Option 1.) Tess was first shown taking down a dragon. Tess is now quadrupedly effective against Tynan.
Option 2.) Uh oh, Voidy don’t like his host being attacked. Dragon v Nightmare Dragon of death and destruction.
Okay, Tynan’s been an ineffectual theater reject villain for the past chapter and a third (?). How do you fix that? It’s simple, really.
TURN HIM INTO AN ENORMOUS F***-YOU DRAGON! That’ll fix it. XD
On a more serious note, solid work on that reveal, Red! Big props.
Tynan: My armour is like tenfold shields, my teeth are sw-
Erin: (slaps the snoot) Stop that! Do you want us to get sued?
Ali, get the tanks healed up and send them here, maybe Falst and/or Dainix swoop in and intervene, because the squishy mage, and the guy making the actual solid plans, is now defenceless.
Gotta give Tynan credit; when he turns into a dragon he goes the extra mile. I love that blue with yellow colour scheme, blue evoking storm clouds and the yellow zig-zagging as lightning across him. The flecked yellow parts make me think of lapis lazuli and the lines of Kintsugi pottery repair; might just be me thinking it but it is a great look. However that crown of golden horns around his face, white eyes, and even his smile, leaves no doubt that is is still Tynan.
Scared for our protags now, but also excited to see what they do to try and beat him.
Tynan things are gunna get real bad for you if you back this little wizard in a corner. His dragon is bigger than yours, it eats suns. Don’t make him set it on you XD
The speech bubble being a cloud firing a lightning bolt is really cool. I also love the little details in his face that make his dragon form look visually similar to his humanoid avatar. Tynan is absolutely vain enough to want to keep his look between forms.
Falst jumps from the side to ensure that Erin is out of claws range then picks Erin in bridal carry and books it in the opposite direction of the dragon.
While Erin watches behind Falst’s shoulder forlorny.
Why is Erin getting so much focus in this fight that really doesn’t belong to him though. What happened to everyone else? It’s kind of disappointing that neither Dainix or Kendal got time to have their things developed in favor of twinko mage. I like erin as much as anyone but the character focus has been so all over the place this arc. I would have fogured his “all this power and I still can’t do anything” “a whole city’s in danger and you’re making this about yourself?” plotline would have DISCOURAGED this actually. No hate of course but I feel like talking about it
One: omg this reveal, Disney WISHES they could be this amazingly dramatic. Also, o no, it looks like Erin has been backed into a corner, and last time that happened, VD almost took over. The three day old ravioli is about to hit the fan.
I think the unofficial name for this form of Tynan should be The Blizzard for three reasons:
1. A blizzard is a type of powerful storm
2. After Erin froze the rain into snow, the storm could be seen as a blizzard
3. He looks like a lizard
…He didn’t even flinch. He took a cue from Vash and built his incarnation to last. So Kendal and Tess, even putting their injuries aside, just became a lot less effective… meaning it might take either void magic or soulfire to take Tynan down, unless Kendal can summon a brilliant burst of starfire.
I like Tynan’s design here, but considering that his gold markings are even more complex than Dainix’s skin patterns, I feel that Red is going to get tired of drawing him pretty quickly.
SerifStones:
Honestly, who wouldn’t want to be able to voluntarily shapeshift in general?
Disappointing. We’re not going to sort of devolve into “which of the 17 Super Saiyan levels will manifest THIS week,” are we? C’mon — you quite literally wrote the book on ‘Tropes and How to Use Them’.
And just when I thought I couldn’t love this over-dramatic murder-happy god any more he does this!
Shape-shifting is a fantastic solution to your problems tbh
I feel like Tynan could have saved himself a lot of trouble and still gotten a pretty hefty fear banquet by just doing this in the first place, but hey, makes for a cool splash page!
(Still banking on the Void Dragon eventually saying “Aw, how cute,” and emerging to teach Tynan what fear really is.)
But if Tynan now needs to “make it a height thing”, this implies he’s becoming significantly weaker. While initially facing of with Zuurith, as Red herself pointed out, he didn’t feel the need to, because he was so confident in his superiority. Now he knows he can be injured by these mortals, so he must actively make himself more fearsome to regain power.
Or, third option, both things happen. Void Dragon does admittedly look a bit more likely, though.
…I wonder what the odds are of Tuna attempting to swallow Erin, only for Voidy to take over and herald-form!Erin to burst out of his gullet… Or would that be too graphic, do you think? It would certainly make for a decent cliffhanger and oh shit!/despair moment for the Floof Squad…
