What is your favorite secondary power of the elements? Like, fire has transmutation and I think wind has communication or something.
I clearly havenāt been paying enough attention to the magic system.
Honestly, Waters mirroring seems like the coolest one, it also has erosion as a higher property but mirroring is the big one
Definitely Lifeās secondary of Adaptation. Life was able to remove VDās [ower from Alinua, and that had to be very different from anything sheās tried before. Alinua herself is constantly developing new powers and refining what she has. Life adapts, and thatās why the VD is so scared of her. She gets better at fighting him every time they face each other.
It seems that for Dainix to lose an arm

Does it still count as a no dialogue page if the SFX is this prolific? I particularly like the different flavours of fire shown by it: solid, intentional, strong in panel 1; static-like and paler in 2 to show his power failing; and the sudden, big, revitalising burst of flame in 4. Actions speak louder than words, so does that mean SFX speak louder than dialouge?
The glort is screaming; Iāll take that as good news that Dainix is hurting it. However that trauma vision, or the composition of the slime, is disrupting Dainixās ability keep his fire form solid. Looks like he can regen it like he did his whole body in the Erin/V.D. fight, but if that happens at the wrong time he could be in trouble.
Weāll have to see later how Falstās spellcarving is going; heās probably breaking several Erin safe magic laws with the rushed carving on a broken lacrima, but needs must. At least the glort is leaving him alone and other underground horrors avoid this room.
SFX is not dialogue its āaudibleā action for the silent medium of comic book art. This page was āloudā with violent action. I like that Red uses creative sound affects. All this action of Dainix and Falst is thickening the tension makes me feel the squeeze of agonized waiting for release!

Iām a little confused. Did his arm just get ripped off? How?
Looks like the piece of goo he ripped out of Goh made it fall of in some way. Not sure how, I donāt think just cooling him down would workā¦
I think heās struggling to control his flame. Heās struggling for balance. too much and heās consumed as weāve seen. too little, and he goes out.
Back a few pages ago I think he lost it to his poorly controlled fire. We see them grasp at their arm and wince with an SFX Crack which would suggest the fire has done harm to him. It has consumed his arm, like his eye previously. Itās just this page that itās revealed thereās nothing beneath because he lost focus.
Did his arm just kind ofā¦ go out? Or did glort rip it off? Because it looks like the former to me.

When Dainix uses his crucible form he isnāt covering his arm with soulfire, heās turning his entire arm into soulfire. It seems he can regenerate/remake/reassemble his soulfire body, much like he did in the fight against V.D.; weāve just never seen it before in his partly transformed state. It certainly doesnāt seem to be concerning him that much.
It was waaay easier to accept that when he was made of flames rather than just partially fuming. Iām really glad itās not a sudden happenstance of GoT-level character mutilation, I wasnāt ready for that ^^ā

More seriously, Red you did such a good job with this! The way Danix moves, how the soul fire works (or is being demonstrated to work) being trans-mutative. Something within and intrinsic. Crucibles āareā the fire right?
Red you did amazing work here! the way the soul fire transmutes has been a big question and seeing Dannix fighting in this semi transformed state is special.

Okay but seriously though, when Dainix lost his eye it was a combination of magiāmental and physical factors, and in this case, his arm has not been seriously physically injured in any way (not THAT one, at least, and even thatās been healed).
Then againā¦ the similarity in magmaāish appearance of his missing eye and currently absent arm in panel three isā¦ concerning. But honestly this could very well just a sign of him struggling to keep the flames up. Which isā¦ ALSO very concerning, considering he IS, actually genuinely IS the fire.
ā¦I estimate the chances that his eyepatch is still in one piece, though, to be rapidly approaching zer0.
