I’m actually going to disagree with you on the “almost humanoid” statement. It still seems very much like a shapeless monster. That said, my theory is still that this is some sort of ‘perfect homunculus’ that the Ancients attempted to create, incorporating the essence of Void via proximity to the Singing Caves rather than elemental magic. Most homunculi do not contain Void, so they cannot consume or assimilate matter, causing them to deteriorate. This one, on the other hand, seems to have just half-digested everything it came across, explaining the “almost humanoid” shapes floating around it’s body, like bones and skulls.
Don’t know why the Ancients called it “Voidhammer” but it seems like their sort of thing.
My guess is a weapon that failed spectacularly the Ancients were trying make which then makes me asking what to originally was it suppose to be fighting?
Ok so I actually had a dream last night that goopy took a completely humaniod form in next update and he turned out to he sapient and in said dream i typed up an insane theory on what it could mean but I can’t remember what I typed in the dream
Once again Falst saves an elevated Dainix from a monster; after the cave crawler and the spider I think this is the third time now.
Death by asphyxiation while living out your worst memories; if this is it’s main way of hunting, it’s no wonder the crawlers avoid this room. Dainix is keeping his eyes closed which, considering this slime doesn’t seem to be affected by fire much, is probably for the best. Going full Crucible might just leave him more vulnerable to the monster.
Not only is using that lacrima to save Dainix the right thing to do and in character for Falst, but it’s also the best move in this situation. Even if the door broke down Falst is in no condition to get out, let alone escape the rest of the dungeon; he needs Dainix, Dainix needs him, and they’ve already made some large cracks in said door.
I can imagine Dainix saying to Falst ‘Fool you shove have tried use the orb to make us a way out, not save me!’ and Falst shrugging back wordlessly. But it really looks li both need saving now. @Sunstrom was saying we can breath but I am still feeling the tension. Mercy, Red!
So at least it looks like having a fire-limb cut off doesn’t affect the flesh limb the same way. That’s good. I was pretty certain that was the case, but not 100 percent certain.
congratulations, you’re all allowed to breathe again, no more doing that weird thing where you have a breath-holding competition with a fictional character
To be fair, I only do it if the CAMERA is barred from breath, even if none of the characters are. In books, it’s the POV character I guess.
So I do breath–holding competitions with non–diagetic cameras, which is arguably even weirder. Guess who chugs water breathing potions in Minecraft creative mode?
Anyway, Sunstorm, how’d you know? You do it as well, don’t you?
Anonymous Aurora Question #13: How would the Floof squad orchestrate a Prison break, if Kendals happened to get arrested (I know something similar happened during Zuurith arc, but in this specific case I would ask for them to not literally “break” the prison?
Erin and Daniax would plan out what to do while Tess would tell Erin about Alinua’s worries after he dismissed them airily(haughtly?) (and gets some verbal or physical jabs in at Erin too.) Dainix would act as intermediary, and Dainix would try to persuade a very reluctant Falst to act as scout, information gather (and perhaps covert rumor mongering). Alternately I could see hermit Alunia could get fed up and just suggest she could make make a tree so Kendal could get out with Tess taking Alinua’s side while Falst remains silently watches (above them?) while Dainix tries to mediate all sides farly and Voidy snarkily making comments so Erin really has to defend his points under double pressure (or one and a half if Tess is just sticking to providing rational arguments to Alinua’s feelings and gleefully exposing holes in Erin’s plans. It might escalate so much it might make Dainix want to leave temporally or permanently (though that might make my Dainix loving fellows really unhappy).
I know I’m 2 days late here, but I feel very strongly that they would definitely do the Star Wars thing and have Tess and Dainix pose as guards, bringing in Falst as a fake prisoner (they’re all worried about re-traumatizing him, but he volunteered and insists that he’s fine). Then he’d make his way over to Kendall and help Erin and Alinua as they break in somehow with magic, e.g. tunneling (bickering all the while, of course).
My prediction is that Erin is going to end up taking the Glort apart element by element using his awe-inspiring Elemental Magus plus Void Mage powers. We’ve never seen him use all of them at once. It’ll be awesome! Also, since this is Red we’re talking about, it’ll be really pretty.
so THAT’S what dainix’s hand looks like when extinguished. it’s cleaner than i expected. i guess it just reassembled itself
unless it got glort corrupted or something
Prediction: the cracks will continue to grow all over the ceiling, surprising Falst who didn’t mean to cause so much damage, but it then turns out that it’s actually Erin’s magic interacting with the Lacrima’s and rescue team #1 has arrived.
… then we speedrun them getting into trouble such that rescue team #2 serves a purpose.
The fight seems to be all but through
But Glort must fall when rock does too

Phew i thought he burned his arm out ?
I posted this on the wrong page before, but
“CRACK” sound effects signaling a good thing? It is as the sooth sayers long predicted!
Aurora Question 88-ish: Goopy le Grande seems to be almost humanoid in that third panel. What are your theories on the Slime with Around 7 Eyes

I’m also going with “something human got soaked-up in it”

the effects of those eyes is so cool slay

Falst at fault for the fresh fault line faulting.
So at least it looks like having a fire-limb cut off doesn’t affect the flesh limb the same way. That’s good. I was pretty certain that was the case, but not 100 percent certain.
Yeah, Voidy tried that too and it didn’t work any better for him.
congratulations, you’re all allowed to breathe again, no more doing that weird thing where you have a breath-holding competition with a fictional character
I feel called out. What else am I supposed to do when watching pirates of the Caribbean??

it has been zero days since our last wordless page
FALST USED IT TO SAVE DAINIX INSTEAD OH MY GOD……… FALLLSSST.. .. .
Anonymous Aurora Question #13: How would the Floof squad orchestrate a Prison break, if Kendals happened to get arrested (I know something similar happened during Zuurith arc, but in this specific case I would ask for them to not literally “break” the prison?
Erin would desperatly try to make a plan
Then they’d drop it, once the action began
Alinua breaks everything, like you do
And Tess joins it with som lightning too
Falst’s got the stealth, so steals some keys
And Dainix has tools to pick locks with ease
Then Kendal gets out, says “Why have you come?
This is all my fault.” Which the rest think is dumb
‘Cause of course they’d save him, that’s what friends do
Why save everyone else, then not trust that they’ll too?
Oh sorry I missed the bit about not literally breaking the prison

TL;DR: Physics, the most powerful weapon of all.