Also, side note, congrats to TheUnknownGame for predicting Tynan’s dragon form all the way back in April (page 1.16.32, released on the 27th).
(I was scrolling through the previous pages trying to figure out what I had previously called Erin’s potential parallel-to-Michael appearance and found that tidbit in the process)
Haven’t watched it yet, but otherwise have gotten the info. What will be interesting will be if any of my guesses about the contents of said upstate turn out to be true…
(I may or may not also be trying to figure out how to crochet a squishy Lechonk plush even though the only thing I’ve ever successfully crocheted in my life is a Gengar based on a craft book pattern and that’s still only half-assembled… And also because I have a poor track record of sticking with projects long enough to finish them in the first place.)
Side note, that actually reminds me of something I forgot to post in my first comment–does anyone else here play Puzzles and Dragons, and if so, is is just me or does Tynan’s dragon form bear a vague resemblance to the White Dragon line?
Skye:
Huh. I was right. That brings me a nice little satisfaction.
Rereading that comment for proof reminded me of another point I had made; there likely isn’t enough ambient void energy in the area for The Void Dragon to possess Erin on his own initiative, so starfire and soulfire are likely to be the only options to beat Tynan, unless Erin decides to try to channel void magic out of desperation and/or the fire mages of Zuurith team up and unleash a truly epic blast.
Well on the plus side, given how long it took Tynan to form this incarnation, maybe he might not be able to regenerate as fast now? So maybe they’ll be able to just take him down the old fashioned way if they’re lucky and the constant regeneration was an incarnation-being-built-for-that thing, and not just a general god thing
Okay. Hear me out, if Tynan can shapeshift into a dragon it is possible that the light dragon worshipped by the paladins is also a regular god shapeshifted into a dragon. That way there can both be a light dragon that opposes the void dragon AND there are only 7 elements because whoever is pretending to be the light dragon wasn’t around at the creation of the planet.
Egad, that’s scary, especially with all dragon!Tynan’s focus on just Erin. No wonder he looked so desperate when he threw that fireball. Fat lot of good that did.
umm, I just realized that void might literally be held in the center of the earth. They are fighting on a mountain, no void ain’t coming Erin has to be close to the ground or the dragon can’t even speak to him. or I’m wrong, still possibilities.(side note i think void plans on destroying the planet)
(For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically a lightning-based You-Kai of Japanese folklore, and while usually taking the form if a blueish wolf, it sometimes takes the form of a tiger or a dragon.)
Okay wow that’s cool
Those are some big Chompers he got there
oh yea, thats not good
Erin used Flamethrower.
It wasn’t very effective.
The time has come at last for me to time Dragon Tynan’s reveal to Self-Embodiment Of Perfection from Jujutsu Kaisen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKfyq_hOL0c
Based
yes, the answer is just yes
Tynan’s final attack… his FURSONA!
once tess can find the ground she’s gonna be ovrejoyed
His flames lash out and tear asunder
The thrust of storm, his life to guard;
Revealed beneath its cloak of storm,
The dragon Tynan smiles.
Erin’s face in the first panel captures my exact feelings when a boss whips out a surprise second phase.
A Storm God and a Dragon? Tynan was right; he IS trying something new!
:O
Tynan just turned into a… wolf? dragon? wolf-dragon?
Ah, the storm dragon god. A mix of two brutal enemies.
careful tynan, youre not the only dragon around
insert the phase 2 boss theme! (also that is very cool and very terrifying)
KAIJU FIGHT!
KAIJU FIGHT!
KAIJU FIGHT!
Tynan vs Entropy Dragon?
oh. oh no.
for some reason I feel like tynan’s voice when his speech bubbles are all thundery sounds like James Earl Jones
Yeah I think they will need a little more then fire in order to take him down.
@your local seagull-
Darth Tynan?
Option 1.) Tess was first shown taking down a dragon. Tess is now quadrupedly effective against Tynan.
Option 2.) Uh oh, Voidy don’t like his host being attacked. Dragon v Nightmare Dragon of death and destruction.
Gaze now upon the teeth of the beast,
And its scales of gold and white,
It could swallow a man whole beneath
Those eyes with lightning bright.
Also- WOW. Whoever said Tynan’s final form would be DRAGON, you should open a tarot shop or something.
Okay, Tynan’s been an ineffectual theater reject villain for the past chapter and a third (?). How do you fix that? It’s simple, really.
TURN HIM INTO AN ENORMOUS F***-YOU DRAGON! That’ll fix it. XD

