DEAR RED, I stayed up all night (because I have no other way) so I could be at the top of the comments and ask: WHERE IS THE ANIMATED UNTITLED GOSE GAME YOU PROMISED US?! I know this is totally unrelated to the comic (which is amazing btw) but I need to see the gose chaos, please Red. Other people reading this, I need your help to convince Red, spread the word. If you haven’t seen the untitled gose game live stream, you should go watch it.
Really rather rude there, friendo. Creators don’t owe the masses anything.
Unless you personally have commissioned Red to create the thing you’re asking for, in which case this is much better handled privately, you’ve no right to be so demanding, or try to brigade them. Creators are people too.
I’m sorry if I seemed rude, this was intended as a joke, though I do see now how you could’ve seen it otherwise, my 4 AM writing is not amazing. I would ask elsewhere, but I do not have access to social media platforms such as Tumblr or even the YouTube comments.
I’m pretty sure that’s what’s about to happen. In terms of purging corruption, there’s no better way to do it given Erin has the capability to use void magic.
There’s a difference between just magic and corruption. She was essentially immune to the effects of the void magic because the life magic overpowered its effects. Corruption is different. Same with the other elements. Fire corruption is much different from simply being blasted by a fireball. You can’t just simply heal that. At least that’s the inpression I got reading about it
Alinua was purging the Void energy by essentially flooding herself with Life energy until the Void energy causing her to disintegrate was flushed out of her system. Any normal person attempting this would either be unable to do that, or trade one elemental corruption for another.
More to the point, she can do that because she’s basically MADE of Life at this point. She can flood out the corruption and then put everything back without consequence. Doing that to someone else would be as bad as exposing them to Chimera Plague.
Isn’t the void dragon a corruptive power source itself though? I thought it was the sort of evil force incarnate that can twist other elements – I actually have a half idea (undeveloped theory, I’m no Sherlock) that he has something to do with magic being corruptive. I think that it’s a bit odd that the only places that magic corruption haven’t seemed to take place (minus when it is flushed out with the protective circle) are in the storm of magic that he was causing, in Erin’s body which he is occupying, and in Alinua that is filled with a newly awakened Life. I think that him shutting the elemental gods down could have caused their magic to be corrupted when they weren’t there to keep it in check. It doesn’t affect Alinua anymore because Life is almost fully awake and is half possessing her.
But IT’S JUST A THEORY – A WEBCOMIC THEORY . . . just kidding I’m not that youtuber (kudos to those getting the reference)
Don’t take it as gospel, it’s probably wrong anyways. Also, has anyone else noticed that the void dragon’s voice is the same as the one in the very first panel? Interesting . . . theories, anyone?
Erin’s notes on the storm explicitly said that the reason no-one could reasonably explore the centre was because no-one could flush the corruption from all 5 forms of magic, except the elemental magus. This was also brought up when Erin was speaking with Voidy in the Caves. Voidy used the storm as both bait and trap for an elemental magus, as that was what he needed to free himself.
Thus, Erin would be easily able to take care of any corruption within himself, leaving the only one that is genuinely strange is Alinua. But she’s basically an avatar of Life, her entire body is suffused with life magic. That seems to leave her somewhat able to combat Void energy, at least before it truly sets in.
Before V.D. had a definite name, i.e. in and around chapters 5, 6, and 7, people took to giving nicknames to the Void Dragon. Dark Floof was an early favourite, but someone just called him Walter as a bit of a joke (a simple name for such an eldrich being) and the gag name stuck, like how the glort has the nickname “Jeff” among other things.
My nicknames for the Void Dragon are Voidy, V.D. (for obvious reasons), Alduin (because he’s a black dragon trying to eat the world), and my personal addition, Shara Ishvoida (because the third panel in 1-7-24 with the tattoos reminds me of TerminalMontage’s Shara Ishvalda from his “Something About Monster Hunter World: Iceborne” video).
Isn’t getting you and him buried deep kind of what he wants?
Oh no! It is void corruption isn’t it?! Or at least the beginnings of it; maybe those injuries to his body, thus his soul barrier too, allowed the void to seep in more easily than with Dainix’s, relatively, unharmed body. This is bad, but there is hope. According to extra lore, Elemental corruption can be cured if treated early, and Erin, the only “Void mage” in existence, has the power to do just that. I’m betting Erin knows how to treat regular corruption so, provided V.D. stays put, he can treat Falst.
Pinned down by a mad doctor’s chimeras? No void. Faced against a storm dragon god? No void. Only now, where void is literally the only option available to save his friend, does he use it. Erin may be arrogant and prideful, but he doesn’t use this power flippantly thinking he’s the one in control and is willing to sacrifice himself for the world, or to spite V.D., if needs be.
