i really like the Paladin-eyeview of the battle, and how it makes Erin look like a voodoo doll. i also really like how you can see the citizens have been trying to rally; there’s a fire mage in panel 4, and that’s just a small sample of the population, although Tynan may be past the point where they will be helpful

Well good news, the gang are all still alive with Alinua still healing and the dragon riders given landings they can walk away from. And Tynan may soon no longer be a problem, even the rain seems to have died down. Bad news … whatever happens next.
Ok, now that the Junior Archivist, who REALLY needs her official name, and by extension the Light Dragon have a definite position of the Void Dragon’s vessel things are going to get super complicated. I don’t know if she can see that figure wreathed in shadow, but after Erin’s insistence on seeing the archives and other strange behaviour, it won’t take much to connect the dots.
… Wait a minute, I’ve just had a thought. I’m betting that V.D. is able to do this because Tynan is in the form of a dragon, and we’ve seen previously that L.D. can possess dragons. Could the Lady, seeing what J.A. is seeing, take control or manipulate Tynan to attack Erin? Her powers may shore up Tynan’s body and gift him powers to counter Erin.

but on the other hand, I’m really worried about Alinua, last time she was hit by the void she expelled it almost effortlessly, but now three pages in, she still hasn’t healed.

Nice Job Red. Over the lengthy fight, we saw how outpowered our heroes were against Tynan. It was clear that it was not an even fight, even though our gang held their own. Now VD comes out and completely starts destroying Tynan over 2 pages worth of fight time. We now have a really good visual of how powerful our Void Dragon is. Vash spent hours battling Tynan. VD does it in 2 seconds.

But given how far away June is, it’s *plausible* she can’t actually tell who’s who. And if so, I would love for the following to happen at some point:

The Void Dragon’s appearance is unmistakable, and my client’s colouration, size, and body plan are all distinctly different. This is clearly a case of harassment to attempt to suppress fair competition in a much broader market. Many gods have dragon forms, and consumers/worshippers have no difficulty telling them apart. Furthermore, the Void Dragon’s trademark has not been in common use for at least hundreds of years, making any claim moot–indeed, how can we even determine that the complainant even is a AAAAHHHH OH GODS NO MY EYES ARGAHRGLGGLGLLBL

…Why do I suddenly feel that the Floof Squad is about to have a very unwilling new member? Because I’m fairly sure there’s only two ways this can go, and one of them is that the Light Dragon directs June to go with them to more effectively monitor and/or counter the Void Dragon.
The other is that they forcibly kidnap her so she doesn’t tip off any surviving archivists or paladins. Not entirely sure how effective that would be, though, given the Light Dragon’s apparent ability to have multiple avatars (I would assume that she can transfer from one to another, or if she’s split off fragments of herself they can still communicate with the whole, so …)
Though I suppose, depending on the aftermath of what is apparently about to be a three-way dragon battle, she may find herself chased out regardless and have to join up with the Floof Squad. We’ll just have to see how things play out…

If I could channel any element in aurora, I think I’ll say fire. I’m so highly variable and all over the place as a person, and my strengths are inconsistent, so I have to say no to stone. That’s the only hard no I have, plus I’m not sure personality traits decide your elemental affinity. I just think Fire is very cool, and I’m pretty sure Red is creative enough to come up with stuff you can do with fire other than just making a fire and spreading it.
I like fire for a multitude of reasons. It fits my philosophy of growth, I always use fire symbolism to represent the core of my personality. When I come out of depressive episodes, or workout, I get into this surge of a good mood, and I become extremely capable and inspired. That inspiration is really hard to describe. It’s got some traits of anger, such as the intensity and the determination, but it feels like happiness, and I feel completely whole. My emotions always feel like they are swelling up, and I associate all of that stuff with fire and the sun.
Tl;dr I associate all of most positive emotions and self acceptance with fire, so my element in the world of Aurora would be fire. If I could choose.
Also I like the color combo of red, orange, and yellow above all others.

There isn’t much of a reason that’d happen. If she joins the floof squad, it’d probably be to spy on them, but not before she takes the Vault back somewhere safe. And I think Erin especially would be against her joining the party on account of the fact that she probably wants to kill him.
Light Dragon should be popping in any time now, excellent. Though now I’m left wondering where Dainix’s soulfire is gonna factor in- with regard to Tynan, at least, it seems to have been a red herring to mask the Void Dragon’s intervention. Unless soulfire can harm the VD as well? Or maybe at least force it to retreat and let Erin wake up?

Will it be a powerful fire-being who entered the story just as we found out Tynan is very week to fire? Will it be the incredibly badass one chosen by the sky who can defeat the storm? Will it be a snarky fire wizard? NO silly, it will probably be the VOID dragon!