DRAGON??? RED YOU GIVE DRAGON NOW???????? DRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh
The speech bubble being a cloud firing a lightning bolt is really cool. I also love the little details in his face that make his dragon form look visually similar to his humanoid avatar. Tynan is absolutely vain enough to want to keep his look between forms.
when is the godzilla threshhold
Tynan: “I thought this fight was starting to *drag on*, so…”
Next scene:
Falst jumps from the side to ensure that Erin is out of claws range then picks Erin in bridal carry and books it in the opposite direction of the dragon.
While Erin watches behind Falst’s shoulder forlorny.
And here I was worried that Tess would be without a punchable problem!
Woaaah tynan dragon is cool and bustin it up with those acrylics
Why is Erin getting so much focus in this fight that really doesn’t belong to him though. What happened to everyone else? Hey guys… uh… remember Red talking about dragons being defeated by storm gods?
So maybe floofy lugia was a bust, but tynan with the big cat bell could still be a thing
One: omg this reveal, Disney WISHES they could be this amazingly dramatic. Also, o no, it looks like Erin has been backed into a corner, and last time that happened, VD almost took over. The three day old ravioli is about to hit the fan.
YEEEEEEEEES, THE GOLD! That looks amazing! Great job, Red
Does this remind anyone of the draconic possession they talked about before?
oh he a big ol boi
Once again I am becoming increasingly upset that ‘transforming into an enormous F*** you dragon’ is not in my currently available list of skillsets
Dark magic time?
Oh. He’s a dragon. Look at that 😀
Yoooo I called him being a dragon now last Friday
Happy Pride, holy SHIT-
@SerifStones
Totally agree, turning into an enormous f*** you dragon would be fantastic.
Dragon kaiju fight!!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!!!

