Either way, loving the subtle storytelling touches sprinkled in here and there to add that tasty flavor to the overarching plot driving these crazy kids forward. ^-^ Or maybe these crazy kids have hijacked the plot. Also very possible. XD

I know that this is a joke, and i totally don’t hold it against you, but as an ace person myself, it feels kinda bad to have someone lamenting over kendal’s lack of attraction. I understand that you might want to ship him with other characters, but being ace isn’t something other people are *allowed* to be upset about. you don’t get upset because somebody is lesbian. you don’t get upset because somebody is straight! everyone is valid, and it feels weird to lament the fact that an ace person… is ace? if that makes sense?

@Huffle: Back in Hilltop, when Aliuna was dreaming as Life Mum (1-9-16), she could sense Gleicann’s presence as a bright concentration of nature energy, and next to him Kendal’s blindingly brilliant blue energy aura stuck out like a sore thumb covered in giant neon lights that all scream “VASH’S VESSEL”.
After this, it doesn’t take a huge deductive leap on her part to realize that the other city gods probably share the same ability to sense his presence, especially not when Kendal all but confirmed it to her sotto voce earlier that morning.
Finally, we see an attempt to bring Falst closer to the group.

I dated two girls in middle school; not out of love, but out of a sense of societal obligation, because I had never been informed that there was a viable alternative. Most people think willingly staying single is a recipe for ostracism, so I had been taught that not having a girlfriend made me less of a person. It wasn’t until I was 17 when I finally learned that I could put a name to this facet of my personality, and that others like me (albeit in small numbers) exist in the world. I hope that aro/ase spectrum representation improves over the years (I’ll help with it when I get around to making stories of my own).

It should be okay to be your own person, and not need justification from others, and that’s often not portrayed very well in media. Interact with who you want how you want, without making anyone uncomfortable.
im not aroace, im pan and im a huge shipper, but i am not just a romance shipper, after all you can ship something platonically (gen DOES exist ^^) so i love seeing all the interactions even if they aren’t romantic. besides, with this comic, i don’t feel much romance in this story so i don’t really ship anyone in this comic other than platonically. like honestly, im all for gen falstxerin, i like the opposites as friends dynamic lol. so while i normally do ship romantically and gravitate towards a romantic pairing, there are fics where i dont and where its just all gen shipping to me. besides even as a shipper, it feels weird to me where everyone tries to pair up everyone in a story esp when they pair them in het relationships even if they have no interactions. that does not happen in real life so why are we trying to do that in fiction? anyways that’s just my thought on it

When I was 16, I felt obliged to do a relationship with a classmate due to them being popular and societal expectations about dating, especially the incident where I sat next to a random kid and got pulled up by a bully who asked me if we were dating. I felt absolutely awful the entire time and luckily was able to pull myself out. The classmate didn’t seem to mind, they had a bunch of followers. Now I eat lunch in the guidance counselor’s office so nobody does this to me again.
And I’ve revised my own stories to dismantle the disastrous relationships I wrote in because I felt I had to have a romantic subplot. I feel a lot more comfortable writing now because I can totally be ace (aroace?) In peace. If nobody sees my stories, nobody can complain about how I made such significant age gaps in characters that none of them would be shippable.
I’ll add my opinion to the aroace conversation. While I agree with all the points being made about it being a valid trait that shouldn’t be pressured to change, I have to say, I don’t really get why some of you are having this reaction to Nothing to see here’s comment. People wanna ship, if you have non-ace friends (and statistically you absolutely do), you know that it’s just fun for them to joke about it and talk about what chemistry may or may not be there. I as an aroace see someone jokingly lamenting that they can’t ship an ace character, and I don’t feel like that’s an attack on me or that it invalidates asexuality. I feel like this might be a bit of an overreaction on the part of PersonMcPerson and Pistachioandpit. Like I get that you’re tired of toxic shippers, but there’s no need to extend those negative feelings over to people who are just joking around and speculating about the characters they like. If they were trying to force Kendal into the ship despite him being confirmed ace, then I’m with you. But they’re not. So there’s zero reason to get defensive here
