now that you are a teenager, your body may experience some changes, all normal in puberty: hair starts to grow in some places, your sweat smells more, you may develop dragon-fire breath…
Look! His eyes are normal again! So coooooooool. Tahraim is being such a bro here lol. It seems like Dainix was probably expecting Caliban and not Tahraim to be there when he called for help.
This does seem more like Caliban than Tharaim for what we’ve seen of them, so my bet is on Caliban disguising as Tharaim for some unknown reason. Also, if I’m right then it’s one more argument for Caliban being Red’s self insert.
I know I might be biased, what with Red’s career, but this page has a sort of mythic vibe to me. And I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s letting go of of pain one piece at a time. I like it! Well done!
That’s right folks, not ONLY can he give you cryptic advice! Not Only can he make powerful God tier items! Not Only can he rock that outfit! But he can Also give good emtoional support and help you work through your baggage!!!!
And as a reminder to everyone out there, HE IS SINGLE!!!
(at least I assume so…(wait can Gods have romantic relationships in this world?(WAIT CAN GODS HAVE CHILDREN!?!)))
Anyone else picturing Tahraim behind a Peanuts style psychiatric help booth or is it just me?
I’m reminded of Tahraim’s words back in 1-12-10 “People temper at a more complicated pace than metal”. Dainix is not in a great state but his partial transformation may have been necessary, both as an outlet for his emotion and for Tahraim to better grasp the problem.
Yeah, having to play nice for the arena staff, performing bloodsport for the entertainment of others and limiting his power to not hurt his fellow prisoners must have made him angry. Being forced to fight Kendal may have simply been the straw that broke the camel’s back; a planned break, but still a break.
A lot of the lines from his and Caliban’s conversation are all coming together. He still needs that final nudge for him to regain his sense of agency. Every chance that’s what Wednesday’s guild talk will hope to remedy.
TL;DR: It’s grade school wellness class all over again, those deep breathing exercises actually help here though….
Hi, it’s me (Somebody) using the username I kinda wanted to use from the beginning, I just was a bit shy and scared. Didn’t want to be confused with a certain member of the OSP crew. Thanks for the encouragement everyone, I feel a lot more comfortable now and commenter “someone” can use their name without me getting confused!
I always like being sure that when a page of this story is confusing, that confusion gets cleared up on the next page. Turns out Dainix was asking the rain to kill him.
I know this whole story is beautiful, but I especially love the fifth through seventh panels here. Enough said.
veggiesnake:
And this time, it’s the right eye and left hand, the opposites of what Vash lost. I would make a joke about Tahraim’s weapons coming at a steep price, but considering that it seems possible for Dainix to regain what he had before the transformation, I won’t go through with it. Also interesting to note is that Tahraim likes to make weapons (or get them under control in this case) from unique materials, like starmetal for Kendal and soulfire for Dainix. I do hope that Dainix won’t be jerked around by Caliban when this is over; he’s his own person, he should be able to do what he wants.
He not just the god of smithing- he is the god of improv therapy sessions, and we all need a friend who can do that.
Really though, he’s so calm after being actively set on fire.
Also, what’s soulfire? is that what his fire hand is? and his fire breath? or is that something completely different Tahraim’s just using as an example?
ImuyanMangoCat, agreed.
Aymar, BAHAHAHA THATS AMAZING!
Ryan, yup all the time
Captain Cutlet, regardless of whether Caliban is disguised Tahraim, I also agree with Caliban being Red’s self insert. Originally I thought it was the one with the best hair but, well read SablePhoenix’s comment on the last page… For your second comment: I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!! I WAS READING THAT IN RED’S VOICE! (I could totally hear it in Blue’s voice as well though)
youngstormlord, You’re right!!! *head explodes* (I thought I was the only one constantly seeing ATLA parodies lol)
gendersnatcher, same….
veggiesnake, Oooohhhh… Good point!
Voonha, oml I need answers to those questions STAT!
Evil Tree, that first sentence was amazing lmao! As for the rest, wow good points!
Fay, Mexgar, Sodose, AGREED. I’m sorry to my old therapist, you’re an awesome person but if I had the chance to get Tahraim as my therapist I would 100% take it.
TheUnknownGame, I wonder if he will regain them or not… considering all the parallels, it seems increasingly likely that DAINIX will the be the one to vanquish Tynan.
