“You forget he is a god. It will take more than that.”
not that i don’t love Kendal’s renewed confidence, Tess’s continued confidence, and Erin’s boasting, but one burning cloud is not going to defeat Tynan, the Storm Of Terror. there’s still a good battle to be had here
@Sunstorm I believe Tynan is de-incarnating in panel 2 and then re-incarnating behind Erin in panel 3, trying to pull the same “teleports behind you” move he did on Kendal in 1-16-28. Only this time Kendal is ready to defend Erin from it.
Damn, I am hooked on this webcomic. Red I don’t know how you do it <3
I first heard about this on the magic systems tier list Livestream and binge-read the whole comic.
Also may the 4th be with you.
Tynan: (teleports behind-
Kendal: Oh no you don’t!
(sigh) Erin, that is a masterful burn, you’re out of earshot of most of Zuurith, and I doubt Tynan will be ratting you out to the Paladins, but maybe you’re being a little too hubristic. Proclaiming such things in the open near Paladin HQ is a little risky; if you have to at least dig a hole to whisper the secret into, like Midas’s barber.
So the order of the day now is Kendal and Tess protect Erin while he continues to build and cast his fire spells. Tynan going to have to pull something unexpected; his backstab approach isn’t going to work anymore and, despite being taunted by Kendal, knows he’s not the main threat (or at least the current main threat).
Hmm, that glow behind Tynan in the final panel. Is that more of Erin’s current fire spell, Dainix showing up to the party, or Zuurith’s resident fire mages having their own go at the storm? (there was chatter amongst the civilians looking for more fire mages)
Now, now, Erin, no bragging. I know that “Professional storm destroyer, storms removed while you wait” is a good thing to have on your resume, but you are not supposed to MOCK them while you are doing it!
I’d make a ‘ouch good burn son’ joke but i think that goes without saying at this point.
And Tahraim thought Zuurith was pathetic, i’m probably going to get struck by lightening by this but oh how the turns have tabled on this one.
and maybe, just maybe i’m getting ahead of myself, but it’s starting to look like Dainix isn’t getting his dramatic entrance on this one
(or is he?)
I can feel your lack of fear. Take my weapon, STRIKE ME DOWN and your journey to the Dark Side will be complete. Hmm… I think “I find your lack of fear disturbing” is definitely better.
Okay, so we were right. They’re losing their fear.
I feel really uncultured saying this (typing this?) but I haven’t actually seen all the Star Wars movies. Which movie is that quote from?
Remember, everyone, it looks like they’re winning, but this entire chapter is climax, so Tynan’s probably gonna pull something out, or we’ve got Voidy coming to ruin everyone’s day.
I like how the blue streaks, indicating the sheer speed that Kendal moved with, come from both his eyes and his gem.
Evil Tree:
Actually, given the pinkish tint to that glow, I’m pretty sure that’s the light of the sunset shining through the hole in the clouds. Considering that the glow only shows up more prominently on the final panel compared to the rest of the page, you might also be right in that Zuurith’s fire mages are taking shots at the storm (Dainix is currently too preoccupied with escort duty to experiment with soulfire).
I’m loving the fact that any one of them would be so unlikely to take Tynan down alone, but the trio together are giving him a Very Bad Day. The power of friendship in action!
SarrissaTeiflingDruid, If you’re talking about “I find your lack of fear disturbing.” then it’s a riff on one of Vader’s lines in A New Hope, the actual quote is “I find your lack of faith disturbing”.
Looks like Kendal’s gotten his second wind. That’s good, he’s going to need that once things inevitably go sideways…
As for Star Wars quotes… Think I’m gonna have to get back to you on that one…Um, Han to Luke during the Trench Run : “Great work, kid! Now let’s blow thing thing and go home!”
@treebranch yeah, but it’s not like Tynan’s suddenly a joke. he’s still very powerful and very fearsome. he might even begin attacking the refugees with lightning or something
Congrats to everyone with enough braincells to make a star wars pun 😀 I enjoyed all of them!
Tynan’s definitely going to try something drastic. He needs that fear back. Gonna second @Hermit Thrush, he’ll probably attack civilians now that attacking heroes isnt working
“Great, kid; don’t get cocky!”
“You underestimate my power!”
“Don’t be too proud of this magical fireball you’ve created; The ability to destroy a cloud is insignificant next to the power of the storm.”
“No, no, no, you will die!”
So, the way Kendal delivers his line almost sounds like a super villain. Like that is a fucking terrifying face! And it’s so epic coming from this freaking cinnamon roll! You done crossed the wrong demi-god!
I mean, come on guys! It’s literally staring you in the face. I’m disappointed that this exact pun wasn’t already posted by now.
Though, youngstormlord gets bonus points for at least making the reference.
Oh, Erin’s dropping a subtle hint to Tynan that he’s the one who destroyed The Storm. If Tynan’s payed enough attention to current events to know that Vash is gone, I wonder if that bit of news has made its way to him. Will he make the connection? Probably not, even if he did know that The Maw had vanished he’s probably too focused on his bruised ego and Erin’s inflated ego to think straight.
Tbh, Tynan is now in a situation when he needs to be less predictable – cause collateral damage to the people of Zuurith, try to force the team to chase him, and look for a moment to attack Erin when he’s not defended. Otherwise, he’s toast.
Erin’s line about the capital-S Storm actually brings up an interesting point. Did a god representing the Storm develop? Or was the Void Dragon the “god” of the Storm?
okay, what’s happening in the second panel? Why are there eyes in the lightning?
He’s teleporting through the storm and trying do do a “Nothing personal kid” on Erin
Thematic joke… Thematic joke…
Um… Because Tynan’s clouds are being destroyed, and so you can see the stars? Bit of a stretch though.
@Sunstorm that is a very good question. Tynan bossfight phase 2?
“You forget he is a god. It will take more than that.”
not that i don’t love Kendal’s renewed confidence, Tess’s continued confidence, and Erin’s boasting, but one burning cloud is not going to defeat Tynan, the Storm Of Terror. there’s still a good battle to be had here
“I find your lack of fear disturbing.”
i haven’t actually seen star wars, but i know this one!
@Sunstorm I think he was dematerializing to try and blindside Erin.
@Sunstorm the Budgie
that was Tynan unmaking his body and remaking his body so that he could attack Erin from behind
Attack from behind!
A strong defense from Kendal.
He has lost their fear.
May the Fourth be with you, everyone.
And ruh roh, Tynan’s getting desperate, and Erin continues to roast him on the mic. Even Kendal’s getting digs in.
The second panel: Tynan – T R I G G E R E D
I live for it.
Before, Erin was merely an enthusiastic amateur pain in the ass
@Sunstorm I believe Tynan is de-incarnating in panel 2 and then re-incarnating behind Erin in panel 3, trying to pull the same “teleports behind you” move he did on Kendal in 1-16-28. Only this time Kendal is ready to defend Erin from it.

