Last seen possessed by an entity we can only assume is the allegedly mythical “Lady” the Paladins worship, said to be the complete antithesis to the Void Dragon.
I’m a bit late, but this is referring to a specific piece played during the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! A lot of players of that game use it as a way to reference a sort of “oh crud” feeling as if you hear it in game, you’re probably maybe a second away from taking a laser to the face
The Light Dragon said she was “sending a messenger to the paladins in the area” to her champion back in chapter 7. (Thanks Zer0 W0lf for posting the link further down)
I’d think this is at least on the same continent as the Storm used to be.
Probably not, the dragon said the paladens must be warned, so it would probably go to the biggest paladen stronghold, and if there was a giant paladen stronghold on the small, mostly uninhabited continent of Helm, which Erin had visited before, Erin would probably know. And if Erin knows he would off created an elaborate and illustrious plans to sneak on by and would have gone over it like, a hundred times with the crew. Also I’m pretty sure Erin said Helm was flat, and this is quite mountainous. I think this stronghold is on one of the polls if you look at the world map, there is 2 poles, north and south.
“Don’t worry Nameless Guard 1, it’s just the Plot and it’s not even going to kill anyone just yet. Though I’d suggest retiring before the next visit by anything or anyone unexpected.”
Page Recap:
We cut to something else entirely, and can see a tall barren mountain facing the coast (probably the coastline of Helm). A dragon is flying towards the island, and its eyes are glowing blue…
What I’m thinking here is that the Light Dragon is going to tell the people of Helm to not trust Erin (possibly explaining about Void Dragon and stuff). Which is going to cause problems. Welp.
When will Red add a like button, like, just a like button, no dislike, I WANT TO SHOW HOW MUCH I LIKE THESE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING COMMENTS WITHOUT TYPING LONG COMMENTS THAT LENGTHEN THE COMMENT SECTION AND MAKE IT LONGER TO REACH THE BOTTOM!
Well atleast the paladins are being alerted about Erin, after the junior archivist left without saying a word I was slightly worried that his whole positioning my friends as the one thing between the void dragon and the paladins so he doesn’t kill them plan was going to fall through.
It’s an NCIS reference. Though given the gesture in question became known specifically as a ‘Gibbs slap’ because of the show and regardless of who else uses it, maybe not.
(I referred to it as ‘slapping someone upside the head’ before I knew there was a name for it, but the character I had been writing probably wouldn’t have known the reference anyway, so make of that what you will.
Anonymous Aurora Question #37: Who of the Characters will/would get seasick on the journey to helm? (Side characters, Villains and characters that will actually not travel to Helm are still included)
Tbh it would be funny if Erin got seasick and VD is just in the back of his mind going: “I killed Water! His remains can’t sicken me! Or my vessel!” (or something along those lines.)
I like @Starfall’s answer! I wonder if Trusk would have more problems due to his size or less due to his Ferin constitution? I assume Shrike would be able to deal with seasickness better, maybe with the help of some alchemy or just her innate dodgy personality. But I am being unkind to Shrike, because she is the Villian dejour.
I can TOTALLY see Shrike being seasick but desperately trying not to show it. Actually, that could fit with a few characters- like Theia maybe? Shrike and Theia on the boat not wanting the other to think she’s weak bc of seasickness so hiding it and Trusk sitting there, totally fine, wondering what they’re so worked up about.
As I mentioned before, Kendall getting seasick is both likely and hilarious.
Erin would get seasick, but he’s got some potions in his bag specifically designed to counteract that effect. Unfortunately, it turns out they don’t work so well with Kendall’s unusual physiology.
I don’t think Kendal will get seasick. He’s not good enough at being human to wind up with such a frailty. He probably has perfect balance wherever he goes. Can’t you just see everyone else clinging to something as the ship heels over hard, while Kendal somehow stands arrow straight and looks around in bewilderment? Kind of like Tony Curtis in the pie-fight scene in The Amazing Race?
Other than that, I’d personally make Alinua most seasick, and Falst second-least seasick. Erin will think everyone is capable of his big-brain, mind-over-matter cure, and will become quite punchable over it.
Lord Stefan you say? (Lazytown’s “We are Number One” starts playing in my head)
I wonder, could this guy be the Paladin’s leader. If Niluca heads the archives, and the Paladin Champion is the main field operative, he could be the top boss who gives the orders, or at least a regional head. Also, check out those lines on his face matching the white of his hair; could that be a result of his Paladin connection like how the Champion has white hair?
If this is Helm, and that dragon from the storm is here to warn them about Erin, I find that strange. Erin has only told other gang members about their intended destination; Paladins could figure out Erin is heading east, but how they could have drawn the Helm conclusion so quickly? Maybe this is the eastern shore of the continent we’re still on and they’re hoping to intercept Erin there. I guess it depends whether that’s a sunrise or sunset we’re looking at to tell what coastline this is.
Prediction for next week: the storm dragon gives Stefan the news about V.D. having a vessel; we don’t actually know how many Paladins are away of this information aside from Theia and the Paladin Champion. Although the dragon, though the lady, can also give details about Erin’s face and links to Asera she learnt through Theia.
I wonder whether that information, the fact the vessel is the elemental magus, and the eastward trajectory has, or will, clue the Paladins to the Soulshaper monks being the intended destination.
When the Light Dragon was talking to Theia she mentioned that she now knows Erin’s name. Could that have something to do with why she knows where he’s going?
I agree, it IS weird. Since the Paladins obviously knew about the Storm Of Magic, I would have thought they would build a stronghold close by. Instead, the Lady has possessed this dragon (which seemed to act as a sentry of the Storm) only to fly away and inform the Paladins face-to-face, when she can clearly speak to them telepathically (whenever she wants, presumably).
In short, the Lady’s emergency procedures make no sense to me. She warned the Champion immediately. Why couldn’t she have warned all the other Paladins as well? Why didn’t this dragon go straight after Erin? Why is the nearest major Paladin stronghold so far away?
im sorta bullshitting but id guess the lady only picks one guy to be her champion? with all the direct possessing and stuff? like idk maybe dragon-paladin mind whatever is reserved to the important people (junior archivist champion whatever.) although that doesnt explain why the actual archivist niluca didnt know anything. idk
It’s possible the Lady cannot actually speak to any Paladin at will, but could speak directly to Theia because she was carrying the vault. When the shield went up behind Theia at the start of the storm, she says, “All right, my lady. Let’s get out of here.” To me that indicated that the vault itself has, or allows, a direct connection to her. (Perhaps made from the hide of an early incarnation?)
We’ve also seen from Life’s attempts to communicate that unshielded contact with a Primordial can be devastating. Another reason for the Lady to not attempt direct contact.
Now why the Paladin’s weren’t watching the Storm directly, or why they didn’t keep an eye on any Elemental Magus that might arise (since it would take an Elemental Magus to set off the Storm’s trap), I have no clue.
Hey Red! Just finished binging your entire comic! Looks like things are finally picking up!
Also, just putting in my two cents, there is *no way* they’re gonna find anything at the temple. It’s a classic “darkest hour” moment when this place that you’ve been building up for several years doesn’t actually have anything of value.
I also love the sparkles. I’m not entirely sure if they’re rock sparkles, ice sparkles, or sparkles of ice-coated rock, but they’re very pretty either way.
I think when I first looked at this page, my brain just saw white stuff on the mountains and decided to assume it was snow. But upon closer inspection, you’re right – it’s much too sparse (while still being bright) to be snow, so it must be something else! Maybe something magical about the stone in the mountains here?
Okay, but like, are we going to talk about how hilariously accurate the next chapter cover is? Like I actually burst out laughing when I saw it, I mean Erin is objectively a million times a better person than Victor but oh my god that’s priceless!!
idk if anyone else has noticed this or if red mentioned it at any point it out but the chapter 2 cover looks nearly identical to the painting “wanderer above the sea of fog.” not sure what this means but its interesting
AH dragon
For mobile readers.