In other news, while Alinua looks badass doing that, I can’t help but notice the bowling alley/coach seat covers protoplasm effect on the plants she’s controlling. Is she fighting the glort off, or is she adding fuel to the fire? Either way, having Dainix there to at least warn her of the trauma eyes is a plus.
Hold on. I’ve just had a thought.
Remember those theories about the glort relating to the word “Voidhammer”? That the glort might be a failed weapon against V.D., or perhaps one that worked too well and targets anything with Void in them, or a weapon that utilises Void energy? And how in the next few pages Erin is likely to try and use Void magic to save Falst while the glort is just a stone’s throw away?
… Have fun putting two and two together.
I think he’ll either play dead this once to give Erin a false sense of security, particularly since Falst doesn’t present a threat to voidy (at least not one he’s aware of, since he wasn’t in the caves when Falst maybe-probably used Light magic).
Either that or he’ll pretend to play dead and come out at the worst possible time. 🙃
Or Kendal and Tess show up while Erin’s healing and be like ‘what on EARTH do you think you’re doing?’ and break his concentration enough for Voidy to take over.
Bouncing off of their conversation last chapter (was that last chapter? it’s been a blur since Petrichor), I’m pretty sure he’ll behave, at least after a little tantrum. He seems pretty content right now to fly under Erin’s radar, not just because the Paladins are coming for them both, but because he still sees an opportunity to manipulate the hubristic fool.
I’m also confident that we’re about to see Erin “Voidbend” because that’s been strongly foreshadowed, because that’s the only thing capable of saving Falst at this point, and because it’s WAY more interesting than the alternative. VD teased Erin with Void Magic back in Chapter 7 (which was OVER THREE YEARS AGO, OH MY GOD). Now, this isn’t going to make Erin a Void Mage overnight, but I do think it’s going to be the second step towards that eventual destination.
Plus, this is actually a GOOD thing for VD, since it represents Erin falling more under his influence. Erin dismissed it back in Chapter 7, but now that it’s going to be a real possibility for him, he won’t be able to stop thinking about it. And THAT is a HUGE step for VD.
If V.D. is a smart cookie(villain) then it will watch this event unfold and sees what happens. While Voidy might see Erin as an insignificant twerp, it knows Erin will make good on his threat as promised given the slightest opportunity.
I’m basically with Veggiesnake. I think Erin’s capacity for void magic will play into the story some between now and when the main VD plot is being directly addressed. I want to posit, however, the possibility that using void magic is somehow corrupting, and that playing dead will play into VD’s favor. It will be interesting to see how light and void differ from the other magics as they are not in contemporary practice and Danix’s condition shows that there are things about magic in the Aurora world that are not expressly understood by in-universe common knowledge/ the info pages.
I think there’s a decent chance next page will see Walter go all “Oh but only I can save him…” It would complete a nice circle, since it was early in the arc that Walter last tempted Erin with Void magic. But since Erin has grown as a character it makes sense for Walter to try a different tactic, namely manipulating Erin’s love for his friends rather than his ego. I don’t know, could be interesting.
Yes, but I also thought that the target patterns on the plant fossil pokemon from generation 3 were it’s eyes for the longest time so in the words of Ansem The Wise, “hahahahahahahahahaha. . . ., I am a fool”
I don’t think Alinua’s tactics are working very well… the whole tree seems to be covered in the Goo of Horrors.
So, we’ve got fire and we’ve got life magic being pretty ineffective at fighting GoH. Stone magic didn’t do much better, but I’d be curious whether fully encasing it in stone would work or not. I strongly doubt water or wind would do much of anything. Water might be even worse than life, allowing GoH to spread even faster, and wind would be the same as stone and fire: slow it down but not really hurt it.
Maybe Erin or Tess will try shooting lightning at it? Might just be fire 2.0, but I’d be interested to see it.
Everyone in chapter 19: HOW COULD YOU BE SO RECKLESS WITH YOUR OWN LIFE, JAIL FOR KENDAL! JAIL FOR KENDAL FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS!!
Everyone in chapters 20-22: Hey look, my friends are in danger. Time to fistfight death himself and also spit in the face of a primeval god! You know, just to really drive my point home.
Analogy Corner:
It’s a matter of control. He is not in control. It’s a matter of leverage. He is giving up leverage. It’s a matter of temptation. He is…
He is inviting the ravenous void into the driver’s carriage, and telling it not to touch anything while he pokes at it, risking a potentially universe–sized derailment with him at the increasingly useless levers.
It’s a matter of saving his friend. He is saving his friend.
Yeah… the analogy might be a tad bit subtle in this one and consist entirely of train puns, but I’m sick & tired of being days late every time with this so I’m posting it NOW.

