I would like to remember everyone that Her flesh was *burning*, it’s not just poison it’s *fire* ! Anyone not blessed by Life itself would never have survived and recovered so fast! That’s a great relief anyway…
I like to think of it as ‘black hole fire’, in the sense that it looks like fire but rips the substance apart and causes it to disintegrate. Also the colour fits.
I would argue that it is the unknown “seventh element”. It disintegrates everything that it comes into contact with, so it causes pain. So it’s like getting burned, but with an important difference.
But she said that “it took Erin”. So maybe it wasn’t possession? Or maybe he was fighting it? He clearly did something that made Alinua think that he was “taken” as opposed to “went”
Well, I guess we are going into the caves. Is there a phrase to describe the opposite of a deus ex machina, something that just shows up and makes everything worse? If not, then I propose diabolus ex machina. It seems to fit.
Red posts updates on M/W/F, she also has a Twitter account for this webcomic https://twitter.com/AuroraWebcomic and if you’re really technical there are RSS feeds on this website for when it gets updated 😉
I’m going to theorize for a moment here.
So in the extra lore section, it says that The Six Primordials sealed away a dark dragon. There is a primordial for each major element/branch of magic, because that’s where the magic comes from. My guess is that, for the first time, the souls of the Primordial are fully inhabiting humans or elves. Alinua is being inhabited by the life Primordial, aka that giant green creature she saw in her vision, and Erin is being inhabited by the dark dragon. That would explain why the black thing was afraid of Alinua, because it doesn’t want to be sealed away again. Both the green creature and the black possession monster say the same thing when we first see them: “Finally”. Alinua wasn’t totally taken over by her possessor is because it has good intentions, whereas Erin’s does not.
TL;DR: Cthulhu and Floof mcNicetats talk over each other, then Cthulhu shuts up. Dark floof further abuses their admin privileges and goes into the underground digestive system.
I’d like to point there are numeration problems here and there, there was one in the small 6.5 run where it went 1, 2, 4, 5, here it just jumped from 11 to 13
I bet Kendal isn’t going to ask about the double voices.
I think he might, later
Whoopsie! Looks like someone is in mortal peril!

could be acid.

I saw it as essentially rotting, like Death energy was consuming her or something. Same way as fire, but a subtle, yet somehow fundamental difference.
AVATAR STATE
she’s become radioactive
But does she paint it red to fit right in?
That can’t be good!

this was meant to be reply to the Lolest.
GOD FUCKING DAMNIT ERIN YOU HAVE DISAPPOINTED ME!
But she said that “it took Erin”. So maybe it wasn’t possession? Or maybe he was fighting it? He clearly did something that made Alinua think that he was “taken” as opposed to “went”
ooo interesting.
ooooh is it acid
My theory was right! The deity in her vision aided her!
I like how Alinua’s speech was superimposed upon the life primordial’s speech
Time to go into the murder caves!
Alinua is lucky the everything-dissolving black mist didn’t eat her clothes.
The true power of a protagonist
Depends on the genre. Some wear clothes that are immune to clothing damage, some wear clothes that have the Vulnerable keyword.
Well Kendal’s clothes also healed from black mist back it might because they’re godly
Clothes beam: easily my most magical ability
Though, Kendall didn’t seem surprised…can’t wait to see what happens next! Anyone have any theories to share?

lol, there is a phrase and that’s it.
TvTropes beat you to it.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DiabolusExMachina
Red also used the phrase in a trope talk, I forget which one though
Noooo they weren’t supposed to have to go into the caves yet! At least Alinua is ok though…
Tbh panels 4 and 5 are absolute meme material

That all. You’re free to go. 🙂
You got it in one.
For a strange reason it sounds like that is exactly how it works! Great deducing!