We found our chapter cover Paladin.
We also found our chapter cover Set of Eyes
Gotta admit I didn’t expect this to be an Achewood reference. Okay, I will ascribe Philippe’s personality to this four-eyed dragon.
Tumblr text: what a surprise it’s a dragon
Twitter text: the colder the environment the more extensive the floof that’s just science
Uh who is thaaaat?
That’s the dragon Tess punched!
She didn’t know it was their chunk of wasteland.
Last seen possessed by an entity we can only assume is the allegedly mythical “Lady” the Paladins worship, said to be the complete antithesis to the Void Dragon.
I wonder if this is the same continent? It doesn’t look like the familiar terrain.
*guardian piano music starts playing*
‘Excuse me Brain but what’s difference between a Guardian and a Grand pinao?’ Pinky asked with a confused blink.
they’re referring to the piano intro to vs guardian from breath of the wild

A paladin stronghold, maybe? Knowing Erin’s luck it’s probably on Helm
The Light Dragon said she was “sending a messenger to the paladins in the area” to her champion back in chapter 7. (Thanks Zer0 W0lf for posting the link further down)
I’d think this is at least on the same continent as the Storm used to be.
I mean going by the map we saw in 1.8.1 it looks like the only icy places are on the continent they’re going to so yeah.
There’s a link to a world map at the top of the webpage, so you can see more icy areas.
Probably not, the dragon said the paladens must be warned, so it would probably go to the biggest paladen stronghold, and if there was a giant paladen stronghold on the small, mostly uninhabited continent of Helm, which Erin had visited before, Erin would probably know. Outpost by the sea
Light’s dragon vessel arrives
“Belay the alarm”
“Don’t worry Nameless Guard 1, it’s just the Plot and it’s not even going to kill anyone just yet. Though I’d suggest retiring before the next visit by anything or anyone unexpected.”

