I bet that its some sort of void material, and the only way they are going to fix this is by Erin coming and being like “BEGONE FOULD FIEND” and “YOU SHALL NOT PASS”
Reply to RAAQ #26- Either with a brilliant plan by Erin or brute force and stubborn determination by Tess and Kendal, or Red could pull something else. I am hoping for the later (third choice, not second).
Maybe it’s adapted to a new environment. It’s been underground it’s whole life, so it was probably surprised the first time, and then learned to absorb it the second time.
I think its less that its absorbed the fire so much as its made up of organic matter and is currently on fire and capable of using that to its advantage.
I don’t know about killing, but my mind is going back to the dais room and the lacrima array. Perhaps that array was responsible for this things creation and/or keeping it sealed; maybe it was the object that used to rest on the dais before the array was disturbed and released it. So maybe the answer is to use a similar array, or Erin wielding all six elements, to unmake or re-seal the monster.
Yes Alinua! It stole your old piercing grey eyes!
Ok, that hurt it and got it screaming again; even seems like Alinua is shocked by the screaming in panel 1 (seriously, it’s like she can see the SFX). However, it’s seems easy to make the glort feel pain, but hard to deal any real injury.
Dainix is technically still a rookie when it comes to fire magic; that attack plus the dungeon fights have left him exhausted. Plus his actions inadvertently singeing Alinua isn’t going to help his emotional state, a key component for his powers.
… Alinua’s going to try and pull him out of the glort despite the flames and it’ll materialise some trauma eyes to counter her, isn’t it?
Silly @Evil Tree characters in Comic books don’t SEE sound effects, they HEAR them. Artists have license in silent medium. Though since Alinua is plugged into Primordial Life she might hear what it does now… (you can call me silly for typing that, its only fair [and many people I know would agree with that])
He’s been sucked into a tree. You know what that means… Ho Tom Bombadil, Tom Bombadillo! By water, wood and hill, by the reed and willow, By fire, sun and moon, harken now and hear us! Come, Tom Bombadil, for our near is near us!
It depends whether it’s willing to let me go after a reasonable amount of time. That’s why I didn’t let my best friend hug me when I’m late to go somewhere. Otherwise, pretty much anything that can be described as fluffy: I will hug. Unless it’s huggy wuggy, I am NOT dealing with him. I’m the type of person to see a monster on a video game, say NOPE and come back the way I came.
I love hugs from all sorts of things, even including some slimes and demons (that don’t intend to kill me, unintentionally or otherwise) and I have to be tolerant with beings who don’t perceive things as I do. But nor am I indestructible, omniscient or have good taste…
Isn’t it a kind of compressed void corruption anyway? (I know this is kind of gross, I’m sorry) my first thoughts upon seeing it were that it was a lot of decayed creatures that had cave corruption merged into slime somehow. Since that area had been sealed for so long, it made sense that some would biodegrade – but the cave corruption already makes someone undead so it isn’t like they could die again.
Also: does anyone else have a messed up sleep schedule because they stay up until 3am to be one of the first to relpy? (Tho I just found out there’s a time lag on my end so it was actually 9-10am XD)
Sleep is good when you can get it! The comic (and comment section) will still be (as long as the internet don’t crash). You might even find some comments plotted that you might want to respond to as well…
Just a theory, but it doesn’t look like a tree anymore, and I think it’s because Alinua isn’t doing life magic anymore, so maybe if dainix stops trying to set it on fire, it won’t be on fire anymore.
I think there’s just a delay sometimes between submitting comments and them appearing; it’s not always an instantaneous thing as with other sites. I sometimes even get instances where there are more comments on the version of the page with the arc-chapter-page number in the url than I do the standard comicaurora.com, or vice versa.
Generally, I post a comment and if it shows up, great; if not, I wait a while before checking the page again and then it tends to show up.
Yeah, it just does that sometimes. If a comment doesn’t show up initially, dont worry about it; it will show up at some undetermined later time. Refreshing and all that doesnt help. It can go a few hours, too; especially at the start of an update. If it’s been a day, it probably ate your comment, but other than that I’ve never had a real problem with just leaving it.
