Oh, booyah! Time for some major destruction. What I’ve wanted more than anything else: that prison leveled. (Oh. Of course, not everyone’s in there for parking tickets, but this is Zuurith, so mostly.)
This leaves opportunity for June to join in, she could either join in the Tynan vs. Kendal fight or help Ali free the prisoners!
I just want more of June, the way she interacts with Erin has made her one of my favorites.
BRING IN MORE JUNE CONTENT!
And slightly off topic: I laugh at Falst a lot despite having a thing for him, idk why. I laughed at alinua tugging his tail, I laughed at Tess giving him a piggyback ride, I laughed at the page where he looked tired as hell.
Like as in laughed out loud
And I don’t think it’s a me thing I think it’s a falst thing because I don’t laugh at Kiba, infact I get infuriated whenever kiba’s laughed at.
What I’m trying to say is, The tail tug is really funny to me for some weird reason.
So turns out they did post last page, it was just at the very bottom.
Thank you @Hello Haiku for taking the time to write a Haiku and post it, even though it was at the bottom of the page and it was unlikely anyone would see
Operation Jailbreak, after many delays, is a go!
Does Alinua’s magic seem more detailed and stylised this page? Not that I’m complaining; the vines of energy sprouting from her birthmark and coiling up her arm looks amazing. Art evolution on Red’s part, and/or a sign she’s getting even better with her magic?
Despite Kendal’s current circumstance, this is a logical move. Alinua and Falst would be limited in how they could help; neither can fight a storm effectively. However Ali’s powers and Falst’s common sense combined can help mitigate the effects of the storm, and help cool down the fear Tynan is leeching off.
Well with Shrike escorted home, Zuurith’s incarnation destroyed and the prison guards not wanting to drown too, fingers crossed they should encounter too much resistance from the law. But in a city like this, you can never tell.
Oh boy oh man oh boy oh man!!!
I binge read this comic over the span of two days, and I’m excited to see where this goes. Crack that mountain open, Alinua, I believe in you! I love the green lighting in that last panel. Pulling Falst’s tail was a smidge mean, I think, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
@Evil Tree: Yeah, you’re right. The only other time she got the Life pattern over her was when she fought the sentry, at least I think. Maybe it’s to do with how much power she’s using?
@EvilTree
I think it’s probably because of how much magic she’s using.
I never really noticed before, but I like how Alinua keeps like a pouch of seeds on her at all times, because of course she would.
I just realized that at, like, the very beginning, she tried to brute force some stone to try to get into the Singing Caves. Now she’s trying to crack open an entire mountain.
…
…Alinua. You are a healer. Do you know how much spinal damage you could’ve done there!?
(But also good on you for taking an opportune moment to cause some benevolent chaos)
Going back to the prison makes me wonder what Caliban is up to. My guess is either they’ve disincarnated and are watching Dainix, or they’re going to slip back into their guard disguise to assist in the evacuation, perhaps even convincing the more stubborn, belligerent, and idiotic guards bristling at the vine-covered opening that an evacuation is the best course of action (or just proceeding despite their protests).
I appreciate how this whole arc, the party could’ve just completely wreck Zuurith, but they were trying really hard to act “civilized”; now through it’s time to throw down, and Zuurith is in for a pretty harsh series of humbling experiences.
I guess it’s time for Chekhov’s Mountain to crack open.
Regarding those that said the prison isn’t in danger of flooding: IT’S A SERIES OF BOWLS. The windows on the mountain are open holes with nothing to keep the water from flowing inside as it rushes down the mountain in a torrent. Those windows will become waterfalls on the inside that will push everyone deeper into the mountain as the downpour becomes more intense. The interior of the mountain has much less space than the open air of the city, I wouldn’t be surprised if the prison fills to the peak before the water level in the city reaches the top of the arena. While we can assume that there must be some prisoners who deserve to be locked up, the vast majority of inmates are probably no worse than someone drawn to petty thievery due to desperate circumstances. None of them deserve to die like this.
