It’s almost like Dang, except as far as I’m aware, Jolon is not a word of exclaimation.
On a side note, it would be hilarious if that actually was real in this world, like “Jolon! I’ve just been Robbed!”, and Jolon appears out of no-where screaming “Does anybody in this vicinity require medical attention!”
Erin: Is possessed by an ancient primordial evil and almost used to free that apocalyptic dragon from an eternal prison; is mildly concerned.
Also Erin: Has book bag stolen by local forest ruffian; FREAKS OUT.
Oh holy cow, someone else who read Skulduggery Pleasant! Fun story; I’m planning a character in a DnD game my group is going to run as a loose reference to him.
Been a while since I read ’em, though. I was borrowing them from the library.
He could also be talking about the ferin; the innkeeper (who doesn’t seem to be very… woke, but she’s the only word we’ve got) mentioned that they had been injuring travelers for month-equivalents, and the thief *did* tear Kendal’s arm open and drop him twenty feet (six-ish meters) out of a tree
Maybe the guard spread the word after they arrived? Kendal’s arm was still scratched at that point and even if he didn’t notice it, the innkeeper/cook said travelers keep getting attacked in the woods.
If it was loaded with walnuts, I would understand Alinua’s disgust, but from the looks of it, that’s just ordinary white bread (or even sourdough!), and when that’s fresh out of the oven, served with probably-meaty stew for flavor, it’s f***ing amazing
Ooh… if she is, I could understand her disappointment, especially if the stew is made with ingredients she doesn’t like eating. Source: I have celiac disease
Still, we don’t know if she has dietary restrictions or not. (Imagine Red’s reaction when someone on tumblr asks her if Alinua has celiac disease)
How very dare, Alinua, bread+stew is fucking based. Also I don’t wanna hear it from someone who subsisted off of acorns and leaves for the past ten years.
Doctor Jolon looks like he’s in his thirties; according to Red, Erin is 19, meaning Jolon would’ve graduated about at least eight or nine years before Erin arrived
Allinua: *exists*
Fans: “You are wonderful and we love you.”
Also Allinua: *makes a comment suggesting stew and bread isn’t much*
Fans: “You f****** tree hugger squirrel piece of s*** you.”
Seems I need to post that old newspaper recipe for Hearty Vegetable Stew that my family swears by, that is divine with a slice of homemade bread. I even slather cold stew on homemade bread for lunch, it’s wonderful!
Only nine days! It’s been the better part of a year since I started (I was on the one with nyoom when I got caught up) and it’s only been nine days? I guess it makes sense if you read it as a completed book which I sure do hope we get a paper version of, but for a web comic three days a week 3 days does not feel accurate to my time investment. I still love the comic though.
Hmm, according to the calander page, sword doesn’t often appear as full at the same time as shield. Could both moons being full have an added power to magic on the green crystal of falst/magic in general?
Do the moons affect magic? I looked through the “Word of Red” document that The Lolest sent on the previous page; I found no reference to the moons augmenting magic abilities, elemental or otherwise
Erin, I know you’re fascinated and excited at this new development but I get the feeling Kendal is a little hung-up over the “not even slightly human” thing.
As for Alinua and stew … maybe she prefers vegetarian meals where possible?
TL;DR: Man of Corpse is finally on the other end of the exposition game. Hubris mcNerdman wants to test it, has be be remninded Man of Corpse is still a baby corpse. Cthulhu’s apartment is back with food (and exposition) who is presumably Dr. J makes a dramatic entrance.
Who dat? He knows how to make a dramatic entrance.
I believe that would be the aforementioned Doctor Jolon.
How convenient that he shows up just as Alinua is like: “I know who can help us with our Ferin problem!”
Doctor Jolon comes running: “YOu cAllED?”
Was anyone injured? Please someone be injured I have nothing else to do!
Can we turn this into lore? Is this a thing we can do?
Erin: Learns Kendal’s origin story and takes it in stride
Also Erin: Hears that he’s only been alive for 9 days and freaks out
Erin: Is possessed by an ancient primordial evil and almost used to free that apocalyptic dragon from an eternal prison; is mildly concerned.
Also Erin: Has book bag stolen by local forest ruffian; FREAKS OUT.
He gets a pass on that one. Book bags are sacred territory: for all you know, someone’s Divine Comedy could be in there!
Fair enough. I’m more of a ‘Metaphysics Of Morals’ guy, myself.
Kant, I believe? I’ll be reading the Groundwork for said metaphysics later this semester.
I’m not much of a divine comedy guy, but if falst stole any of my Skulduggery Pleasant books, I would TOTALLY freak
In my circles theft of Pratchett would be a stoning offence.
Oh holy cow, someone else who read Skulduggery Pleasant! Fun story; I’m planning a character in a DnD game my group is going to run as a loose reference to him.