It’s nice to see Dainix get some help with his fire problem. It makes sense that his repressed emotions are what are making his fire so bad, since I think it’s been said that fire controls emotions in this world. It’s sort of an extended metaphor— his emotions are exploding inside of him and he needs to let them all out or else he’ll explode himself. It’s all about proper emotion control baby.
The way I’ve seen it generally interpreted is either that soulfire is a flame that uses one’s soul and/or life force as fuel (Dresden Files), the flame has mystical properties and can hurt the uncanny (spirits, demons, etc–Dresden again), or it is literally a being’s soul ( sometimes made manifest) and the extinguishing of it will kill them (Transformers) Sometimes it’s a combination of these. Based on what Tahraim (Caliban?) is saying, it sounds like a combination of the first and third options. But it also makes it sound like Ignans are beings of fire in a mortal shell, which protects and tempers them–or at the very least, it’s what they began as (though whether or not they were ordinary humans before even that…). And since such a thing would be a delicate balance, if their flame grows beyond their control… Well, then a demon is born.
I’m not sure if this is the best way I could explain it, but I hope the gist of it at least comes through. I know what I think I’m seeing here and I know how it makes sense to me, but I’m not sure I’m putting it into words correctly.
You know what? @Skye and @ImuyanMangoCat have literally been with Aurora since like, page one, chapter one? I feel like these people deserve some recognition! It takes a lot of time and effort to keep invested with ANYTHING in this fast paced world, especially in the internet. It would be nice for them to have a little like, mention or something in the comic. Or maybe characters named after them or something. I dunno. What do you think, comments section?
Soulfire, huh? Unless that’s like the chimeric plague, where that’s just what they call it without understanding it’s from the influence of a primordial, maybe Dainix isn’t actually primordial fire’s avatar. Id still put money down that he becomes a permanent member of the floof squad.
SO many great details. Floof boy doesn’t get rained on, drops turn into steam before even touching him.
Therapeutic Screaming(tm)
Tahraim not noting soot or embers on his person whatsoever + Let’s Move Along within seconds
calling that next he should punch, and then we get interrupted by the mountain splitting apart.
no actually it looks more like a claw, so rip something apart?..
i think dainix may be like a charizard, though that sorta depends on whether or not you believe the theory that chaizards fire is fueled by methane.
by the way, has anyone else seen the pokemon trailer for the gen 9 games?
I absolutely love how the world is essentially ending around Dainix right now but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s going through his own personal mental health crisis, and even a literal god recognizes the importance of that
Lol, I haven’t been here that long–I found this comic back in I think early June? I have comments on the early pages because I started to do the archival Alt Text before someone beat me to the rest of it. In fact, I’m fairly sure ImuyanMangoCat’s been here longer than me (I know they’ve changed usernames, but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was before or when exactly they changed it)
Honestly, while it’s a nice thought, being honored suchly (if it were event to happen) should probably go to someone like HelloHaiku or Somebody, who have been here so long they have both established signature Comments Things and people grow worried about if they don’t regularly post.
Aromar Dyspros:
Well, he’s all but officially one anyway, lol…
To alolanvulpix:
I have–as far as setup for the announcement part I think it was one of the better ones. It does seem a bit odd not to see box legends yet, though. The graphical balance looks interesting, given some of the textured Pokemon we see in it, and it’ll be interesting to see how the region and starters shake out…
Honestly I just find it hilarious that the base personality ascribed to Sprigatito means it’s a Grass-type version of my cat.
Skye, and LikeADragon, yeah HelloHaiku, Evil Tree, Somebody, and ImuyanMangoCat, (formerly indigo Toxin), TheUnknownGame, Humanoid Clay, Hermit Thrush and a couple others have been here a while, and they definitely improve this comment section as a whole. I remember the panic when Hello Haiku went missing a while back, people were pretty worried about them. It’s exciting though that we get have them! Hello haiku, as the name implies does haikus based on the page, Evil Tree, Somebody, and TheUnknownGame do a lot of interesting page breakdowns, Hermit Thrush repeats the alt text for mobile users (big thanks for that) humanoid Clay does futrivia and pastrivia, Youngstormlord makes a lot of jokes, ImuyanMangoCat does a little art breakdown, a little panel breakdowns, some jokes and some yelling at red for keeping us in the dark on certain things and/or giving us cliffhangers and they all make amazing, nerdy references. (And I’m the random sassy idiot who shows up occasionally and responds to pretty much EVERYONE) and in general all the readers/commentors are absolutely amazing, but those are some of the most prominent in our little comic society and they would be sorely missed if they ever left! So big thanks to them, and big thanks to the rest of the readers!!! Y’all and this comic brighten up my day!