Not to mention, the absolute terror those trapped in the mountain would experience as the water levels rise around them with no way out would probably give Tynan a notable boost. Freeing them could reduce the stress-level of the entire city by a noteworthy margin, which would weaken Tynan somewhat, possibly making it a little easier to defeat him.
Alinua is absolutely making the right call here. Zuurith had better stay out of her way if he wants his city to have any chance of survival.
Totally forgot it was Monday so I’m super late lol
I’m excited- I wanna see that mountain SPLIT OPEN! GO GET ‘EM ALLY! But jeez Alinua, I’m pretty sure pulling a cat’s tail is assault. That’s the way they react to it anyway.
@Camilo_sama is that an encanto username? Is encanto finally seeping into this (mostly) quaint little comment section?
@Blarmy Blar Blar well I recall seeing someone else call her that, and then I started calling her June. But ever since I started calling her June, but since I saw that one comment call her June I haven’t seen another one call her that. Until veggiesnake, Skye, Hello Haiku noticed me doing it and joined in calling her June.
For some reason, I’m thinking of that line from Phineas and Ferb.
“I love my friends, I just say things like ‘We’re cracking that mountain open’ and they’re just like ‘Ok.'”
I second this. Especially since once the city’s water level rose enough the lower levels would naturally flood as windows dipped below the waterline–granted, we don’t know where those lower windows begin, but… Well, something very similar was done in Mossflower, though over a far longer time period (and I believe the local geography was a little different…Though there may still be some parallels…?)
And as the water rose, the prisoners would retreat to higher floors, until there was nowhere to run… I had a close call when I was little and it was probably the scariest moment of my life, and the idea of not only drowning but doing so trapped in a crush of equally terrified people after futilely running from the creeping tide is probably the worst way I can think of to die–and like you said, that mortal terror would give Tynan a tremendous load of power to draw from and use to inflict more pain on Kendal and Zuurith-the-city both (and through that further boosting his power).
I would like to take a moment to appreciate red. I am making a comic for a school contest and am using aurora as a reference for where I should place speech bubbles and how I should compose panels. Thank you red, if I win the cash prize I owe it to you
Yeah the alt text has a severe understatement, I think this could go down in history as one of the most generous uses of the phrase “we’re” in the history of all worlds.
You know what? @Skye and @ImuyanMangoCat have literally been with Aurora since like, page one, chapter one? I feel like these people deserve some recognition! It takes a lot of time and effort to keep invested with ANYTHING in this fast paced world, especially in the internet. It would be nice for them to have a little like, mention or something in the comic. Or maybe characters named after them or something. I dunno. What do you think, comments section?
ohhh man I picked a good day to stay up and wait for the page LOOK AT ALINUA she is about to do some serious destruction and I love that for her
Can’t wait for Wednesday. This is going to be epic.
Pulling on his tail?!
Well then, that’s not very nice.
Now, prison break time!
*OUCH for Falst
But also Alinua is awesome in this page.
Oooooh!!! But that’s not very good for Kendal…
I really love the lighting from the magic in the last panel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MaCJZIBKGs
Also, don’t grab the catboi at the tail
We don’t break out of prison people……. We break the prison
OOH THATS INTERESTING
Ouch that must have hurt. Last panel looks DOPE 😀
hahahahahah the tail grab
Oh, booyah! Time for some major destruction. What I’ve wanted more than anything else: that prison leveled. (Oh. Of course, not everyone’s in there for parking tickets, but this is Zuurith, so mostly.)
Well, you know what they say in Arkham: You can’t make an omelet without cracking a prison like an egg!
GIRLBOSS HOURS
wdy to taken action to save lives Aliuna! I’ld call you an agent of life saving Power!
Oh no that borb is still going- I feel like it’s gonna bop Kendal and distract him mid-fight.
poor falst xD that’s gotta hurt
I still can’t get over that last panel. Alinua looks badass.
this
is gonna be awesome
You can not save a totalitarian half-underground city without breaking a few mountains.
This leaves opportunity for June to join in, she could either join in the Tynan vs. Kendal fight or help Ali free the prisoners!

