There was simply a long gap between the previous Magus’s death and Erin’s birth. It’s not like the Avatar, where as soon as the last one dies, the next one is born.
I don’t think so. I think that’s just a title given to anyone who wield all six elements. It’s just they’re super rare, to the point of not even being one in a generation.
Theory: Once he catches wind of Alinua and Kendal’s quest, he’ll insist he’s way too important to get left out of this and forcibly embed himself into the squad
Erin: I’m so important that a god gave me a special badge, offering me their protection.
Kendal (has the body and memories of a god, and has been tasked with rescuing that god from a being that kills gods): Neat.
I’m guessing it’s the use of “themself” and “their” to refer to Asera. I don’t know who Asera is – I don’t think they’ve been mentioned before – but assuming they’re a single person and not a group, using they/them pronouns rather than he/him or she/her would mean they’re agender, genderfluid or something along those lines rather than strictly male or female. And they probably ARE a single person because if they were a group, the proper word would be “themselves”, not “themself”.
Okay, so I just thought of something which might be a stretch, but… we saw The Collecter use both life magic and stone magic, right? I wonder if it’s possible that she was the previous elemental magus… considering the fact that she didn’t bleed, she could’ve faked her own death after obtaining near-immortality… I don’t know, just a thought
I don’t think she is the Elemental Magus. As seen in later pages, Erin has to touch his tattoos to activate different kinds of magic. Guessing from the lore on the three elder races, I think it may be possible for a mage to hold more than one element. The exact quote is “Humans produce the most powerful, versatile mages, and it is not uncommon for a human mage to have mastery over more than a single element ” so it may be possible she is like that. I also think she may be the mage who created the ferin, as she is stated to have appeared around a hundred years ago, and she has already shown that she is quite powerful with Life magic. A s for why she is immortal and powerful, and knew how to make the Ferin, it is possible she may have stumbled upon one of the lifewells of the Twins and blackmailed them.

Loving the sequence between panels 2, 3, and 4 where Erin’s me-chorus falters, then comes back stronger than ever, symbolized by temporary absence of his little backlighting shimmer. Could this be the first time someone completely no-sells the Ruunaser name, but is quite familiar with the dumb ol’ sigil?
Forgot Vash was a city and though “Damn Kendal really just telling this guy he came from a god huh?”
wait wheres alinua?
Having a little nappy-poo
you have to update the character page now.
She’s looking for earplugs.
What accent do these guys have?
Wait, 130 years? Can I get a quick check, what are the lifespans of these people and how long that would make one generation?

*gets turned into a shadow demon against his will* “the storm poses no threat to me”
The sigil was carved by Asera, not that she gave it to him.
Whoops, misread that.
So, either Erin is really old, or she is some form of undead (might explain why Erin refers to her in gender-neutral terms while Vash uses she)
Kendal was talking about the elemental magus when he said “She died one hundred thirty years ago.”
Plot twist, Kendal’s bones and eyes are made of the same materials as Erin’s bay-blade
So this guy Erin’s like the avatar or something?
I don’t think so. I think that’s just a title given to anyone who wield all six elements. It’s just they’re super rare, to the point of not even being one in a generation.
So so far we’ve got Alina, Kendall, and Erin.
Soon to be joined by Fred, Jessica, and Mackenzie.
Kendall: -knows absolutely nothing-
Erin: This is great for me because– in case you haven’t noticed– I LOVE to talk 🙂
Exposition!
Amazing Beowulf reference. 15/10

Ignore the above comment.
As a side note, am not liking this comment system.

“I didn’t get out much”
(-_-)
Plot twist: He’s actually super lonely cause nobody wants to hang with him, because he does kinda have a stick up his-
Ah, so his first name is Erin after all
Erin: I’m so important that a god gave me a special badge, offering me their protection.
Kendal (has the body and memories of a god, and has been tasked with rescuing that god from a being that kills gods): Neat.
Correction: You now control (potentially) SEVEN elements!
Erin: “I’m like a new god”
Kendall: “Wouldn’t know what that’s like”
I shouldn’t be surprised (this is Red, after all), but… Yay, queer representation! 🙂
Don’t get me wrong; I’m all about that life, and I agree Red is too, but where are you finding queer representation in this page?

Asera, if I’m correct, is a god; specifically, they’re the god of a really famous and important mage academy
I completely missed the word “themself” and thought Asera was just the university/organisation. I now fully share your yay. ^.^
Is command of one or more elements an innate or learned skill? Are we talking sorcerer or wizard here?
Innate, but it does take practice.
Ah yes, the element of NOPE.
more awesomely drawn panels! and yay for ‘themself”s and ‘their”s~. heck yeah nonbinary gods lol.

AAAAAH sorry about the duplicates

TL;DR: Vashn’t is apparently a history nerd, which aids Hubris mcNicetats’s bragging. More flashbacks ensue.

This sounds like he practises it in the mirror