I think I’ll choose the fire croc, I have a history of favoring reptilian starter Pokemon (and if there are no straight up reptiles, anything that’s not a mammal). It’s a trend I didn’t notice until recently.
Well I know that the comments are wholesome but damn is it wholesome today!!! Ty @Hiii for the nice words, I’m extremely flattered!
And Ty @LikeaDragon for sending me appreciation.
I honestly didn’t think I was like one of the comments cornerstone people(eg. Hello Haiku, Evil Tree, The unknown game etc.), and I haven’t really been here as long as you think. I estimate I’ve been here since the scene on the mountain with Alinua and Falst, so I’ve been here for atleast 2 chapters.
I’ve been reading this comic for a little while now, but never commented so i may or may not comment more in the future. Just wanted to point out that in the panel Dainix breathes a bunch of fire the crack on his chest kinda flares up a bit and in the next panel that spot is glowy.
I’m sorry. Are you FORGING him? Are you gonna hold him up to a magnet before you dip him into a cylinder of oil? Is Doug gonna swing him through a fish before pronouncing that he will cut?
…are we sure this is Tahraim? Because other than the “brittle” motif, this way of speaking reminds a lot more of Caliban’s irreverent banter than Tahraim’s previously established tendency towards being cryptic and giving people the runaround. And we do know Caliban shapeshifts and is around.
@Drake
Eh, I don’t think this has Caliban’s vibes; there’s also no reason for Caliban to disguise themself as Tahraim (who Dainix may have never seen before) instead of some random mortal, as they did last time they spoke to Dainix. What’s the benefit of making Dainix think Tahraim’s nicer than they are? I think this is just another side of Tahraim we haven’t seen before- one where he feels the need to step in and help instead of just discussing someone’s fate with another god.
@Everyone who thinks Tahraim is actually Caliban: My take is that he’s acting like this because that’s what’s needed to help Dainix control his power and thus complete Caliban’s weapon.
Bluefire:
Congratulations on the name change! I’m glad you found your courage.
LikeaDragon:
As someone who has also been here a long time (if I remember correctly, Imuyan (formerly Indigo Toxin) and I have been here for the same amount of time, over two years now), I don’t think that’s a good idea. Let Red tell the story she wants to tell, without pressure from us to change it in any way, even if it’s something as minor as a character name. I’ve lately been making projections about what might happen in the next few pages, and those projections usually end up being some variety of incorrect. Am I mad that what I predicted didn’t come to pass? No; it just means that Red is telling a different story than I would, and she shouldn’t feel compelled to do otherwise. I’ve accepted that since I got here.
Stark9865:
I agree. Tahraim is Tahraim, Caliban is Caliban. This comment section has a weirdly recurrent habit of assuming that one character is actually a different character in disguise (Falst+Jolon and The Collector+the arenamaster are the crack theories I remember).
Hiii:
I don’t usually seek out attention or appreciation; but here, I’m glad to have found it. Thank you for your kind words to everyone.
I’ve been checking the comment section since I started reading, because I like to see the hype, the joy, the breakdowns and the wild speculation of what’s to come, and I am generally impressed by the overall good nature of the community. It does have a life of it’s own, and as humble long time stalker of the section, I hope it stays wholesome.
If everyone’s talking about how long they’ve been here, I think we should ask who started reading the comic when Red announced it on OSP? Cause I only started reading then, and I bet there was a massive influx of people at that point. I remember the comic being down for like two weeks straight cause Red accidentally DDoSA’ed herself with her millions of YouTube subscribers. For anyone who started reading this earlier, how did you find it? I’m really interested to know.
Lots of adorable, well-deserved comments today! congrats to everyone whos stuck around since the beginning (if any such people exist), and thank you to all the people whove already been named for making my delve into the comments section entertaining 😀
And to everyone else as well! You are all loved & appreciated <3
I dont actually remember when I joined, but I think it was somewhere in 2020/2021- before the announcement/death of the reply function, heh. chapter 11/12 maybe? It certainly took a while to binge the comic. I got to the discord from here, so I probably found the comic in a video description somewhere. Dont know when I started commenting.
I originally thought it was Caliban in disguise, but has Dainix actually met Caliban yet? Why would she need to hide from him? Between the forging/brittle analogies & the calm therapy in the middle of the chaos, I think it might actually be Tahraim, and this is how he's choosing to forge Dainix. I'm intersted to see this side of him that isnt quite so cryptic.
