@electric_ajax Did you notice where our two bois are looking unless Alinua or Erin do something intuitive or thoughtful they are going be a foursome in front of Jeff…
Personally, I anticipate either Erin’s magic taking care of Jeff, or Kendal, fresh from his therapy, showing up immune to Jeff’s eyes and tapping into Vash’s power on his own for the first time to rescue everyone.
Relating hard to that statement. I almost never get visibly emotional over media I consume, but I nearly cried with relief last page. It’s no fun trying to read these last pages during lessons (they post around noon for me) and keep a blank face.
i think spellbirds bopping people is just a byproduct of sending a small spell hurtling towards someone autonomously. you can’t control them, and they’re just trying to get to the recipient asap…
Anonymous Aurora Question #16: Followup to Question Masters Question: Which characters would/would not tell their spellbird to bot people on the head intentionally? What would the characters who don’t want that tell him to do intead?
The Runasser siblings would both tell the bird to bop people on the head. Kendal would not. For Alinua and Falst it would depend on who, but Falst would do it more often. Danix… Danix would be the one getting bopped.
Daring Prediction:
Erin will notice how weakened Dainix is right now and that they’re right by a cave entrance. Voidy will try to show his face, everyone groans because “Not NOW, you apocalyptic goo!”, then Kendal shows up before VoidErin can attack Alinua because we really ain’t got time for this again.
I agree with your prediction, but you know what could look soooo cool? Remember how it looked when VD had one eye and Erin had the other? What if we got that again? Personally, I want either for Erin to tell off VD again, or the split thing. Although, any VD is good in my book. He’s an interesting villain. But yeah, Jeff is for sure going to cause problems.
Now let there be no doubt that the “CRACK” SFX can be used for the forces of good.
Falst staring in awe at Alinua’s magic, then snapping to rather annoyed at the “BOP” of Erin’s magic; that checks out. Good to see Falst is still conscious, both to aid in getting out of here, and to fully take in any rant Alinua and/or Erin has for him.
Lovely geometric square Erin’s stone magic is casting; it’s subtle, but you can see the difference between his experienced casting and Falst’s rushed spellcarving. Speaking of Falst’s spell, you can see the magic lines caused by it fade between panels 1 and 2. Good news; the ground beneath them won’t collapse because of it. Bad news; it may also allow the glort to escape.
It makes sense Dainix is a little confused at the show; he knows Erin is at least a fire mage, but I’m not sure if he’s caught onto the fact he’s the elemental magus. Or maybe he’s confused that the rescue has even come at all since neither he nor Falst made any signal of distress or sent any message.
I don’t know that the glort escaping is necessarily a bad thing. I don’t think they really want to fight it so they’ll be happy if it gets away because that means it’s no longer their problem. They’ve got enough problems to deal with already.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. I when I said “escape” I didn’t mean “escape the room”, I meant “escape the hole it’s in and continue to attack the boys”.
Is this a “hahahahaha we opened the dungeon to the sky look at all the aberrations sizzle in the sunlight hahahahahaha” or is it more of a “we opened the dungeon to the sky now all the aberrations are escaping to wreak havoc and destruction on civilization ohhhhhhhh noooooooooooooo” kind of situation?
One day we will see somebody snatch a spell bird out of the air and the floof squad will be shocked. The person catching the spell will be confused and say “What? This is how you’re supposed to receive them? Have you been getting hit in the head with them???”
Aurora Rescue Lesson #8978: when breaking through rock to rescue people stuck in a cave, try not to make the rocks fall on the people you intend to rescue.
I have to say, while the desaturation is diagetically there because it’s dark but we still need to see, it also does a very good job of selling the feeling of hopelessness and exhaustion in these later areas, especially woth how much the bright green of alinua’s life magic contrasts it to provide a glimmer of hope
Okay, FINE, it’s your comic, you can have message birbs hit whoever you want in the head. But I still think it’d be funnier if it only ever happened to Erin.
1.21.26
“Twenty pages later Falst’s bossfight gets interrupted when he is slapped in the head with a bird”
1.22.34
45 pages later, Falst gets interrupted from being crushed to death and saved by glowing roots when he gets BOP’d on the head with a birb
I guess we got different numbers cause you counted 1.21.26 and I didn’t. Close enough 😀
The second panel is absolutely incredible. What a wonderfully silly way to interrupt their moment.