Uh, basically there’s a species of sentient psychic mice. A mouse named Pip sneaks away from her colony and comes across the “Weeping Shadow”, an entity her tribe avoids because it radiates some serious sad vibes. (It’s Alinua, back when she was debating whether to help the people of Vash with the chimeras ) Pip reads Ali’s mind to try and understand what the chimeras are. She accidentally makes contact with Life and freaks out.
“The third thing she became aware of was the shadow stretching towards her, claws stretched as long as her whole body, the deep purple of the skies after dusk. The Weeping Shadow loomed over her, vaster than mountains. Two points of green pierced out from the dark.”
Purple hands and glowing green eyes. She was really angsty back then, but she said out loud to Kendal that she really wanted to help the city when the chimeras (the monsters Pip was looking for) attacked it.
Oh no! It’s aborbing Dainix now too! I guess we know where all the bones in it came from, that’s probably how it eats: absorbs something and then uses what’s left as a base (I wonder if it instantly melted the previous people or looked like a gooped up ancient before they started rotting).
A few curious things: Dainix was partially right about it being more vulnerable to fire now, since we can still see it on fire when he’s being glorped. I wonder why it didn’t seem to try to absorb them in the lab — unless I’m mistaken, we saw it bonk them into walls and smack them a lot, but it didn’t really try this. Maybe it has to do with what it’s using as a base?
It may have something to do with fatigue, mental resilience and/or soul lattice density. Seems to me like it prefers/needs to break its prey before it can be absorbed.
hey, hubris mcsicktats! i know you’re gloating and enjoying scientific advancement and all that, but i think dainix would appreciate some voidy backup right about now!
I love the art on panel one of this page! Very appropriate for Halloween. Dark background with nice contrast to the neon green and orange lines and waves! Lively action with deep eldritch sound echoing across the entire valley/space! Spooky good!
In the first panel on this page, we see two figures surveying the Storm, each wearing pale blue robes. Are they Paladins? The taller one holds a staff in one hand. Are they some sort of elder or leader? Are they an Ancient? The little one holds their other hand. Is this their child?
They almost look like they could be Falst and his mother before she got sick. But she seemed to have shorter hair and paler skin. Either way, it’s interesting to see how fascinated the Paladins were by the Storm, especially since they must know EXACTLY what it was.
I take a different view. I see a young Erin standing next to an elder teacher discussing these thoughts written down. Just a thought that cane to mind. No offense intended!
For mobile readers.

Anonymous Aurora Question #26: What the heck just happened! Real Anonymous Aurora Question 26#: How do we get the fire boi out of GOH?
Get Tom Bombadil to pull him out of the tree.
We need to call All Might in for slime monster round two
Go My Hero Academia!
Get Tom Bombadil to pull him out of the Evil Tree, worked in the lord of the rings.
My bet is that he’s gonna go crucible mode
YES!! TOM BOMBADIL SHALL SAVE THEM!!
or another flashback
then guessing Tess and Kendal will yank him out then sternly lecture everyone on being reckless
Uuuuh… Tess? I don’t know what Tess can do yet, do I’m just going to assume she can do that.
I bet that its some sort of void material, and the only way they are going to fix this is by Erin coming and being like “BEGONE FOULD FIEND” and “YOU SHALL NOT PASS”
I’m with treebranch.
Reply to RAAQ #26- Either with a brilliant plan by Erin or brute force and stubborn determination by Tess and Kendal, or Red could pull something else. I am hoping for the later (third choice, not second).
Albsolutely living for all the LOTR references today <3
yusssssssssssssssss
How unexpected! the magic absorbing goop monster absorbed the magic!
The weird thing is, it didn’t absorb Dainix’s magic when they were underground, so something must be different.
Maybe it’s adapted to a new environment. It’s been underground it’s whole life, so it was probably surprised the first time, and then learned to absorb it the second time.
I think its less that its absorbed the fire so much as its made up of organic matter and is currently on fire and capable of using that to its advantage.