Skye, Stark9865, Bluefire, Shadowed faith, any one else that i might have missed: i’m seeing a lot of people who like sprigatito, sprigatito is my favorite so far too though all of them are good(this is rare, i usually dislike at least one). i’m not really suprised the grass type is my favorite because i’ve noticed a pattern where gens where the games were released before i was born (1-4), my favorite is the water type, and in every gen where the games were released during my lifetime (5-8, and potentionaly 9), my favorite is the grass type. it’s weird.
also the scenery was good, i was watching the trailer and thinking ‘i want to live here’ it just looked so amazing.
No clue how I got here initially, I forgot. It’s been half a year to a year, I never keep track of time, hence my TL;DR s aren’t very consistent. I think I fell down some variety of internet rabbit hole, one link leading to another. I decided to check it out because I was bored so why not and stayed because I liked it. I only began commenting a while after I originally checked it out because I am very shy and socially awkward. I guess since the commenters seemed less toxic here I hazarded a try and now I contribute one thing regularly but don’t say much else because I’m still a tad scared.
(continued) while it would be an honor to be mentioned in the comic I’d have to decline because:
1: I don’t really like attention, especially from “popular”/ “big” creators/ people.
2: I have a deep self loathing and don’t think I deserve anything.
I find it incredible that I picked up an empty spot and have now become linked with it and the comic community as a whole. I doubt I’ll leave anytime soon, I don’t really have much else to do (besides maybe adding to my own stories, but why do that) so I’ll read this little comic to have something cool to think about.
(to the people talking about Pokemon) my brother looked at the fire started and said “ive only known this fan maid fire croc for 5 seconds, but if anything happens to it, i will kill everyone in the room and then myself” and i said “its not fan maid.” and he looked at me like ‘what’, and i told him about gen 9, and he then repeated himself without the fan maid part (i think he was quoteing something, but this is one of the only few Internets i do.) (i think that was too many ‘and’s)
@hiii I nearly ran down here to say “You forgot hiii!” and then I actually looked at who posted XD
@Aromar Dyspros I started reading around the time Red announced it on OSP. I *might* have found it slightly before the crash? That, or it didn’t affect the archives as I blitzed through them to try to catch up.
Alolanvulpix:
Gen 1: Charmander or Bulbasaur, it always comes down to those and I’ll often choose one or the other, then play again and switch.
Gen 2: Chikorita or Totodile. I like the color blue, but I have a bit of a soft spot for Meganium. It was on my first Pokemon card.
Gen 3: Treecko. I have a shiny one now, he’s great.
Gen 4: Turtwig. I have a vivid memory of getting a card of it from a “friend” once, but I don’t know if that’s why I like it.
Gen 5: Snivy. I don’t know, I like it a lot.
Gen 6: Froakie. Couldn’t decide initially, so I chose the blue one and rolled with it. It grew on me.
Gen 7: Rowlet. The least person looking of the lot.
Gen 8: Sobble. I don’t like rabbits or gorillas as much as I like lizards, was kind of an easy choice.
Legends Arceus: Can’t decide, they finally managed to make a full starter trio with no member I gravitate towards. I just am not fond of Hisuian Decidueye, or I would choose it.
Gen 9: probably Fuecoco, because I like crocodilians.
So yes, definite trend towards reptiles. Generations without reptiles tend to make me think the longest or just not come to a satisfying conclusion on. I don’t know why this is.
I’ll completely honest, this seems a little rushed. Tahraim wasn’t led up to here, and Dainix’s emotional release has nearly no time spent on it, and I think he deserves more.
Red’s OSP plug is how I got here, too (which puts it about the time we first saw Dainix in the arena). I know it was probably after the crash, though, since the comments have never worked the way they apparently used to the entire time I’ve been here (although the crash may have occured while I was catching up, like Hermit Thrush)
To alolanvulpix:
Weirdly enough, across all the games I’ve played, I’ve unconsciously maintained a near-equal balance between the three Types (I believe Grass is +1 at the moment) But going just by the first game of each Gen (and subbing FireRed in for Red because I had Yellow), honestly then…Huh. Grass needs one more to bring it back to equilibrium. And I just choose by which base form and evolutionary line I like best.