today the crew seems a bit like the Mandolorian crew.
Tess = Cara Dune
Kendal = Mando
Erin =Greef Karga
Tynan: (teleports behind-

Oh man, what a blow to a bloated ego. Losing to a couple of mortals and the body of the god who put him in his place last time.
Now, now, Erin, no bragging. I know that “Professional storm destroyer, storms removed while you wait” is a good thing to have on your resume, but you are not supposed to MOCK them while you are doing it!
Brave characters, all three of them…
They’re real storm troopers…
TL;DR: Looks like you’re losing now, cloudy boi.
I’d make a ‘ouch good burn son’ joke but i think that goes without saying at this point.

(or is he?)
Though his sword flashes with lightning and rage,
Great Tynan, the storm of terror,
Now faces defeat as once he had,
Against Vash, Kendal’s bearer.
Looks like my comment last time got deleted. A pity.
I can feel your lack of fear. Take my weapon, STRIKE ME DOWN and your journey to the Dark Side will be complete. Hmm… I think “I find your lack of fear disturbing” is definitely better.
Happy Star Wars Day!
“I love democracy” doesn’t work very well either. Neither does “I don’t like sand.” Man, this’ll be bothering me all day!
So interesting, Kendal’s eyes are beginning to light up. Not quite divine yet, but I wonder if that is where this is heading
Okay, so we were right. They’re losing their fear.