We expected Blue-Eyes White Dragon, instead we got White-Eyes Blue Dragon. Close enough.
@BushGuardian why not both? 😀
The promise made by the chapter cover has been fulfilled…
holy FUCK

I was clicking through and was startled to see that the last episode was posted today, cue the dramatic villain NOOOO
Disappointing. We’re not going to sort of devolve into “which of the 17 Super Saiyan levels will manifest THIS week,” are we? C’mon — you quite literally wrote the book on ‘Tropes and How to Use Them’.
heehee dargon
@TheUnknownGame: Complicated designs that cause problems for the artist are incentive to kill them off 😉
The dragon has landed next to all the superhuman melee peeps and is taking his turn to gloat. Hes living 2 more rounds tops
And just when I thought I couldn’t love this over-dramatic murder-happy god any more he does this!
Shape-shifting is a fantastic solution to your problems tbh

That’s a dragon, all right.
Wait so Tynan is now a storm dragon. That was a thing, doesn’t that mean an earth god with a hammer has to kill him? I need to rewatch that video.
@Setras same! My thing though is since they are so far from the caves, Erin might have to give Voidy permission to take his body over.
Also following up my comment from two pages ago. Red , you delivered and I owe you a kidney.
Gotta love the details around his face. Think he’s trying to keep the Crown/helmet thing and I love it.
Something tells me void dragon ain’t gonna like his host being threatened like that…
alt text: some guys always gotta make it a height thing
What now? A truly shiny being
A scornful Tynan is what we’re seing
Can’t believe how much these boss fights Dragon.
But if Tynan now needs to “make it a height thing”, this implies he’s becoming significantly weaker. While initially facing of with Zuurith, as Red herself pointed out, he didn’t feel the need to, because he was so confident in his superiority. little wizard
big lizard
I’m not sure if the original will show up, but I messed the poem up in a different comment. This is a fixed version.
Shocked, Erin’s face falls
As dragon Tynan appears
Air sparks with lightning
@DoomCard10
Maybe White-Eyes-Blue-Dragon will fight Yellow-Eyes-Black-Dragon
To Bush Guardian:
Or, third option, both things happen. Void Dragon does admittedly look a bit more likely, though.

(I was scrolling through the previous pages trying to figure out what I had previously called Erin’s potential parallel-to-Michael appearance and found that tidbit in the process)
Erin: “My dragon’s bigger.”
I CALLED IT!
ooo, dragon. the smile is a little creepy and the gold markings are pretty.
one a completely unrelated note, has anyone seen the new pokemon trailer?
TL;DR: when the comments section couldn’t possibly mention Mr. Hubris’s height enough, now it has to be acknowledged in canon…
Dragon fight, dragon fight!
That’s a big boy
I love the way you draw hands
Erin: “That’s not a dragon.”
Tynan: “wat?”
Void: “THIS IS A DRAGON.”
Hella shiny dragon Tynan! Absolutely gorgeous, and VERY impactful page.
…don’t you fething dare chomp on young mister knowitall, though.
@OngoingConversationCouplet I very much agree… or, HOPE it is the right analysis!
To alolanvulpix:

I predict that we will see a third party join the fight that isn’t voidy namely the paladin monster hunter.
Alolanvulpix:
I have seen the trailer and now I can’t choose because I love the new legendaries. Because they look like lizards.
Once again im gonna say-tess/erin have you heard of the warf affect?
Tynan, man, you aren’t the most intimidating dragon in this picture
Dragon showdown?
It’s REALLY not about his height, it’s about him not being an Enormous Fuck-You Dragon.
Oh so THAT’S where Lance got his Dragonite.
Boop the snoot
Okay. Hear me out, if Tynan can shapeshift into a dragon it is possible that the light dragon worshipped by the paladins is also a regular god shapeshifted into a dragon. @Redstick It’s only happened once. Also, when you use literally non-literally it’s not useful as a word.
oh my gods he beautifull!!
a dragon?????!!!! coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool yeah thats fine its cool its gonna be ok 🙂
Just roll sideways, EZ. What do you mean this isnt Dark Souls?
Egad, that’s scary, especially with all dragon!Tynan’s focus on just Erin. No wonder he looked so desperate when he threw that fireball. Fat lot of good that did.
He’s not the only one that can suddenly dragon.
Wait… does this mean that Erin is gonna embrace the dark dragon inside of him to defeat the storm dragon?
Read this panel while listening to Gytaro’s entrance theme, from season two of Demon Slayer. Perfect
umm, I just realized that void might literally be held in the center of the earth. They are fighting on a mountain, no void ain’t coming Erin has to be close to the ground or the dragon can’t even speak to him. or I’m wrong, still possibilities.(side note i think void plans on destroying the planet)
Evil Overlord Rule 34: I will not turn into a snake. It never helps.
Still just a really big problem though.
Bluefire: i like lechonk. and the one that might be a pikachu clone i forget its name.
D-…DID TYNAN JUST TURN INTO A FUCKING RAIJU?!
(For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically a lightning-based You-Kai of Japanese folklore, and while usually taking the form if a blueish wolf, it sometimes takes the form of a tiger or a dragon.)

Vote Tynan for lost Dragon of Hydropower 😀 stunning.
*breathe in deep*
DRAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOON!
Behold, An Enormous “F*ck You” Dragon !!!
BIG FUCKING DRAGON
Tess: “Ooh, more to hit!”