Also a prediction: I think Erin is going to use wind and water magic to speed up their boat. It makes sense and cuts down on travel time.
Knowing Red’s worldbuilding, the ship might be built with lacrimae for this very reason.
True, though that probably be one of the more expensive ships. Which Erin can no doubt afford to hire.
“my lord, this big metal lady punched me out of my land! also doom and darkness threatens the land I guess”

A paladin headquarter? One dude with hair
And a dragon arrives with no time to spare
Stage Whisper :I’ld have used ‘long hair’.’. Suddenly the critic is Gibb’s slapped by the man shelf! The crowd goes wild!
Is that an NCIS reference or am I going crazy?
It’s an NCIS reference. Though given the gesture in question became known specifically as a ‘Gibbs slap’ because of the show and regardless of who else uses it, maybe not.
(I referred to it as ‘slapping someone upside the head’ before I knew there was a name for it, but the character I had been writing probably wouldn’t have known the reference anyway, so make of that what you will.
It was known as slapping someone upside the head many many decades before NCIS even existed. Ask my smart-aleck nephew.
In my neck of the woods, we’d say Gibbs gave people “dope slaps.” As in, “slap for being a dope (old slang for stupid or foolish).”
Anonymous Aurora Question #37: Who of the Characters will/would get seasick on the journey to helm? (Side characters, Villains and characters that will actually not travel to Helm are still included)
Kendal, because vash has never been on a boat
Dainix, who has never seen a large body of water in his life
I can see all of the protagonists getting seasick except for Tess.
And Erin. No doubt he’s gone on overseas research trips before. There’s also his past encounter with the Soulshaper Monks.
Tbh it would be funny if Erin got seasick and VD is just in the back of his mind going: “I killed Water! His remains can’t sicken me! Or my vessel!” (or something along those lines.)
Oh, my goodness, this makes me want to see Vidi get seasick soooooooo bad
Falst, because cats don’t like water so obviously neither do lionboys
I like @Starfall’s answer! I wonder if Trusk would have more problems due to his size or less due to his Ferin constitution? She mentioned Erin’s face, but not his name. https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-18-26/
Welp. I guess my memory just sucks then. But then again if the Light Dragon knows what Erin looks like she MIGHT be able to watch him? Idk.
I don’t think this guy is the organizational head, but he’s definitely part of the paladins anime miniboss squad.

A dragon comes to Winterfell..
LOL… I was thinking of the Wall
AAAAAA IT’S THE DRAGON THAT SAW ERIN IN 1.6.27 OMG
Oooh, new Country/City/Faction! ….
Oh hey, it’s that white-haired Champion guy! How long ago was he featured, a few dozen chapters?
Where? Neither of them are him. https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-7-31/
No, the Champion is very different. This character is new. He vaguely resembles the Arenamaster, but he is also not him.
Oooo! New place, new characters, friendly Paladin dragon — what’s not to love?
Whomst
Hey Red! Just finished binging your entire comic! Looks like things are finally picking up!

Reminder of the last time we saw this dragon (it’s been quite a while!): https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-6-27/
DRAAAAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for the reminders, I had entirely forgotten about that dragon 😅 *it’s been a whiiiiile~*
Okay, but like, are we going to talk about how hilariously accurate the next chapter cover is? Like I actually burst out laughing when I saw it, I mean Erin is objectively a million times a better person than Victor but oh my god that’s priceless!!
Yeah, there’s a funny Tumblr thread about it
HECK YEAH MORE DRAGONS!!!
TL;DR: Here be dragons, er, ONE dragon.
did that thing eat at all on its way here
I hope so, a hungry is never a happy.
How long was our poor boy flying for?
Better yet, HOW FAR AWAY IS THIS PLACE?!?!
man he took quite a while to warn the paladins.
idk if anyone else has noticed this or if red mentioned it at any point it out but the chapter 2 cover looks nearly identical to the painting “wanderer above the sea of fog.” not sure what this means but its interesting
oops i meant chapter 1
