Text on this one is kinda hard to read near the bottom. I transcribed it to help:
> Electing to enter though the lightning sector, I protected myself from the errant strikes with a simple shield. Since the primary property of lightning is to be drawn to or repelled from itself, this would repel half the strikes and harmlessly absorb the other half, leaving me free to navigate the storm, my only concern now being the sound of thunder crashing all around me. As I made progress into the storm, I charge a lacrima with lightning energy and inscribed it with the simple commands necessary to sustain my shield so I could maintain it without my conscious.
I actually figured out what the next line is, even though it’s like three quarters below the edge of the page.
“I charged a lacrima with lightning energy and inscribed it with the simple commands necessary to sustain my shield so I could maintain it without my conscious effort. This allowed me to prevent inconvenient lightning strikes from interrupting me when I…”
can’t get more past that, but that’s at least one more line
Arachne and Bellerophone both thought themselves equal to or better then the gods, Icarus thought himself able to do anything, Tattoos Toots-His-Own-Horn Hubris McGee clearly thinks himself capable of anything, he doesn’t think himself equal to gods, he is Icarus
TL;DR: Hubris-floof walks through lightning armed only with a shield and a long explanation of why the shield works. Krackadoom sound effect is ominous.
KyleDavidE thank you for adding the transcription here I was gonna say the same thing. Awesome comic so far really appreciate the separating if lighting from fire. Also the way that the soft magic system allows for potentially multi elemental study. I think this would be a fun world to have as a rpg setting.
This fooligan was so caught up in their own hype they forgot that expeditions needs supplies. Gonna be hard to last more than a day when you don’t even have a tent.
Dude is a smart science with and evil side that does bad things and can take control of him in sleep, that he can semi control but is afraid will take over him forever, so he is Dr Jekyll, and Vidi is Mr Hyde (if you are wondering about Vidi, it is my nickname for the Void Dragon/Walter/VD/Dark Floof, I went through the thought process of Enby, NB is short for Non-Binary, and people spell out Enby as if it is a word, I decided to do the same with the Void Dragon, as VD needs a nickname sense Void Dragon is an awkward name that starts to loose meaning when you say it back to back, VD is short for Void Dragon and I spell it out as Vidi as I think it’s cute and easy and a proper name/nickname while VD is not, it doesn’t matter what you call him, call him whatever you want, this is just what I call him)
I sense a trival dispute incoming.
Hm, intressting… i really wonder where this is going in regards to your two heros … more urgently it goes into the storm, i know that 🙂
Is he gonna turn out to be a prick Shapiro style?
Oh, yeah, this can’t possibly go horribly wrong.
Can’t wait to see him die and/or get mutated into some kind of horrible monster
he’s my favorite because of this introduction, the best part is he becomes less of a dick.
At least it was Krakadoom and not Krakakoom. The latter would mean the last Gate for the Snarl had been broken.
The order of the stick is hilarious
hhhmmm i have a feeling this guy is gonna be possessed (by a mysterious entity wink wink)
also dont know if this has been said before (prob has been)
but unorthodox display of hubris but very well

Pride goeth before the fall.
Red how dare you make the beautiful nerd boy even more awesome.
This feels like his hubris will be his downfall, like many Greek heroes. This is going to be fun;)
I want his power up!!!! And he is definitely humble…jaja
Is the bottom text supposed to be mostly illegible?
Yes
I’m starting to really miss Floofy Boi and Cat Girl
This one is gonna get it bad…
Hurtling towards a punishment for hubris, but, I’m thinking, a loveable dickhead
god will punish him for his hubris and his work will never be finished
Out of the hubris-based people in Greek myth, which one do you think magi-science boy resembles the most?
Icarus or Arachne
I’ll have to go with Bellerophon.
I sense… consequences
From the latest comic, I’m not sure this went so well…
Shouldn’t his goggles be tinted if he’s going to be surrounded by massive strikes of lightning for miles?
Off he goes, the humble mage Hugh Burris.
TL;DR: Hubris-floof walks through lightning armed only with a shield and a long explanation of why the shield works. Krackadoom sound effect is ominous.
*sniff sniff* why do I smell imminent magic poisoning?

ear diary, today I monologued about how cool and smart I was for six pages
Damn, these lightining effects are really cool
And here we have the first appearance of the Glorb.
(Reference to chapter 16 if you don’t understand)
Erin, I give it five minutes before your Greek-myth style punishment for hubris takes effect. Good luck!
This guy has to be one of the most self-absorbed smart idiots I have ever seen, and I live in a world with Elon Musk, Todd Howard, and Jeff Bezos.
Some stylish effects appear around his head
As he describes his difficult way ahead
And boom, Electro Abyss Mage shield
I now refer to THOSE as Glorbs because I love Erin so much

Ohhhhhh, it’s Allomancer Jak, except competent
SPOILERS
Honestly it makes sense he would be most confident in the lightning sector, along with Tess he has a lot of experience with lightning and storms