Every time that the threat didn’t work, Erin followed through. as long as the threats aren’t empty, I think that they will work. If they don’t, there’s still that follow through (I will concede that not every threat can be enacted and this one was vague).
I love panel one. Alinua looks so awesome and kickass! Alinua looks like she is channeling Primordial Life’s gameface and not going put up Jeff’s antics!
Anonymous Aurora Question #22: If you could switch lives with one character, who would it be? (You retain memory of their Trauma, but you do not have to go through it yourself.)
Both of the Runnasers’ stories appeal to me. My own story involves returning to academia after a tour in the US Navy, so the idea of adventuring for academic clout seems right up my alley. Tess’s path being so moved by fortuitous events and her coming to terms with creating her own meaning because of rather than in spite of this fact arouses the existentialist in me.
this might be a bit premature but the light/soul mages seem very interesting, i think that I’d like to be the champion. As far as characters whos stories we are more familiar with, either Erin or Kendal. Kendal i could deal with some of the questions more readily, but I relate a good bit to Erin and how he and his sister struggle with their family.
TLDR: Kendal has a new but manageable set of issues, and Erin has a painful but familiar set of issues and I don’t know which I would rather face/carry with me.
Ok, with all that Vidi said back in chapt 7, about Erin one day controlling void, I think he will be quiet just this once. Vidi isn’t stupid, he’s actually quite clever and cunning (unrelated, I’d put him in slytherin) he will see this as a time to plant seeds of manipulation. He’ll let him do it just this once, make Erin think he CAN control the dragon, but Erin won’t fall to easy. Playing to his ego will take longer then you think, see as Erin’s stubborn. Erin won’t let in that early, as he’s to stubborn to let Vidi push him around. That’s my prediction anyway.
Like a tiny corgi pup trying intimate a great greyhound, Erin tries to threaten the primeval dragon inhabiting his mind rent free, like how pizza and the scene of Vanitis getting yeeted into a door Sully in KH3 inhabits mine.
Erin’s basically holding Voidy hostage at this point, which is hilarious. Although it does kinda worry me that he seems to be willing to sacrifice himself to stop Voidy…
If anyone at any point wishes to discuss theories with me (I love theorising with fellow avid readers) then please ask for opinions on a theory on the newest comic – I WILL BE THERE with a friendly open mindset and a cork board ready for evidence gathering 😊
There’s just something about a good slow release story such as this that really gets me into character analysis and plot prediction! We’ve got to appreciate Red for putting together this masterpiece! Thank you so much!