(For those curious, I chose Charmander, Chikorita, Torchic, Piplup, Oshawott, Fennekin, Popplio, and Grookey. Unless the evos drastically change things, I’m picking Sprigatito, and probably Fuecoco if I decide the game is worth a second run)
(PLA was also Oshawott)
To Bluefire:
If anything, that actually sets you as the best candidate for being featured–that you’re not jumping at the hypothetical chance, I mean. I do understand where you’re coming from, though. Being featured in any way is a pretty big thing, even if only those of us here will know (on the assumption that Aurora’s going to someday be published). That being said, I’m sure that Red would respect your wish not to be featured–and if she really wanted to give you a cameo, she’d ask first.
(And…I’m gonna be honest, I understand the self-loathing, too. I struggled with depression for a long time, and while I’m doing much better, it took years to get to where I am and I still have days where I backslide. I don’t really know if there’s anything I can say that would help, but please remember that we’re all here if you need to talk, and you do deserve the good things that happen in your life.)
I will repost this on tomorrow’s page in case someone doesn’t see it btw
Bluefire, glad that you found a more comfortable name and your comments are always appreciated and Im glad you found a comfortable place to begin commenting where it wasn’t as toxic *coughwebtoonscough* and you can enjoy yourself!!! This comic was also one of the first places I began commenting and I’m so glad to have found it! Also, oops I don’t know why I described your comments that way instead of putting that you do TL;DRs lol. Also, to your later comment, I sympathize and let me just tell you that your comments genuinely make me smile and you seem like a really good person! I struggle a lot with the same stuff and that (and an overload from a depressive downspiral, school, and general life struggles) is part of why I didn’t comment as much recently but I’m glad to be back in this awesome community! I’m really glad you will stay with us!
DragonMaster66 agreed!!! I think I joined in the summer of 2021 after watching a video by Red that mentioned their comic. I played around a little with a name like Blue Rose or something (I think, but I really don’t remember) and then ended up retrying as Hii and that name has spread to a lot of my platforms (Specifically Tapas, but a lot of other places) I forget why I stopped posting under my old username and moved to Hiii, but I quite enjoy this and as the first place where I ever used the username “Hiii” and obviously the amazing community and awesome comic it has a very special place in my heart. I DO think that this is Tahraim, not Caliban in disguise, but I could be proven wrong *shrugs*
Youngstormlord, yeah I didn’t write nearly all of the people who contribute to this comments section frequently, I AM SO SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE I MISSED YOU ARE STILL REALLY APPRECIATED!!!
Stark9865, agreed.
TheUnknownGame, I fully agree with your statement to LikeADragon, I think those are excellent points and I really appreciate your theories and thoughts. I agree with the whole Tarhaim is Tarhaim and Caliban is Caliban thing, I had forgotten about the theories that Falst was jolon or the collector was the arenamaster those were a bit odd, but in my opinion most comment sections have their quirks. For some it’s references from one particular show/movie/book/etc., for some it’s incessant shipping of everyone, for some it’s dirty jokes, for some it’s constantly saying that the author deserves more views/giving incessant praise, and for us, well I guess it’s in deep theories, random references and assuming one character is another disguised all the time *shrugs* I think that you definitely make this comment section a better place though, and you deserve the recognition!
Gogo the mimic that’s awesome!!! (Both the comments section the expanded universe thing lmao and the joy you have found from this comments section)
Aromar Dysypros, refer back to my comment with DragonMaster66
Hermit thrush, that’s so sweet, thank you!!! That makes me smile!
Skye, I know your words about your experience were meant for Bluefire, but it’s still really comforting to hear that others have gone through similar experiences and come out the other side stronger. It’s really nice to see your comments (I knew I was forgetting to mention someone in my thank you speech thing *facepalm* so sorry I forgot!)
I really needed this today, thank you so much for the amazing comments and the caring attitudes! I will be sure to look back at this if I ever need a reminder to keep going or an encouraging word. Thank y’all so much for always being so amazing and kind!
Everyone:
The people I’ve seen in the comments has varied a lot over the time I’ve been here. Nowadays the folks who interact with me the most are from the wave of “Red mentioned this on the channel” readers. Funny how you can just sit around and watch people go in and out. Kind of a thing I do in school hallways a bit. When nothing’s going on I just stand there and watch the ins and outs, ups and downs. Think about how I will probably never cross any of the random students who pass by again, or talk to them. Strange how we intersect for a brief moment. How the world is at once so big yet the horizon is always in sight.
Then the school bell thingy that’s really a buzzer will go off and I remember I’m supposed to be in AP biology. Oh well.
