“wait VD gets a power boost from stones heart?” Read 1/7/19 – he’s imprisoned in one of Stone’s hearts that was transformed into adamant. If the elemental nerd is correct, then VD…wait, that’s not right these days, this isn’t the 1950s…then STI gets stronger when his host is closer to his prison. Of course, that might be just what seems to be happening.
Personally, I like the kind of Paragon that Kendal is. He’s so nice because he is kind of ignorant. It’s more realistic. But please, don’t ruin him by making him distrust people.
Could someone kindly tell me the meaning of this discussion? I understand nothing. Who are Calamity Ganon and the Divine Beasts?
Unless ‘don’t explain the joke’ applies.
I could point you to tvtropes.org where all tropes are examined in excruciating detail but that place is worse than travelling to the Faerie Lands Under the Hill — because you can stop reading any time. You just … don’t.
It’s from Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It’s an open world game where, after completing the tutorial phase, you have the option of taking on dungeons known as the divine beasts to make the final confrontation with the last boss, Calamity Ganon, easier, or head straight to the final boss in the underwear you start the game in.
It’s not really a joke, it’s just that its sort of relatable with Breath of the Wild (you can only understand this if you have entirely completed the game, with divine beasts and all, which I did) Calamity Ganon is the final boss, and the Divine Beasts are ancient Sheikah tech shoot giant lasers at Calamity. At the beginning of the game, they are…being controlled by the blights (waterblight, fireblight, windblight, and thunderblight) which have killed their owners, and you need to take them back, like Erin who is possessed by V.D. Of course, you can just skip that and run to Calamity Ganon and hit him with a stick. You know what, go play the game lady, its great. (To Varda Alighieri, from a big fan of Zelda)
I certainly will! I already got a demonstration of the very first three Zelda games on my dad’s emulator, but I hope to get to Breath of the Wild after I make some progress worth mentioning on Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights 2.
*Incoming Dante/Zelda joke*
Beatrice: (sees Dante in the Dark Wood of Error) It’s dangerous to go alone- take Virgil!
It’s so shocking how quickly dear Pompous Nitwit considered the implications his problem had on someone ELSE’s quest. I fear my affectionate nickname is becoming obsolete.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!
I’m so proud of them!!!
Erin feeling bad about Kendal and considering how badly this would effect his friends in their mission instead of just thinking about himself. He’s come a long way from the hubris filled selfish idiot with no regard to consequences he used to be!
Now he’s a hubris filled idiot who cares about his friends, and takes the time to think things through a little more, and just-!
I love this comic so much!
Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Good to see Erin caring about Kendal’s objective and thanking his friends for the rescue; character development is a go.
Also nice to see Ilia’s pep talk earlier is keeping the angst away from Kendal, at least with regards to the plot. His angst stemming from being a person could still crop up.
TL;DR: Hubris mcNarratorman is happy he got saved, bestows upon the rest of the floofcrew a lore dump, is apparently allergic to the underground intestines.
Man, I love Erin actually showing some gratitude, rather than being all stuck up. Its small, but its great. And him not expecting to be given another favour as in his curing of VD-isease/Waltersickness/Dark-Floof and then being surprised when Kendal and the party decide to help him out with his predicament…. the dynamics, are strong here. Red, this is great so far.
Aw! I genuinely like it when they’re all happy together.
Now, what was that about a dragon?
Companion Quest. Got to get that good ending.
Cue the fanfare!

Wait, ‘Kendal has joined the party’?
Great, Erin’s ego is so big, it isn’t him that joins the party, it’s the others joining him.

wait VD gets a power boost from stones heart? whaaaa? i think i might have missed something
brb rereading the chapter now

Guys? I think I might have spotted the paragon.
Side quest time!
Wait, are we calling the Void Dragon “VD” now?
Because that would mean Erin has VD.
You read it as Wade. Technically, VD has Erin.
In Soviet Aurora, Void Dragon is possessed by YOU!
Sorry.
Dont be, quality slav pan.
Character development!!!!

…so does this mean the “rush right toward Calamity Ganon” metaphor doesn’t work any more?
Looks like they’ll have to free the Divine Beasts after all…

That’s a pun worth remembering. *sniff*
Aww, I love all these floofs so much.

This update is… so wholesome? I cry?
https://aurorawebcomic.fandom.com/wiki/The_Seventh_Element The Wiki has information on the seventh element!!!!
Erin actually thought about other people and how is actions will affect them!
Do I spot… character development?
Awww, Kendal ist the best – i’m not crying ;_;

A quick side quest, a little loot, a bit of XP, and we’re good to go!

In gratitude, then sees the trouble
They help him first, lest problems double
