I am straight as hell, but the placement seems deliberate, only so that red doesn’t need to conveniently place Alinua’s hair or the camera angle anymore. There aren’t a lot of ways to suspend a person in the air using fibers or cloth.

As an ace writer, I will say there are two wolves inside me: one wants to overanalyze every component of my fiction to avoid attracting Certain Corners of the Internet, and the other wants me to deliberately drop ambiguous references as a way to troll readers. Neither are happy when I attract CCI by accident because I didn’t see it when I wrote it

it’s likely what makes Alinua different to the Collector. Alinua values life because she died. the Collector doesn’t value life because she can’t die. I don’t think Life wants to make the same mistake twice
I was expecting Life to want to give Alinua some perspective. Life, as we know it, isn’t just animals, trees, and people. Rot and degredation are as much a part of life as we are, and in this world, Life is so much more than just regular living things on the planet. It’s also the planet itself.
So I suspect LIFE wants to give Alinua some perspective on what she is, why she is, and what she can do, and so on.
I think it’s Life that wants a mortal’s perspective, not so much that Life wants to *give* a divine perspective. There’s lots of things the primordials just can’t see because of their astronomic scale
I think it’s about Life gaining perspective. There’s only so much you can understand your creation when your conscience is scattered among all of them.
Life orbital-dropped Alinua. But then her fall was stopped by the censorship brigade who threw ribbons of cloth at her to hide her demonetizing bits. Now she’s stuck in space in a frankly not very comfortable pose.
Alinua: Thanks for the clothes, but was the cloth rope suspension binding really necessary?
Life: Your first tactic in a fight is to use binding vines to trap your opponent; you’re in no position to criticise.
As everyone else is saying, this art is amazing. The disintegration of Life’s body into streams of herself, droplets of green energy forming torrents, or even auroras, of Life. Making Alinua purple to contrast with her green powers was a great choice.
Interesting way to end it with her semi-bound in darkness, with a faint green glow around her. If I had to guess I’d say Life is showing Alinua what her perspective of the world was like before she became her vessel; dark and quiet, and herself too bound up with the make up of the world to change that.
on the one hand, red did find an effective solution for covering dream logic… vulnerability, without having to keep using the floof.

I feel like Life’s thing is speaking very briefly unless she has to. I think that the only time she’s said more than one word was during the fight with Jolon. I guess she’s a fan of “show don’t tell”. Maybe that dream Alinua had back in chapter 10 was actually similar to this one, where Life is trying to show her what it’s like to be her, so she understands why she wants Alinua as a vessel in the first place? (The dream I’m talking about is the one where Alinua dreamt she was a giant green woman underground if you forgot)

It’s hard to tell at first because her eyes are closed and she’s entirely green, but you can see Life’s head in profile in panel 1, looking in the planet’s direction, as if she’s thinking about how best to make Alinua understand her perspective.
Ok but like. What if the perspective Life’s talking about isn’t some grand godlike being guiding poor silly mortal type situation? What if it’s the reverse?
I mean think about it, the primordials are eldritch beings on a literally planetary scale. Even if Life is Life and therefore probably cares about not wiping out a worlds worth of life, it’s unlikely she can really comprehend the mortal life that now depends on her remaining in a mostly dead state. How alien must the currently living races and their lives be to her, just for the sheer comparative fragility? What if all these disastrous attempts to connect with life mages are her desperately trying to understand the mortal races. An endlessly repeating question of what and why and who are you being screamed at a pitch that only a select few can hear?

Anyway. My theory on the perspective thing. Life is trying to show Ali whats it like to be in her shoes. Always watching the worlds going ons but never being able to directly interfere (hence the bindings). (Also @TheUnknownGame s comment inspired this particular theory.)
This could explain why Life refused to help Ali free Zuurith’s prisoners. Because she’s so used to not getting involved or because she trusts Ali’s experience to handle it better then she could.
As for the isolation, maybe to reinforce the idea if being bound. (Life bound to adamant, Alinua bound to her tree home)
Tho personally I thinks Life’s looking for Ali’ perspective as well.

I’ve been thinking that too, that Life has kept trying to find an avatar so that she can see what the world is like to someone who lives on the surface, instead of to someone who constitutes a part of the surface. She was met with failure after tragic, catastrophic failure for centuries until Alinua came along, hence the “FINALLY” when Alinua’s soul transformed. And from the looks of things, quite a few others are on that train of thought as well.

The color scheme of the ribbons in panel three are very similar to the color of the adamant prison the void dragon describes when he makes Erin go into the cave. In panels four and five, however, the seem clear, which seems like it would come from wind. My prediction is that we are either about to see the other primordials, how the collector influences life, or cut away to danix and falst.
I just wonder: were those golden strands once Vast’s? Back in 1.11.11 [Chapter11, page 11] It did happen a while ago, but maybe the Primordial is using it, now.

I adore the emotions you can see Alinua travelling through in these panels. From the apprehension of falling to moment of being caught safely and securely, to the final panel where she’s opening her eyes to presumably look at what Life wants her to see.
Life dissolving in that first panel is also beautiful. Life closing her eyes as she concentrates, the feeling of motion trapped in the way her hair flows and dissolves. I can see the movement happening in my mind’s eye.

I adore the emotions you can see Alinua travelling through in these panels. From the apprehension of falling to moment of being caught safely and securely, to the final panel where she’s opening her eyes to presumably look at what Life wants her to see.
Life dissolving in that first panel is also beautiful. Life closing her eyes as she concentrates, the feeling of motion trapped in the way her hair flows and dissolves. I can see the movement happening in my mind’s eye.
Life looks so tired…
