“I’m already DEAD”
You can see the desperation in his words, Erin was resigned to accept his fate…
But if someone promises to give you the power of all the gods instead of getting eaten alive…
Demon says: A binding pact, seared in flash. I’ll give her to you. Take you to hell and set her free. Redemption John. After all these years.
Chaz: Johny!
Constantine: This is redemption enough. *puts more juice into the spell, finishes killing the demon*
I don’t think this will work. Erin may have hubris, but he’s not an idiot. He might try to control the power eventually , but he knows that now is not the right time.
I bet, that the seventh element is Void. Why, random people might ask. “The first ever Void mage.” On that note, I don’t think Erin is THAT hubristic. He does have SOME intelligence. Enough to give cause for a good little bit of that ego.
Oh, also: the first ‘true’ Void mage? That implies there are others who have some control over the element. The Collector, perhaps?
Red must be laughing at us, taking any tiny hint and trying to explain huge mysteries with it.
I would argue that there is little bigger gratification than to have people think so much about and pay so much detail to something you have created. So probably less laughing and more happiness, I hope.
I disagree.
The lore page for magic talks about how certain materials accumulate soul energy at a notable rate, soul crystal being among them.
I think the runes on those blades she has made are designed to draw in soul energy as well, but in particular the soul energy that actually makes up a living soul, and specifically the soul that just had their body stabbed.
Void magic has only been shown basically erasing other materials out of existence so far, bear in mind that there is generally some aspect of an element that makes it useful for a certain task.
Is an element of destruction realistically going to be useful for being a soul magnet?
I can see the collector taking interest in void magic once she becomes aware it’s a thing (if she doesn’t know of it already), but I don’t think her daggers run on it.

No. No. Erin, don’t listen to him. If you stop this he’ll just keep walking and destroy the world.
But if you want tips on how to bend a god to your will I’m sure the Collector knows a thing or two … Oh man is that going to be a thing? Could Erin be tempted to side with the Collector if she offers a way to stop Walter/Alduin/Shara Ish-void-a/Dark Floof/V.D.?
The Collector may know how to at least remove the dragon rune, and in Erin’s mind would sacrificing the chance of getting Vash back be worth stoping the ancient evil? OOOH the potential drama!
TL;DR: Hubris mcNerdman is dead, according to himself anyway. Walter is getting desperate and tries to bribe mcNerdman with a fair bit of flattery thrown in. Ship, maybe?
I am stupid or noone realised the plot hole? Lightning magic cause paralysis. Ok. That mean both VD and Erin lost control over the body. What’s the point of tempting him to “release”? And how is that even possible? If Erin is in control he should just kill himself right away or tried to go back. But no way VD would let Erin take control for more than 1 moment. So this doesn’t make any sense.
VD can’t move because of the paralysis, which only happens because Erin has willed the lightning to appear, which he can only do because he got a moment to disable his sealing runes by touching his tattoos, and VD can’t get his hand off the tat because of the paralysis, etc. Etc.
At one point, Red stated that there are a thing called sealing rune tattoos, that, when activated, prevent a mage from using there magic if they have one on their body. It prevents accidental and emotional magic casting and leads to more precise spell work. To deactivate the tattoos and use your magic, you need to touch the tattoos. Erin clearly has sealing rune tattoos, seeing as his precise, academic nature would make him desire them and he touches his tattoos every time he casts magic. That being said, all that is needed to use magic is will, the will of the caster can override most things. VD has admin access to Erin’s soul and can bypass the sealing runes while Erin cannot. That being said, it’s still ERIN’S soul, not VD’s, so Erin’s will is what matters here. Erin recontrolled his body for a moment to deactivate his sealing runes and poorly channel lightning magic, because Erin’s will overrides VD when it comes to magic, VD can’t stop Erin from casting the lightning magic. This lightning magic is paralyzing Erin’s body, stopping VD from just removing Erin’s arm from the tattoos and activating the sealing runes again, thus stoping the magic. Erin can stop the magic whenever he wants.

You the last 2 panels I said I wanted as I poster with “and you gave me nothing to lose” also add the first panel of this page to the panels I want that on and add “I’m already dead” to the quotes I want to see on them
Oh. Fine. Erin’s ego is back now, and void is now officially an element. And also, VD is trying to appeal to said ego. Nice tactic there, buddy!
Remember, when a powerful authority figure asks you, “hey kid, you like…”, the correct answer is always:
“Do I?”
‘Hey, Kid, do you like X?’
“Do I!?”
Amazing. 13/10
Besides Erin can’t die yet.
He still needs to tell the world who stopped the storm
The world may not be best pleased.
Do I?!
Yes! I was hoping to see this!
“I’m already DEAD”

aw man here comes the hubris
Void Dragon. Void Mage. Yup, I think we can officially call the 7th element the Void.
Also:
Void Dragon used Appeal to Hubris!
It’s super effective!
Imagine VD’s face when Erin actually figures out how to control him
Erin: You’re correct. I could be more powerful. Now, this, this is enough power. *adds more juice to body for extra frying power*
(Inspired by Nergal and Constantine final battle in Constantine, City of demons: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o-Uh5y_PCY&t=1m05s )
English version, please?
Couln’t find it on yt any more.

Let see if Walter can not make a speech an ruin the temptation XD
I know it’s not that big a deal. . . but on behalf of TheUnknownGame, please give the real Walter a break.
I think, by now, I just need to learn to stop freaking out about it… you don’t need to ask on my behalf
C’mon Erin, C’MON! You’re a big ego, but you KNOW he’s playing you. You’re smarter than this.
Will our hero be stupid enough to think he can control a literal god?
He’s a god! How can you control a god? What a grand and intoxicating hubris!
It’s a trap!
I’m slightly tempted to respond: “No, it’s a trial.”
I bet, that the seventh element is Void. Why, random people might ask. “The first ever Void mage.” On that note, I don’t think Erin is THAT hubristic. He does have SOME intelligence. Enough to give cause for a good little bit of that ego.
Oh no! Who would’ve known that an ancient manipulative god could have figured out Erin’s hamartia! I mean, it’s so not obvious!
Oh, also: the first ‘true’ Void mage? That implies there are others who have some control over the element. The Collector, perhaps?

Again… I think her knives have void magic in them…
I disagree.

No Erin! Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to take power from strangers!
Did she!?!

The Void Dragon actually only possessed Erin two days ago in-story.
Void Dragon: hey kid, you like proving yourself?
Do I!?
I don’t know whether to be glad that Erin is going to survive this or sad that he’s gonna get tricked by Walter
Again, can we not keep calling it Walter? For TheUnknownGame?
Of course he likes power, he’s currently a living generator!
I WILL SAY IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN! WE NEED A LIKE BUTTON!!
#WNALB
Oh look, a fatal flaw.
“Oh yeah, kid, see, you could totally learn my power and this definitely isn’t a lie to play for time. Really.”
Erin, you were so close to being a hero, darn it.
AHHH! My hubris!
(I am sorry it needed to be said).
*clap clap* Don’t be sorry.
It did, in fact, need to be said. 17/10
I’m getting Semi-Perfect Cell vs Vegeta vibes here.

NOOOO, compliments, my only weakness!

Erin, I SWEAR TO GOD if you fall for what is a *very* obvious ploy because of your Hubris…..
It’s the 2 wallflowers

No means no! Erin shan’t disappoint
