Calling it now, when Kendal decides it’s time to leave the prison he’s going to break those chains through sheer strength leaving the guards shocked. Dainix too but less so.
Impressive that he managed to deduce Kendal’s non-human nature through context and logical reasoning. Contrast with Falst who had enhanced senses and Gleicann calling Kendal ‘godling’ to help figure it out. I still expect the “Kendal makes Character X confused” routine to happen sometime though.
This is the first new comic for me since I caught up with the archive, woo!
Dainix is rapidly catapulting to be a favourite character, love this polite and perceptive warrior god
“Listen man, you’re in the toughest prison in the world. There won’t be any escape unless Zurich lets you. You better be prepared for the arena fights”
“Ah jeez, sorry for intruding, man”
I feel like Dainix and Kendal will be very good friends. They’re already being open with each other, and though they’re discussing, as Dainix put it, a touchy subject, Dainix is being very polite about it and they’re both quite calm despite the circumstances.
…I just hope Falst kicking down the mountain’s gates while pursued by an angrily exasperated Alinua doesn’t ruin it.
Dainix immediately asks a bunch of very good questions right off the bat. 1. I like them 2. Dainix and Kendal are defo going to be friends. 3. Prison break and Tynan hanging around is going to kick things into high gear soon.
Game show host: Alright Zuurith! You can only imprison one! to win, you must imprison the most troublesome character, and the title of most responsible city deity is yours!
Zuurith: *eyes the all-powerful healer, the chaotic good cat, the walking atom bomb, and the paragon of virtue*

We’ve heard quite a bit about Dainix, but we don’t know how much THEY know about this whole deal… I suppose that’ll get answered soon…

Also, to the people talking about trees- I’d be a bristlecone because millennia later (if stupid people don’t get involved) I’d still be a gnarly freak. Though honestly I prefer my smaller plants to trees. If this was extended to any plant though, I’d probably start throwing out botanical names because I have very niche interests.

Considering how easy it is to match stick figure to their comic counterpart… Well.