… doctor’s here.
Also, bread and stew is not that bad Alinua. I mean, it could be some real good stew.
I love the doctor’s dramatic entrance. He’s just SO DESPERATE
Wait till he sees Erin…
Nice placement of the horns behind Alinua’s head. Idk if it means anything but I like it 😀
*insert horny joke that Alinua doesn’t deserve here*
*offended-on-her-behalf gasp*
*joke about she’s a demon due to her saying bread and stew is bad news*
This doctor is cute as hecc, love their design!
A doctor indeed! Lol
Erin: *lusting for the himbo*
Vashn’t: i’m 9 days old
FBI: *concerned look*
Thats a healer who cares X3 sweet
I like the doc already. 🙂
Doctor Jolon? More like Dr. John- “I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time!”
I mean, one guy got his soul ripped out? But that was a while ago.
Ok, the doctor is DEFINITELY behind the chimera attacks. How else would he know there was one?
He could also be talking about the ferin; the innkeeper (who doesn’t seem to be very… woke, but she’s the only word we’ve got) mentioned that they had been injuring travelers for month-equivalents, and the thief *did* tear Kendal’s arm open and drop him twenty feet (six-ish meters) out of a tree
Idk I think sourdough is pretty awful
That was meant to be a reply to the below comment
blasphemy
Maybe the guard spread the word after they arrived? Kendal’s arm was still scratched at that point and even if he didn’t notice it, the innkeeper/cook said travelers keep getting attacked in the woods.
what kind of bread is it?
If it was loaded with walnuts, I would understand Alinua’s disgust, but from the looks of it, that’s just ordinary white bread (or even sourdough!), and when that’s fresh out of the oven, served with probably-meaty stew for flavor, it’s f***ing amazing
Maybe she’s gluten-free?
Ooh… if she is, I could understand her disappointment, especially if the stew is made with ingredients she doesn’t like eating. Source: I have celiac disease
Still, we don’t know if she has dietary restrictions or not. (Imagine Red’s reaction when someone on tumblr asks her if Alinua has celiac disease)
Is celiac disease even a thing in this world?
Primordial soul gets hit with a blast of energy from an all consuming Godly entity: I sleep
Primordial soul consumes gluten: real shit
Maybe red has only ever had bad stew?
But how can you have bad stew, isn’t that impossible?
Trust me, there are people out there what can ruin ANY recipe.
I like this doctor already, Red’s character design is just That Good
How very dare, Alinua, bread+stew is fucking based. Also I don’t wanna hear it from someone who subsisted off of acorns and leaves for the past ten years.
I love him already
Doctor Jolon looks like he’s in his thirties; according to Red, Erin is 19, meaning Jolon would’ve graduated about at least eight or nine years before Erin arrived
Also what the f*** Alinua, bread is delicious
Will the floofy haired doctor join the crew? They certainly have the floof for it
You really want to live up to your name, don’t you?
Yes. I’ve done it on every character revealed up till now (I think) and I don’t plan on stopping
I will be disappointed if this bit ever stops.

“YO ERIN HOW DID THAT WHOLE STORM THING PAN OUT”
“EY MAN, IT WAS ALRIGHT, JUST GOT POSSESSED BY A POWERFUL DRAGON GOD, NO BIG DEAL BRO”
…
“WHAT THE F-“
Panel 5, Alinua has weird horn/antler things perfectly behind her head. I detect foreshadowing?
we already had Erin but now the section commander’s here too.
So, uh, this “not human” thing seems to be eating at Kendal a bit. I hope he doesn’t get brought down *too* much by it…
Alinua has such spiky shoulder pads
Only nine days! It’s been the better part of a year since I started (I was on the one with nyoom when I got caught up) and it’s only been nine days? Stew is an art form. I will stand for no maligning of that great and venerable culinary technique.
Erin, I know you’re fascinated and excited at this new development but I get the feeling Kendal is a little hung-up over the “not even slightly human” thing.

“Cthulhu’s apartment” ? Gold star.
ELEVEN DA- oh sorry NINE DAYS
But…I LOVE bread and stew.
And all this wacky fun took place in nine days?
I need time to rest.
Alinua looks so happy when she’s delivering the soup and good news!
I like how in the fith panel Alinua looks like she has antlers.
Red really likes to play with the camera angle, this time it seems like Alinua has horns. I like that.
Alt text: wonder who that is
(
In a future page, Kendal says he doesn’t sleep. So he’s been alive and awake for NINE DAYS.)Alinua: I’m baaaaaaaaack, still go the moves, I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaack…
Erin’s convinced, and put things together
Ali has food, Jolon cuts them off altogether
Man, it’s a shame what we learn about him later, he’s very pretty