School is definitely partially to blame for my state of mind these days, as is my dad because he’s been going on a bit of a downward spiral himself. The rest is just long held self hate that’s been slowly building up and going down as the tides on a beach. Coming and going. Rising over time thanks to climate change. Ahhh.
Alolanvulpix:
Gen 1: Charmander. I like both reptiles(like Bluefire), and fire, but the others are pretty cool too.
Gen 2: Totodile. Again I like reptiles.
Gen 3: Mudkip. I think it’s the cutest and it might be my favorite of all the starters.
Gen 4: Piplup. It’s close between Piplup and Tirtwig, they’re both very cute.
Gen 5: Oshawatt. This is the only gen where don’t have a clear favorite.
Gen 6: Froakie. Greninja is one of my favorite pokemon ever and I don’t like the others much.
Gen 7: Litten. I much prefer Decidueye to Inciniroar though.
Gen 8: Sobble. It’s blue and reptilian so I like.
Legends: Cyndiquil. It’s one of my favorite starters ever and its final evolution is my favorite.
Gen 9: Fuecoco. Lizard, fire, good stuff.
One weird thing I’ve noticed is that the grass starter is never my favorite. It’s often a close second but it’s never number one.
Also, I don’t think anyone asked, but I’ve been here since about September or October, but I only started commenting recently. The comments are actually what made me realize asexuality was a thing, which led to me coming out in October.
Bluefire; that downward spiral likely won’t end well, I hope you get a chance to be a better father, one who won’t take their family down instead of growing up, taking ownership, doing the hard, honest work. I think this is why I present as I do, my affect, while I do have emotions, I think we all do, every single autistic child, maybe even the “vegetables” who cannot communicate. I don’t hate love; I worry about getting drawn into another downward spiral. I put forth the theory that spirals can be upward, that may take more energy, work but I hope that is a truth. Two upward spirals may be something special, I hope to live long enough to see
Bluefire, your story resonates so deeply with me, literally EVERYTHING you just said is pretty much the same for me… I find it hilarious how I relate more to comic characters and a random person on the internet than anyone Ive ever met irl.
Bluefire, your story resonates so deeply with me, literally EVERYTHING you just said is pretty much the same for me… I find it hilarious how I relate more to comic characters and a random person on the internet than anyone Ive ever met irl.
Aris, remind me why you’re here instead of making grand speeches to millions? Cos damn that was awesome!!!
I remember doing much the same in high school–watching the flow of students and musing on the future. Being on the fringe can be lonely, but I think it also offers a valuable perspective on the bigger picture–if you know how to look. There are a lot of hidden patterns in this world, and we can learn a lot from them.
I’m sorry to hear that school and your home life both are causing you stress right now; I hope things improve soon. The pandemic’s made everything tougher than it used to be, but I know if you dig deep down you can find the strength to get through it. And… Well, it’s not advice I’ve ever followed, probably out of stubbornness more than anything, but if you really needed to I’m sure you could find a counselor to talk to. I know mental health issues are still somewhat stigmatized (which probably also has something to do with why I loathe the idea of going to therapy, if I’m gonna be honest–being pegged as ‘different’ at a young age can definitely do damage to one’s self-image, among other things), but that shouldn’t stop you if you really do need someone to help you work through things.
Or at least, that’s what I keep getting told, and honestly I’d probably have done myself a favor if I’d actually listened. Like I said, I have issues with the idea…But that doesn’t mean you should rule it out.
Love how Tahraim’s respect for Tynan is so low, he simply ignores him to guide the Champion.
Actually, Tahraim seems to have more respect for Kendal than Tynan. Though that could be professional interest.
It does seem that there are levels of gods and that Tahraim’s level is quite lofty.
This is a wise choice in storytelling and pacing. The story needed a pause from the breakneck action, a kind of plateau. That means the trouble with Tynan is going to be … climactic. You don’t pause like this unless the action’s going to soar.
I have no words for this page. I just want to appreciate tarahim in the final panel.
I love him
HA
I know it’s just the hair but those glow eyes look so concerned
now that you are a teenager, your body may experience some changes, all normal in puberty: hair starts to grow in some places, your sweat smells more, you may develop dragon-fire breath…
Lol ever need to just scream into a pillow
awwe,,.. he gettin help
Look! His eyes are normal again! So coooooooool. Tahraim is being such a bro here lol. It seems like Dainix was probably expecting Caliban and not Tahraim to be there when he called for help.
Therapist Tahraim!
That’s some sick fire breathing!
