That’s so cool, you can even spot everyone in the gang (looks like Tess is reading something while watching over Kendal. Maybe tgat fantasy series Erin likes that Kendal was seen reading as well?)
Holy crap I had no idea there were actual people shapes until you pointed it out…and even then, it took like a solid minute of searching to actually identify each individual one. WOW
I hadn’t noticed the figures were actually of the cast, I thought they were just “random people” (since I only saw a single pair, partially obscured, looks like Dainix and maybe Falst, bottomish center, plus Erin behind her that I assumed was just “how he looks in Life-O-Vision”). I had noticed all the different forms of life, and how Life needed “perspective” because it keeps seeing everything everywhere all at once, and thought that Alinua was getting some of that “vision overload” stuff and seeing forms of life from all over existence.
Woah.
There they are. Interesting, she sees every living thing around her. Bugs, tree roots, fungi, even the “Morlocks”. There’s Kendal off to the side.

Are those claws that appear all over the bottom of the page the crawlers? I bet Ali won’t handle meating them very well.

I love that in amongst all that you can see that she clearly did find them. Absolutely gorgeous page, Red. I lurk, but wanted to make sure to complement this one. The art’s always good in this, but this page is up there with seeing Life a while.

Really, this is GORGEOUS! I love all the details, the various life forms, finding the gang among all the other living things… and then I notice how many clawed hands are at the bottom.

Every time Alinua does amazing things with her magic, the comment section cheers while Red’s drawing hand groans. This page is just amazing in its beauty and complexity; seeing all kinds of plants, animals, fungi, on display, all connected and leading to Alinua, really gives me world tree and branches of evolution vibes.
Alinua herself looks very impressive and the centrepiece for the page. The waving tendrils of her hair, arms and hands in a purposeful pose to channel energy, clothes not drawn in this page echoing her Life powered dream she just had. I’m half-expecting her next major magic use will involve her growing, or have the glowing impression of, eight extra eyes like Life has.
Well, aura reading from Hilltop it is! More intense and directed than the passive viewing she was doing in her sleep and geared towards sensing for the life energy inside all living things, from simple plants to complex animals. From these images she might even be sensing the life energy that dissolved into water and leached into stone; that’s a very wide field of view.
Prediction for next week: She finds the boys location (you can even see them in this page a bit above the bottom centre) but also senses the sheer number of crawlers and thus the danger they’re in. Depending on what Alinua says, Erin may even start using Stone magic to dig into the Ancient bunker.
And not just the writing/drawing hand but back, eyes and mind is involved in the art too!
Inspecting every single little piece of this because ooooooooh so shiny! And a trilobite! Lots of grasping, clawy hands though…. and that dragon-ish-body…… *shiver*

OH MY GOD W H A T THIS IS GORGEOUS!
Lighting? Superb. Colour? Amazing. Composition? Wow
I love how the proximity of the image on the page matches the proximity to Alinua outside of the vision– Falst and Dainix are in the middle and down from her (indicating directly below), you can see Tess and Kendal to the far right (Tess is reading near a lock of her hair), and you can see Erin directly behind her. (The various scenes of claws below her also probably belong the the cave crawlers,
You also have all the other signs of life in the area being picked up as well, even at different levels of size, so you can see a bird (also matching proximity, being a bit above Alinua on the page), a bunch of bugs, some sort of protist, and straight up a bunch of cells near Falst and Dainix, confirming that both cells and microorganisms exist in Aurora

On the bright side they’re collector items which only 300 are made of every 10 years, so they’ll keep their value.
When were they made?
It’s been about twenty years since the movies came out. So there might already be 600 of them. The more that are made, the less they’ll be worth.

Apparently, Tess is reading a book while guarding Kendal. (Far right, center; beneath one of Alinua’s rivers of hair, to the right of the adorable noodle. (I find snakes to be cute.)) I wonder if it’s one of Erin’s– …Right. Stupid question; he’s the only one in the group who packed books at all.
Alinua’s hair resembles the trapping ribbons from her dream.
There looks to be a burrower wyrm nearby, apparently sleeping. (Far left, just below center; beneath the highway of ants and something’s tail, to the left of a mushroom colony.) Not to be confused with the nearby tortoise, which apparently has four eyes.
There’s also a bit of either the neck or the torso of a much larger, much noodlier dragon. (Just right of center, just below center; beneath the lizard mom and the squirrel, to the left of… some egg-eating creature? I thought it was a badger at first, but now it looks more like some kind of weasel to me.) I hope they’re friendly, or at least passive; the dragons in this story so far, mortal and divine, have (with the exception of Light (for now)) all been enemies of the group that (with the exceptions of Light and Void (for now)) Tess has needed to punch into submission or death (or at least attempt to with Tynan) to keep the group alive.
I… Think actually that weasel-looking creature is incubating them? It’s draped over all the eggs and its eyes are closed, like it’s sleeping…Kinda gives me Pokemon vibes, ngl

If that’s the case, it can’t be the one who laid them, even if egg-laying is normal for mammals of this planet (and I assume that it isn’t); those things approach half of the creature’s total body size. Either it’s guarding and hoarding those eggs to eat later, or if you’re right, then this is one half of a symbiotic relationship we’re seeing here.
It could be the male of a species in which females are much larger. That is a thing.
The mystery has been solved via Red’s Tumblr account; she says the creature is of a species that frequently adopts abandoned or orphaned children (and eggs) of other species.

Oh wow! You can see so many little details! I haven’t properly checked, but it looks like Erin is in the top left corner, Falst and Danix appear in the lower middle of the page slightly left of center, and Kendal is middle of the far right side.

Red, you probably won’t read this but you helped inspire me to take up art again after a few years thinking I wouldn’t bother and rarely even doodling. Please don’t feel like the work you put out into the world goes unappreciated. This comic has been a source of comfort for me on some very bad days for me, and I just want to say, thank you for this and for the acceptance and happiness you put into the world.
