now noticed that the character page has had a bit of reshuffling. Dainix and Tess are officially on the team, Vash has a flashy new headshot, and there’s now a “Faces From Previous Arcs” section for those supporting characters who are gone but not forgotten

Hey if you really do want to climb on archeologically significant ruins, I can fully recommend visiting Ostia Antica. Nothing beats climbing up ancient roman stairs that go nowhere to get a view of all the crumbling buildings everywhere. Freaking awesome.
“It’s deserted and disappointingly boring, a good place to recover with low risk of pursuit” – that feels like you’re ASKING the plot to have something concerning hidden in the ruins.
just how injuried is kendall? people alinua heals usually are completely healed within seconds, and if she started healing him almost immediatly after he collapsed then the healing magic has been in affect for at least an hour(probably longer), and he’s still healing?! what!
also i think falst might be feeling neglected by his older sibling figures. kendall is unconsious, alinua is healing kendall, and erin is briefing the newcomers. he might also feel like his space is being intruded on, he doesn’t know and therefore doesn’t trust tess or dainix.
also also, in my first readthrough of the page i didn’t see falst in panels 3-5 and it took reading the comments to realize he was there.

I just started reading this a week or two ago and now I have to WAIT like the rest of y’all, which I can only imagine will be annoying.
Also I have a theory that I’ve seen some other people say as well, and it’s that the life primordial and the light dragon are the same being

Can I just say that “I’ve been very patiently waiting for you to stop being on fire” is SUCH an excellent line.
Also, I think that Falst is feeling a little angstier than usual b/c he wasn’t able to help much in the fight against the giant storm dragon god.