Now he feels better 🙂
(Bonus Grinch Meme)
Tahraim: “Release all
of those sounds that are trapped in
your mind.” Dainix: “AHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
Tahraim: well, at least the fire curse gives a good sign as to whether the impromptu therapy is working
This page’s image source: rage
Also, can I just say I love Tahraim? Because I love Tahraim. He’s amazing.
This does seem more like Caliban than Tharaim for what we’ve seen of them, so my bet is on Caliban disguising as Tharaim for some unknown reason. Also, if I’m right then it’s one more argument for Caliban being Red’s self insert.
Also, was anyone else reading Caliban’s speech bubbles in Red’s voice?
I was hoping on all that fire being aimed at the storm-jerk dude…
Is it just me or does Tahrain seem a bit put off speaking so plainly about emotions with Dainix?
Sharp eye maybe?
I know I might be biased, what with Red’s career, but this page has a sort of mythic vibe to me. And I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s letting go of of pain one piece at a time. I like it! Well done!
Wait, Tahraim is Iroh? Damn it, how could it be that I haven’t seen that coming before?
Philosophical, old guy that helps young people, slightly mischievous, good with fire…
Man I wish I could breath out my fire and anger lol
When Tahraim first showed up he seemed like a typical cryptic mentor guy who is always mystical and serious. Turns out that’s not the case.
hmmm. last time Tahraim helped out someone who was missing an arm and an eye, Vash vanquished Tynan
Bless this man, can he be my therapist too?
I got sudden bladerunner “Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion” vibes from the opening line…!
Tahraim, expert therapist!!
Every chance that’s what Wednesday’s guild talk will hope to remedy.
omg danix sameeeee
TL;DR: It’s grade school wellness class all over again, those deep breathing exercises actually help here though….
Hi, it’s me (Somebody) using the username I kinda wanted to use from the beginning, I just was a bit shy and scared. Didn’t want to be confused with a certain member of the OSP crew. Thanks for the encouragement everyone, I feel a lot more comfortable now and commenter “someone” can use their name without me getting confused!
I need Tahraim in my life. #1 emotional support friend
Okay, that thumbs-up while on fire in the final panel is just too amazing.
Someone get me Taharim’s contact info, I need a therapist. Unless he’s niched down to fire elementals only.
“So Champion, how was your day?”
“The God of the Forge gave me therapy and walked me through both my fantastical powers at the same time.”
The last panel needs to be memed immediately. Five minutes ago if possible.
can we do that?
Poe not need AI aiming Gatling guns

omg I love him
You have an amazing username.
Tahraim is just pulling a Guru Pathik on him, but in a far more casual manner. “Yeah, that bad stuff? Breathe it out… Great! Now on to the guilt!”
@ImuyanMangoCat first panel? I love him in the *last* panel!
I do hope that Dainix won’t be jerked around by Caliban when this is over; he’s his own person, he should be able to do what he wants.
love it when people ate thoughtful
He not just the god of smithing- he is the god of improv therapy sessions, and we all need a friend who can do that.
Really though, he’s so calm after being actively set on fire.
@Sodose
I second that.
TheUnknownGame, I wonder if he will regain them or not… considering all the parallels, it seems increasingly likely that DAINIX will the be the one to vanquish Tynan.
that is a lot of fuckin’ layers in a toss off line.
Glowing eyes my beloved!

Tahraim giving Dainix some impromptu therapy
@Darth Fëanor ssibqnajb YES
@Voonha Good question…
Later on in the series:
“who are you praying to?”
“My therapist, why?”
.Tahraim is so fun. All the gods are – I mean, sans Zurith, but even he has character. My point is, all of them are GOOD characters in some way.
It’s all about proper emotion control baby.
dainix used flamethrower!
it wasn’t very effective . . .
To SarrissaTieflingDruid:
Id still put money down that he becomes a permanent member of the floof squad.
alt text: Tahraim manifests as an ash pile with two blinking cartoon eyes
SO many great details. Floof boy doesn’t get rained on, drops turn into steam before even touching him.
Therapeutic Screaming(tm)
Tahraim not noting soot or embers on his person whatsoever + Let’s Move Along within seconds
calling that next he should punch, and then we get interrupted by the mountain splitting apart.
no actually it looks more like a claw, so rip something apart?..
Now that spicy boy will become my hyperfocus only because of that development of his powers tued to his emotional, ffs i luv aurora
i think dainix may be like a charizard, though that sorta depends on whether or not you believe the theory that chaizards fire is fueled by methane.
by the way, has anyone else seen the pokemon trailer for the gen 9 games?