It’s probably adapted. It’s been underground it’s whole life, so it was surprised the first time, and learned to absorb it the second.
Tess better get here and split this thing down the middle with a lightning bolt.
Hmmmmm. How do you kill this thing? Void blast? Kendal sword strike? Paladin slash? I doubt anything less than that would work.
If Erin can unmake Adamant… can he also MAKE Adamant?
Well, yeah.
Theoretically, yes. But have we seen it? Has it been confirmed? Could he stick this Voidhammer in an Adamant bubble?
i’m half wondering if falst’s weird new magic might do it once he recovers
We could try a brass fist
I read this as “brass band” for some reason. And now that I think about it, that might actually work. Especially a beginner one.
<3
well kendal’s an extension of his sword, and he has some like. corruption resistance properties so maybe a sword strike from him might help? idk
Well that’s gotta hurt. Emotionally, mentally, AND physically!

Why does that last panel give me MHA vibes
NOOO DAINIX
He’s been sucked into a tree. You know what that means… Ho Tom Bombadil, Tom Bombadillo! By water, wood and hill, by the reed and willow, By fire, sun and moon, harken now and hear us! Come, Tom Bombadil, for our near is near us!
*From a distance* *in no hurry*
“Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!
Ring a dong! hop along! Fal lal the willow!
Tom Bom, jolly Tom, Tom Bombadillo!”
*Dainix flails*
“Ho now, the glort awakes?
Dig deep, swallow darkness!
Go to sleep!”
*Glort desperately tries trauma eyes on Tom* *Nothing* *Again* *Nothing* *Again*
I cannot express how happy this thread makes my nerdy heart.
I am so confused. What is this from!?
Lord of the Rings
Like @Tararrel said, but only the book of Fellowship, no-where else. Ton Bombadil’s a mystery to this day
Aurora Question #99: What is the limit to things you are willing to be hugged by?
It depends whether it’s willing to let me go after a reasonable amount of time. That’s why I didn’t let my best friend hug me when I’m late to go somewhere. Otherwise, pretty much anything that can be described as fluffy: I will hug. Unless it’s huggy wuggy, I am NOT dealing with him. I’m the type of person to see a monster on a video game, say NOPE and come back the way I came.
if i can hug it
i will hug it
and it’d better hug back
also, the tree looks SO DANG COOL
Most things. I don’t like hugs very much, so a huge “no thank you” to Jeff. Luckily, my friends tend to not like hugs either.
My nieces, cute women, maybe a bro if we’re broey. No goop trees, though.
I love hugs from all sorts of things, even including some slimes and demons (that don’t intend to kill me, unintentionally or otherwise) and I have to be tolerant with beings who don’t perceive things as I do. But nor am I indestructible, omniscient or have good taste…
If this thing can absorb elements, throwing void at it thing would either go very well or VERY badly
Isn’t it a kind of compressed void corruption anyway? Sleep is good when you can get it! The comic (and comment section) will still be (as long as the internet don’t crash). You might even find some comments plotted that you might want to respond to as well…
I’m sorry but Alinua’s “it has EYES now?!” gives the same vibe of “They fly now?!” “They fly now!!” I’m so sorry red
Just a theory, but it doesn’t look like a tree anymore, and I think it’s because Alinua isn’t doing life magic anymore, so maybe if dainix stops trying to set it on fire, it won’t be on fire anymore.
Is there a limit to how many comments you can post? I can’t do more that three.
Umm… is there any reason my comments keep disappearing?
Ok, they’re there now but they keep glitching out for some reason. Does anyone know if this is meant to happen?
I think there’s just a delay sometimes between submitting comments and them appearing; it’s not always an instantaneous thing as with other sites. I sometimes even get instances where there are more comments on the version of the page with the arc-chapter-page number in the url than I do the standard comicaurora.com, or vice versa.

Love the graphics
The fire seems to hurt, but so do eyes
And Dainix’s distraction has a price
Bonus:
Shall I compare thee to my deapest fears?
For thou art pain for the floof gang, and tears
Red posted this cool short story last night. Check it out!
ty for bringing this to our attention!
