Also Erin’s magic is based on training concentration and composure, while Alinua’s magic is based on emotion and instinct. So, there is a precident for their behavior in this instance.
If Falst ends up redeeming himself and joining the group later on (which, given his prevalence in the trope talk videos, I consider to be a highly likely scenario), it might take a while for her to trust him, even if Kendal and Erin accept him more quickly
And in case you’re wondering how that’s confirmed, we know his name due to leaked filenames of his sketches; I deliberately avoided using his name for a while because that’s technically a (minor) spoiler… but I realized that it would just be easier to use his name when discussing his motives and actions. Plus, everyone else is already referring to him by name, so why bother feigning secrecy when the secret’s already out?
I can only assume that the academy also teaches its students to make a specific face in the times of “discussingacontroversialtopictoyourfriendthatwasborn9daysago“ very important
Well, he is the town doctor. They might just be like the posters of your heart or liver on the walls of your doctor’s office. Either that or he’s not a very good doctor and often needs a visual aid handy.
I realy like how layered the conflicts are so far. Right now the endgoal is to rescue Vash and defeating the collector, but to do that they need to fix Erin’s little possesion problem and to do that they need his bag stolen by an angry lion boi. It’s a nice narative structrure.
hey, guys, maybe don’t lecture the dude with the knowledge of a god about certain things… I’m thinking he has some divine insight about this particular instance. it might also be why he’s not close to anyone else and the only one not sitting down.
Oh sure, Alinua, let’s not focus on the fact that he’s been injuring people too, or on the fact that his violence was caused by centuries of systemic bigotry; the chimera is *clearly* the only victim in this situation
I’m halfway sure the good doctor isn’t what they seem. Based on the points our godling friend has raised, it seems likely to me that the ferin might be trying to undo something the doctor did. They might not have created the chimera, but were instead trying to find a way to reverse it.
Alinua’s foil sense is tingling!
Alinua: was an outcast so she wouldn’t set chimeras on people
Lion boi: sets chimeras on people because he’s an outcast
Its a distinct possibly, I’d say.
Of course, he also could NOT be the one making the chimeras and is instead trying to fix them.
Or the party’s assumptions are completely correct but when does that ever happen?
maybe but if there were ferins in vash, kendal would be the most knowledgeable. like kendal said, vash knew everything about all of his citizens, so if there were ferin, vash would know them.
Stealing from Erin and making Alinua mad. Looks like you’re outvoted Kendal, Falst is going down.
Now I’m interested to hear his backstory from him, would be quite interesting if it differed greatly from what our protags assume here.
Have to say Lion-boy does have both the motive and means to do this to the town. Still, to make the assumption that he’s making the chimeras is a little premature, still be an idea to go after him for the thefts but then get his side of the story and analyse that lacrima to see if it has been used.
TL;DR: Creepy thief guy is traumatized, so he probably wants to use the magic battery to make more ripoff chimeras and make them attack the town. Pink floof doesn’t not like.
welp, whose ready for 5 man band member number 4? kendal is the leader, erin is the lancer, and alinua is the heart. guess the ferin guy would be the big guy? or maybe he becomes more of a lancer and erin becomes the smart guy
Something I realized about the Collector. She has life magic to make chimeras. She has stone magic to bury the City of Vash. Does she maybe have other magic? All 6 even? Could she be the supposedly-dead previous Elemental Magus, who figured out the Void Dragon’s plan and intentionally made Kendal as part of a counter strategy?
A bit of a far-fetched theory, I admit.
Didn’t expect Alinua to be angrier than Erin ?
Erin probably wants to maintain his composure in front of a fellow member of civilization. ?
Also Erin’s magic is based on training concentration and composure, while Alinua’s magic is based on emotion and instinct. So, there is a precident for their behavior in this instance.
Oooohhh! Alinua is holding a grudge against him… I mean she’s right. I wonder how it will affect the story going forward.
If Falst ends up redeeming himself and joining the group later on (which, given his prevalence in the trope talk videos, I consider to be a highly likely scenario), it might take a while for her to trust him, even if Kendal and Erin accept him more quickly
who is Falst?
The Ferin who stole Erin’s bag and slashed Kendal.
I’m sorry, but Falst STOLE ERIN’S BOOKBAG. Even if he could somehow be redeemed from this heinous crime, Erin would never trust him.
Today on aurora, Erin makes faces upon being reminded that Kendal and Alinua both have strong opinions.
Also I love that in the 4th panel Erin and Jolon are making the same face. I shall henceforth refer to the 2 of them collectively as Team Academy.
I can only assume that the academy also teaches its students to make a specific face in the times of “discussingacontroversialtopictoyourfriendthatwasborn9daysago“ very important
Future additions to Team Academy are eagerly awaited
Oh dear. I don’t like the look of those posters on the wall…

Maybe it was so natural for Vash to have ferins in his city, that it didn’t occur to Kendal that other places might be actively repulsive to them.
Now thats some great set up, i like the nuances here X3
Oh sure, Alinua, let’s not focus on the fact that he’s been injuring people too, or on the fact that his violence was caused by centuries of systemic bigotry; the chimera is *clearly* the only victim in this situation
Well, Alinua knows a bit about getting abandoned by society. If anyone gets to judge, it’s her.
I’m halfway sure the good doctor isn’t what they seem. Based on the points our godling friend has raised, it seems likely to me that the ferin might be trying to undo something the doctor did. They might not have created the chimera, but were instead trying to find a way to reverse it.
I am DEEPLY mistrustful of the doctor
Alinua’s foil sense is tingling!
Alinua: was an outcast so she wouldn’t set chimeras on people
Lion boi: sets chimeras on people because he’s an outcast
Alinua knows a few things about being forced to abandon her home
Oh dear, I feel like we’re getting a new party member.
Kendal knows this guys sus
The ferin is trying to reverse his curse, isn’t he.
Its a distinct possibly, I’d say.
Of course, he also could NOT be the one making the chimeras and is instead trying to fix them.

Beat me to the punch
Crap, now you’ve done it. You went and made the heart angry.
Riff raff
STREET RAT
I don’t BUY THAT
If only they’d LOOK CLOSER

dangit, that was supposed to be a reply. hey, the lolest, this was meant for you.
If you look at the first chapter, there are certainly some animal like beings in the crowd.
Which trope talk is falst in?
A couple. At least the ones on time travel and mind control
*gasp* speculation! what if falst is trying to turn himself human with the lacrima?
Stealing from Erin and making Alinua mad. Looks like you’re outvoted Kendal, Falst is going down.

Damn, she ANGRY, probably justified but i’m not sure the ferin is at fault.
sounds like a frankenstein’s monster – type case