Godspeed you magnificent –
You’re welcome. Now that just leaves the Twitter text.
Brilliant(?) plan (??) indeed
Also it’s 4 am and I haven’t slept yet so good night 😀
there’s a part of me that’s scared (but also so, so excited) that erin will try to use void magic to get rid of the corruption
I’m pretty sure that’s what’s about to happen. In terms of purging corruption, there’s no better way to do it given Erin has the capability to use void magic.

RED IM KILLING YOU WITH MY MIND RAAAAGH 💥💥💥💥
The way Dainix resisted leaving Falst, who he just went through so much with, and then steeled himself to go help Alinua. Ugh, this arc is everything.
With torch boy’s help Ali can win the fight
As can Erin, should Voidy refrain from a bite
I’ve seen people in past comments sections referring to Voidy as Walter, can anyone explain why?
Before V.D. had a definite name, i.e. in and around chapters 5, 6, and 7, people took to giving nicknames to the Void Dragon. Aurora Question #97: Do you think Voidy will agree to play dead?
I think so, there’s some precedent that he’ll listen to Erin against all reason.
He’ll play dead until Erin finishes, THEN he’ll explode and be like ‘HAHAHAHAHAHAHA you really thought I’d LISTEN?!?!’

Ok so that was void and not just him dying. I wonder if Falst’s new powers will be of any assistance…
You might have more luck getting your super-powered evil side to behave if you ask nicely Erin
Pretty sure that _was_ asking nicely, for VD…
Boy JUST exposed him to their enemies, bullied him into a cage, and threatened him. Don’t think that leaves the Dragon in a particularly helpful mood.
He has a cunning plan.
Did anyone else originally think Erin was telling Falst to play dead?
I did.
yup
YES I DID I HAD TO READ IT LIKE THREE TIMES
Yes, but I also thought that the target patterns on the plant fossil pokemon from generation 3 were it’s eyes for the longest time so in the words of Ansem The Wise, “hahahahahahahahahaha. . . ., I am a fool”
maaayyyybeeeee…?
This. This page. The storytelling that goes on with the art. The gorgeous art! One of my favourites so far, no hesitation. DAMN this is good…
I don’t think Alinua’s tactics are working very well… the whole tree seems to be covered in the Goo of Horrors.

There’s a ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ joke in here somewhere.
WHERE’S THE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON JOKE?
Pls inform me, I’m a huge fan!
🤣🤣 I love this.
yeah… it’s a whole lot easier to lecture when it’s not YOUR friends on the line…
Yeah… the analogy might be a tad bit subtle in this one and consist entirely of train puns, but I’m sick & tired of being days late every time with this so I’m posting it NOW.
hmmm….
So many hands trembling. Both Dainix in panel 4 and Erin in panel 8.
infection was not, in fact, the worst case scenario. I suspect the team will be chasing Erin into the caves after this. Which is interesting because only three of them are immune to corruption.
we’re going all the way back to the start with this one, huh? erin’s little monologue during his intro regarding elemental magus’ and removing elemental corruption, i get the feeling that’s going to be relevant again…
Uhhh, Happy Canadian Turkey Day?
Canadians have just as much right to celebrate Thanksgiving as their southern neighbor (U.S.) does. After all they crossed “the pond” and suffered the same trials those southern rebels did. Go Canada!
This page is incredible and the suspense is KILLING ME.

not me thinking erin was talking to falst lmaooo (like telling him to play dead i was very confused)
This whole action-horror section of the comic is so tense and scary I’m enjoying it a lot. Thank you for making it!
Oh dear
That’s a horrible plan
I love it
Yessssssss . . . My thoughts exactly 😏
TL;DR: Just trying to threaten my inner demon. Nothing wrong at all! Just… Do your thing.
Erin x Voidy character dynamic is one of the best, but for a very wrong reason.
I like to imagine Dainax being able to hear what Erin is saying, asking what he’s doing, and this is Erin’s response. Oh and I like to think Falst can here what’s going on and is thinking: ERIN YOU NARCISSISTIC DORK, DON’T YOU DARE DO ANYTHING STUPID!
Erin can only keep the Void Dragon in check with threats for so long…
Every time that the threat didn’t work, Erin followed through. as long as the threats aren’t empty, I think that they will work. If they don’t, there’s still that follow through (I will concede that not every threat can be enacted and this one was vague).
I love panel one. Alinua looks so awesome and kickass! Alinua looks like she is channeling Primordial Life’s gameface and not going put up Jeff’s antics!
Falst is a BAMF, which in my personal lexicon stands for Boss Awesome Mega Force, although in his case it could also be Barely Alive Mutilated Ferin.

Simple, Become Voidy and just… dont be evil!
The junior archivist from the light archives.
Her job would be so cool and I am very interested in her current journey.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAASP HE’S GOING TO USE THE POWER THE DRAGON TOLD HIM HE COULD UUUUUUUSE!!!!
He about to channel void magic!!
Ok, with all that Vidi said back in chapt 7, about Erin one day controlling void, I think he will be quiet just this once. Like a tiny corgi pup trying intimate a great greyhound, Erin tries to threaten the primeval dragon inhabiting his mind rent free, like how pizza and the scene of Vanitis getting yeeted into a door Sully in KH3 inhabits mine.
This comic is SO GOOD!!!
Okay, but is anyone else just excited to see what it will look like when Erin channels void magic? How can eyes glow black?
probably sclera turns black but the irises stay blue
it’s voidin time baby the first healing spell to be learned by an aurorillion students!!!
Erin’s basically holding Voidy hostage at this point, which is hilarious. Although it does kinda worry me that he seems to be willing to sacrifice himself to stop Voidy…
Breathe, this too will pass;
I’m obsessed with how much these people care about each other
You can see Erin shaking by the little purple lines around his hands. I’m getting scared now.
Omfg Danix’s expression in the third panel…