I can’t read all of it, because I don’t have Tumblr, and I don’t want to get an account. Now I’m sad.
Shoot. I didn’t realize that would happen.
Red said there are plans in place for Pip.
Well, the Twins clearly got bored. Psychic mice is a new one.
I’m wondering if they have ties to the Light Dragon, since telepathy is also something the paladins have.
In this universe, yes. Anyone else getting Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy-vibes?
Thank you @Stark!
Maybe try this link?
https://comicaurora.tumblr.com/post/731466922721525760/tldr-i-committed-to-a-bit-too-hard-the
I think that that should be to a page from the desktop version of Tumblr, which I’ve found it lets you view without needing to get the app
***thank you so so much.*** I dont have Tumblr either.
How do you get this version, for future reference?
Since you read it too: Could the weeping shadow be Alinua? That’s my theory, does it make any sense to you?
It’s 100% her.
The only part that confuses me about the description is that Alinua’s eyes were still grey before she met Kendal
Wait, actually nevermind her eyes glow green when she does life magic. I’m guessing she was trying to heal pip after she yeeted herself out of a tree
Oh no! It’s aborbing Dainix now too! I guess we know where all the bones in it came from, that’s probably how it eats: absorbs something and then uses what’s left as a base (I wonder if it instantly melted the previous people or looked like a gooped up ancient before they started rotting).

You’re going to Brazil!
My le fire… le killed people?
Erin, stop gloating and get over here. Show off your new powers of darkness, or something equally disturbing:
Erin, does Void Mage thing. No result, except…
Glort: Maaaasterrrrrr….
Erin: Er. We have a pet Glort now?
This cracks me up 🤣
Now that you’ve said it, I feel like we need to have at least one Creature of Darkness ominously call Erin “Masterrrrrrr”
Ah shit, well this isn’t good. Someone grab All Might because it looks like the sludge thing is back at it suffocating our boy again
But in all seriousness my guess for next page is Dainix goes crucible form from the stress
TL;DR: I’m starting to think fire isn’t always the solution…
Well, not with that attitude!
“If the fire doesn’t work, light it on fire MORE.”
How To Be a Protagonist
By: A Random ADHD Brain
Page# 51
Hey, do you possibly have a book on how to be an antagonist?? I’m just asking… For a friend.
Well, there’s “Ominous Cliches For Aspiring Villains” and “How To Monologue For Dummies”, to name a few. What is your friend looking for specifically?
HES GOT GOT
hey, hubris mcsicktats! i know you’re gloating and enjoying scientific advancement and all that, but i think dainix would appreciate some voidy backup right about now!
‘Hubris McSicktats’ I love this so much, permission to refer to him as such?
i think it would annoy erin to be referred to as such, therefore YES. ABSOLUTELY.
@Evil Tree that you?
I’m sorry. My desire to give the protagonists hugs and learn of their tragic backstories has led me down a dark path.
OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT
Ok, that escalated too quickly!
You think the fire is your ally, but you merely adopted the fire…
“Another hug? You shouldn’t have!”
Um. Yes. Really really shouldn’t have D=
I wonder if Dainix will go full Crucible due to overwhelming stress and panic… I really, REALLY hope the cavalry arrives soon.
I love the art on panel one of this page! Very appropriate for Halloween. Dark background with nice contrast to the neon green and orange lines and waves! Lively action with deep eldritch sound echoing across the entire valley/space! Spooky good!
“IT HAS EYES NOW” would be my reaction as well
random reread note: https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-4-3/

I’m pretty sure it’s Lady Huracan and her student, someone asked about on tumblr and got a noncommittal response
I take a different view. I see a young Erin standing next to an elder teacher discussing these thoughts written down. Just a thought that cane to mind. No offense intended!
I feel so bad for Dainix he just wants to protect his loved ones but his fire is more of a danger to his friends and family than to the enemy
I can’t wait until we get another daylight scene. Between the darkness, the grey enemy, and the flashy effects I can barely tell what’s happening.
NOOOO MY BOY!