Read this while I happened to be listening to Live and Learn, and it suits the scene far too well. Headcanon ost.
Erin: I don’t like you, Tynan. You’re coarse, rough and irritating, and you get everywhere.
I like how the blue streaks, indicating the sheer speed that Kendal moved with, come from both his eyes and his gem.
Evil Tree:

What do you mean he just now adds it to his resume? It was already there in big bold embossed print~ With a silver border! :3
“professional pain in the ass” would be erin’s WHOLE CV
next up: tynana uses copy ninjutsu (?) and dainix has to sav the day
The eyes….
this is going far too well
still waiting for the other, dragon-shaped shoe to drop
I LOVE Tynan dematerializing just to teleport right over to Kendal as a fear tactic. AND I LOVE THAT IT DOESN’T WORK AT ALL. THESE BITCHES ARE UNFAZED
@veggiesnake the main source of Tynan’s power is from fear and when people fear him less, his power weakens
alt text: erin adds “professional pain in the ass” to his resume
Prediction on how things will go sideways: Tynan decides to make more fear by *directly attacking civilians*
Tynan feels like a soulsborne boss who’d be overpowered had he not been on the recieving end of a gank, with a mage. Not his best day.
In the last panel it kind of looks like the lightning coming out of Tynan’s eyes are tears of frustration. That’s how I chose to read it anyway.
(Yeah, I could probably find something better…)
For Star Wars reference I want to say Duel of the Fates?
@treebranch yeah, but it’s not like Tynan’s suddenly a joke. he’s still very powerful and very fearsome. he might even begin attacking the refugees with lightning or something
Congrats to everyone with enough braincells to make a star wars pun 😀 I enjoyed all of them!
Tynan’s definitely going to try something drastic. He needs that fear back. Gonna second @Hermit Thrush, he’ll probably attack civilians now that attacking heroes isnt working
Just…look at Tess in the first panel. Look.
Maybe it could be:
“Don’t try it [Tynan].”
@Phoenix of the North
SMUG
*Duel of the Fates intensifies*
“Great, kid; don’t get cocky!”
“You underestimate my power!”
“Don’t be too proud of this magical fireball you’ve created; The ability to destroy a cloud is insignificant next to the power of the storm.”
“No, no, no, you will die!”
Thank you for reminding me that Tynan has the high ground
“IT’S OVER FLOOF GANG! I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND”
Wasn’t “professional pain in the ass” already on his resume from the beginning???
Turns out that fear is not the unlimited power Tynan thought it was.
Haha it probably shouldn’t have taken me so long to realize the “last storm I destroyed” was the one with the dragon in the middle.
According to my Star Wars nerd friend, in the sequels Kylo Ren said “Can you feel it?”
Erin’s smugness almost came back to bite him in the arse! Kendal had Erin’s back and was magnificent.
I love this interplay but I am SO dang worried for the Floof Squad!
So, the way Kendal delivers his line almost sounds like a super villain. Like that is a fucking terrifying face! And it’s so epic coming from this freaking cinnamon roll! You done crossed the wrong demi-god!
“SUCH LIMITED, POWER!”
I mean, come on guys! It’s literally staring you in the face. I’m disappointed that this exact pun wasn’t already posted by now.

OH, OH, OH, I’VE GOT IT
“I feel a great disturbance in the fear…”
I know I’m a day late, but May the 4th be with you!
To y’all who are making Star Wars puns – well done, I can’t think of any XD
Tbh, Tynan is now in a situation when he needs to be less predictable – cause collateral damage to the people of Zuurith, try to force the team to chase him, and look for a moment to attack Erin when he’s not defended. Otherwise, he’s toast.
Veggiesnake is probably correct, but I would like to point out that in this case, *lack of* fear leads to anger.
UNLIMITED POWER
man Tynan just got burned TWICE
Can Kendral feel their fear?
Erin’s line about the capital-S Storm actually brings up an interesting point. Did a god representing the Storm develop? Or was the Void Dragon the “god” of the Storm?
Would you say they’ve gained… a new hope
Would you say they’ve gotten… a new hope?