I absolutely love how the world is essentially ending around Dainix right now but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s going through his own personal mental health crisis, and even a literal god recognizes the importance of that
To LikeADragon:
@alolanvulpix: I saw the trailer! I’m excited to see what other new species and forms PokeSpain has. #SprigatitoSquad
Alolanvulpix, Skye, Stark9865:
I think I’ll choose the fire croc, I have a history of favoring reptilian starter Pokemon (and if there are no straight up reptiles, anything that’s not a mammal). It’s a trend I didn’t notice until recently.
Hiii:
Does what I do count as a page breakdown?
Well I know that the comments are wholesome but damn is it wholesome today!!! Ty @Hiii for the nice words, I’m extremely flattered!
And Ty @LikeaDragon for sending me appreciation.
I honestly didn’t think I was like one of the comments cornerstone people(eg. Hello Haiku, Evil Tree, The unknown game etc.), and I haven’t really been here as long as you think. I estimate I’ve been here since the scene on the mountain with Alinua and Falst, so I’ve been here for atleast 2 chapters.
I love this small comment society.
I’ve been reading this comic for a little while now, but never commented so i may or may not comment more in the future. Just wanted to point out that in the panel Dainix breathes a bunch of fire the crack on his chest kinda flares up a bit and in the next panel that spot is glowy.
This is a reference to that one “Release all the sounds that are trapped in your mind” vine, isn’t it?
“or you’ll end up brittle”
I’m sorry. Are you FORGING him? Are you gonna hold him up to a magnet before you dip him into a cylinder of oil? Is Doug gonna swing him through a fish before pronouncing that he will cut?
Because I am 10,000% here for that.
tahraim’s last line made me laugh so hard
“let’s move on to the guilt!”
tahraim’s last line made me laugh so hard
“let’s move on to the guilt!”
That last panel cracks me up!
I love this guy
…are we sure this is Tahraim? Because other than the “brittle” motif, this way of speaking reminds a lot more of Caliban’s irreverent banter than Tahraim’s previously established tendency towards being cryptic and giving people the runaround. And we do know Caliban shapeshifts and is around.
@Hiii: Wow. That’s a lot to take in. I felt so comfortable that I didn’t really notice the community.
@Boris23.
Hey! Forged in Fire reference!!!
@Drake
On fire? well just call up your local god for some therapy! works every time (they answer)!
(anyone who was talking about Pokemon; Sprigatito. kitty)
@Hiii it’s the Comment Section Expanded Universe™
Aromar Dyspros:
Okay, now it seems like everything discussed at https://comicaurora.com/aurora/1-12-10/ makes more sense.
To Hermit Thrush and Aromar Dyspros:
Some impromptu therapy ought to do it
I will repost this on tomorrow’s page in case someone doesn’t see it btw
Also, I got here from the OSP plug
Bluefire; that downward spiral likely won’t end well, I hope you get a chance to be a better father, one who won’t take their family down instead of growing up, taking ownership, doing the hard, honest work. I think this is why I present as I do, my affect, while I do have emotions, I think we all do, every single autistic child, maybe even the “vegetables” who cannot communicate. I don’t hate love; I worry about getting drawn into another downward spiral. I put forth the theory that spirals can be upward, that may take more energy, work but I hope that is a truth. Two upward spirals may be something special, I hope to live long enough to see
It’s too late for the “I admit nothing” gambit?
Yeah, worth it, hate feeling vulnerable…no I do not require an “uber” thank you.
regards,
Ari
Bluefire, your story resonates so deeply with me, literally EVERYTHING you just said is pretty much the same for me… I find it hilarious how I relate more to comic characters and a random person on the internet than anyone Ive ever met irl.
Bluefire, your story resonates so deeply with me, literally EVERYTHING you just said is pretty much the same for me… I find it hilarious how I relate more to comic characters and a random person on the internet than anyone Ive ever met irl.
Aris, remind me why you’re here instead of making grand speeches to millions? Cos damn that was awesome!!!
To Bluefire:
The wholesomeness is strong today
Tahraim giving some Iroh levels of advice here
Love how Tahraim’s respect for Tynan is so low, he simply ignores him to guide the Champion.
I also got here after Red mentioned it on the channel, I think, but I don’t remember exactly.
Forge man is new best dad. Actually I think he might be the only dad we’ve seen on screen to date. Still best dad.