And does anybody remember Hello Haiku posting last page? After I post this I’ll double check
So turns out they did post last page, it was just at the very bottom.
Thank you @Hello Haiku for taking the time to write a Haiku and post it, even though it was at the bottom of the page and it was unlikely anyone would see
Something else is cracking, well I hope she’s not yolking about this
why did I read the caption bill wurtz’s “bye-bye ocean” voice
ALINUA! ALINUA! ALINUA!
About time!

IF they’re underground but in the mountain, wouldn’t that make them still above the flooding level?
TL;DR: Don’t pull a cat’s tail!
Also yes go for it plant lady I miss seeing all the green.
Falst: we need to help Kendal
Alinua: sure but how about some ecological erosion instead?
Oh boy oh man oh boy oh man!!!
I binge read this comic over the span of two days, and I’m excited to see where this goes. Crack that mountain open, Alinua, I believe in you! I love the green lighting in that last panel. Pulling Falst’s tail was a smidge mean, I think, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

@Evil Tree: Yeah, you’re right. The only other time she got the Life pattern over her was when she fought the sentry, at least I think. Maybe it’s to do with how much power she’s using?
I have to wonder how she’d compare to the gods if she went all out
There are BETTER WAYS of getting someone’s attention than yanking their SPINE!
I love how shamelessly High Fantasy this story is. “We’re cracking the mountain open” is such an awesome line, especially knowing she CAN do it.
*chanting*
PRISON BREAK!
PRISON BREAK!
PRISON BREAK!
@EvilTree
I think it’s probably because of how much magic she’s using.
I never really noticed before, but I like how Alinua keeps like a pouch of seeds on her at all times, because of course she would.
Also, did you have to pull on his tail?
I just realized that at, like, the very beginning, she tried to brute force some stone to try to get into the Singing Caves. Now she’s trying to crack open an entire mountain.
*YOINK*
I dont even have a tail, and I felt that lol.
I not sure how well this will go…
Tynan out-floofs the WHOLE FLOOF TEAM!
…
…Alinua. You are a healer. Do you know how much spinal damage you could’ve done there!?

I like how she looks like she’s been waiting to do this her whole life
Frog’s Theme starts playing.
*Alinua raises Masamune up high*
Falst’s tail! Oh my cute little cat boy is angee. Pull it again
SHE’S BEEN HOLDING BACK THIS ENTIRE VISIT
alt text: “we” is being pretty generous there
EXCUSE YOU!
This is why Falst is best boi
I’m simping hard for alinua in the last panel omg
@SarrissaTeiflingDruid
but this time she has life mum on her side
If Alinua was the one fighting Tynan this chapter would probably already be over
Giving me big “We’re gonna hack the planet” vibes from She-Ra lol
@ImuyanMangoCat Is June the name we’ve picked for the Junior Archivist?
Wait a minute how is the mountain prison what’s in danger of flooding?! It’s in a MOUNTAIN, you’d think that would BE the higher ground.
Prediction: there is going to be someone in the mountain prison that reeeeeeaaaalllllllly deserved to be there.
I appreciate how this whole arc, the party could’ve just completely wreck Zuurith, but they were trying really hard to act “civilized”; now through it’s time to throw down, and Zuurith is in for a pretty harsh series of humbling experiences.
Awesomeee <3

This page’s image source: wait
Best moment for Alinua to declare, “I’m a healer, but…”
Really looking forward to how this chapter progresses, it is going to be a very busy time.
@Camilo_sama is that an encanto username? Is encanto finally seeping into this (mostly) quaint little comment section?

Falst has the very important role of moral support (and tanking if someone tries to interrupt the crazy witch attacking the prison).
*but since then
For some reason, I’m thinking of that line from Phineas and Ferb.
“I love my friends, I just say things like ‘We’re cracking that mountain open’ and they’re just like ‘Ok.'”
To Steve, Lord of Darkness:

Alinua I love you but don’t pull peoples’ tails!!
Yeah the alt text has a severe understatement, I think this could go down in history as one of the most generous uses of the phrase “we’re” in the history of all worlds.
Yessss Alinua being op again I can’t wait I love her so much <3

NOW LETS DESTROY SOMETHING
