I feel like the last panel in Friday’s page was a cue for VD to come, mostly because glowing yellow eyes on a dark background?

So, just gonna say that the conductivity of human tissue is about to really bite Falst here, the lightning might go into Erin, but it should flow and arc up into falst due to their contact.
But Ferin are immune to magic
Incapable of magic, isn’t it? Like, Falst has a 0% chance of learning how to throw Lightning or similar, but once magic has already made the Lightning he’s just another bag of salty fluids to conduct it. Otherwise he wouldn’t have had to dodge the magically created magma blast. (Lava Bending! 😀 Still makes me happy.)
It’s hard to say. Ferin are resistant to magic, which is why mages have failed to lift the curse that resulted in the original Ferin. This also means that Ferin cannot use magic, but I’m not sure where the spell ends and the lightning begins, as it were.

We all knew Erin was weak without his magic, but to define him “fragile” like a crystal glass feels worrying… Did he notice something else?
Maybe he thinks, since non-ferin don’t have enhanced regenerative powers, that all non-ferin are brittle?
Also, a delightfully menacing line just popped into my head: “Bones are meant to be broken.”

So really the ferin should have noticed that Erin said “It’s lucky WE found you” and remember there was that third person traveling with them. Also I the last mage that came after you was probably not proficient in all the elements…
He might not be the first mage to come after you, but he probably is the first Ancient Magial Antagonist Who Comes And Goes As They Please
I feel like fire’s going to come into play somewhere along the line by the way that that rune is being framed.

From what I gather, either Erin’s going to do something with fire, Alinua is going to do something with vines, Dark Floof is going to make an appearance to save his fragile avatar, or Kendal’s going to wack the feral catboy on the head with his scabbard.

I wouldn’t take your eyes off him lion-boy, lest you fall victim to hubris too … and third degree burns.
I don’t think VD will emerge unless Erin’s life is definitly threatened and I think that “Don’t move!” would extend to Alinua as well so I think it will be Erin who’ll break this up via fire magic. I am ready to be proven wrong though.
TL;DR: Round 4: hostage situation.