How-1 implies that there will be a how-2 soon after…

Sorry, I missed something- who’s Jeff?
aaaaand you were right! Not right on location, but Kendal DID use his New, Shiny StarfireTM! Taken Directly From Vash!
@Avid_Reader I think Jeff is the Glort?
return of Zer0 W0lf, nice to have you back
The bird did boop into his head!
As ceilings break it ends the dread
Yes, any more dread and i would be dead. Seriously, My heart couldn’t take much longer

My sympathies. Though perhaps it would better for your mental health to check before or after class (and polite) rather than in the middle?
True, but I have a streak of being needlessly early for these pages to maintain!
birdbopping is a sacred tradition
asdfdfasd Falst’s face in panel two has made my day
I will never not love how those birbs inevitably BOP someone in the back of the head. It’s a fun little goof.
b o p
Hahaha that was the best xD
we love the boop
also the pretty drawngs are the best
Since it doesn’t look like ZeroWolf has done it yet:

Wait shit, nevermind it just didnt load for me
Sometimes it happens that way. I forgive you for being human and not a bot (smile)
Aurora Question #89: Do you think Erin intentionally makes the spellbirds bop people on the head?
Well, the spellbird Alinua and Tess sent Erin also bopped him on the head. Maybe it’s a thing with spellbirds in general
i think spellbirds bopping people is just a byproduct of sending a small spell hurtling towards someone autonomously. you can’t control them, and they’re just trying to get to the recipient asap…
Probably not, but I feel like he would. He just seems like the type, yaknow?
It may be that how the message arrives is somehow determined by the casting and that “bop on head” is what happens when you fail to tell it otherwise.
Anonymous Aurora Question #16: Followup to Question Masters Question: Which characters would/would not tell their spellbird to bot people on the head intentionally? What would the characters who don’t want that tell him to do intead?
I am sure if anyone could figure this it would be Erin, but it sounds like a lot of work which defeats the quickness of sending the message…
The Runasser siblings would both tell the bird to bop people on the head. Kendal would not. For Alinua and Falst it would depend on who, but Falst would do it more often. Danix… Danix would be the one getting bopped.
The Junior Archivist would bop Erin on the head, but be as professional as possible to all other persons.

Not too daring, if my memory serves me right
There’s void on the chapter art of which we’ve seen no sight

Bop
bop
And that is the best tweet you can possibly get when you are in trouble.
True that! (snicker since most boys are afraid to be caught giggling)
Falst has been bopped by bird friend
I’m quivering with excitement and joy I can hardly wait for Wednesday the silly guys will finally be silly together again 🙂

well this page was a WONDERFUL birthday present. Thank you #1 at trauma for introducing me to this its wonderful :,)
In that first panel you can hear the Falst Falling In Love noises. Power of love is probably playing in the background too.
Panel two makes me laugh.
falsts face after the “BOP” is precious
Backup has arrived!! I sense a ‘what on EARTH?!’ from Danix followed by a ‘no time gotta get outta this hole’ from Erin
One day we will see somebody snatch a spell bird out of the air and the floof squad will be shocked. The person catching the spell will be confused and say “What? This is how you’re supposed to receive them? Have you been getting hit in the head with them???”
Shrike hit hers out of the air on page 1-14-4. Does that count?
None of the gang were around though right? If you’re talking about what I think you’re talking about. So that doesn’t count.
…so is Dainix’s left hand just covered in soot, or what, exactly, is going on there? My bet is honestly on soot. Jeff soot. Yick.
Aurora Rescue Lesson #8978: when breaking through rock to rescue people stuck in a cave, try not to make the rocks fall on the people you intend to rescue.
I like the bop in the second panel :3
Also: YESSS they are HERE they are COMING
I cast PLANTS
That surprised cat eye in the second panel got me
Ten to one it’s a sticker on the Discord by the end of the day
The Wizard Avatar and the Druid with Mother Nature itself as a Sugar Momma are coming to save the day!!!! 😀
Oh in the second panel the EYE.
Also CALLBACK.
LOL the look of wide-eyed indignance on Falst’s face when he gets bopped by the bird. Feels like he’s thinking ‘oh geez did I get hit by a rock’
ok 2 things
1. panel two made up for the factor that my room is literally falling down
2. giving a who new meaning to raise the roof
ExCUSE me??? Your room falling– Are you OKAY???
Panel 2 could definitely be a meme template
If anybody asks, it was like this when they got there.
TL;DR: Sorry for the lag, here’s your message!
omg, FINALLY
I’ve been waiting for this for so long
f*ck I’ve finished binge reading the entire series up to now and now I have to wait like everyone else

Ok, looks like it was 45 pages, not twenty, until the bossfight got interrupted by a bird bopping.
Okay, FINE, it’s your comic, you can have message birbs hit whoever you want in the head. But I still think it’d be funnier if it only ever happened to Erin.
Its been 46 pages since the birds creation… not the foretold 20… ngl, I’m a bit sad about that xD
I was re-reading and I literally just did that
1.21.26
“Twenty pages later Falst’s bossfight gets interrupted when he is slapped in the head with a bird”
