You know it’s utterly hilarious how little Falst cares. He’s right next to the avatars of two primordial deities, one of whom is basically satan the devil, and one of them is suggesting he walk directly towards people who kill magic creatures that probably have magic signatures similar to his. Falst is not concerned by this, apparently.
Mhm, yes and everything is going to go to plan, completely 100%, without a hitch.
After all, it is a fairly simple thing to do, especially with all of his privilege 🙂
How much do you want to bet he will trip an alarm of some sort? Also, the others are guaranteed to get in trouble without Erin to leverage his privilege to bail them out. There is no way this won’t go wrong.
So much for “Unspoken Plan Guarantee”, Erin! Seriously, my man, are you even trying?! Next thing you know, you’ll be asking “What’s the worst thing that could happen?” , the way you are headed.
While the boys discuss plans of remaining not-arresting Alinua chills in the big chair.
I’m sure Erin will do his best to keep his tattoo a secret but whether V.D. will is another matter. If the dragon feels that his ticket out of his prison is in danger he might act in ways Erin can’t predict.
I wonder how much Erin’s quasi-emissary nature and Zuurith’s laws on diplomatic immunity protects him. It may be that the Paladins can’t go after him while they’re still in the city lest they upset Zuurith.
So this low profile they’re keeping … I give it three pages, five tops. More a question of who breaks the gang’s low profile and who do they attract the attention of, Zuurith or the Paladins.
If the Paladins realised that Erin were the host of V.D, and I can’t imagine that they won’t be able to, I don’t think any diplomatic immunity would keep them from executing or otherwise dealing with Erin.
Frankly, I suspect that Kendal will be the giveaway in this ‘low profile’. Not Kendal the person, but Kendal the blade. Back in Windcrest, it was recognised immediately, and Zuurith likely has a watchful eye on his populace at the best of times, so walking around with the weapon and symbol of a rival city god on his back isn’t going to get this floofy boi very far.
Erin, the academic of the group, doesn’t know that it takes at least three, preferably more, identical outcomes to prove a hypothesis correct. Once isn’t enough, Erin, you need reproducible evidence.
Interestingly, the “handful of anomalies” Erin is referring to are detailed in the Extra Lore: ‘The Seventh Element’ pages:
The nature of cave-corruption, or as we might more accurately say, Void Corruption. This seventh form of elemental corruption results from exposure to energies within the Singing Caves, where Voidragon’s power is greatest, as well as in regions of extreme famine and poverty. The resulting corruption is identifiable by the uncontrollable compulsion to consume, whether that be conventional food, or blood and bone marrow.
Additionally, even Elemental Homunculi conjured by an Elemental Magus, and thusly consisting of the Six Primordial Elements, cannot consume oxygen for respiration or food for sustenance. They don’t feel the urge eat, and even if they do, they can’t assimilate the new matter.
However, and these are my thoughts, Elemental Homunculi also can’t reproduce, and I doubt they have any sense of autonomy. I wonder if the ‘Light Dragon’ is not only the ‘Soul Primordial’ which provides beings with independent thought and desire, but also involved in the conceptual ability of reproduction? The ability to propagate new souls, as it were?
Irrelevant to the page, but I think Falst is the kid of either some kind of Ferin nobility (if that exists) or eccentric, open-minded human aristocrats, and he’s rebelling/incognito for angsty backstory reasons. Also Metal Lady is looking for Erin because they’re buds. These are my dumb takes. Feel free to disagree.
For NO PARTICULAR REASON I would like to direct everyone’s attention to page 1.7.33.
Erin is (probably) still shielded from sight, and the White Dragon Paladins are unlikely to be looking for the vessel of their nemesis in the people that walk right up to their archives.
Hope…full…y?
I don’t suppose the Void Dragon has any potential allies (read as “future useful minions”) currently on ice in Zuurith’s mountain prison, now, would he? Certainly, he wouldn’t cause Erin to get caught and thrown in jail just to make contact with said future minions, would he? There’s no possible way this could fit nicely with his plans to free himself. Nope, none at all?
Btw, did I fail to mention that I have some gorgeous, lake-front property for sale in Arizona? Oh, silly me, I’m so forgetful these days.
He’s angry that a group of people with a common fundamental belief created a god from that faith but meanwhile all the gods we’ve seen have been tied to specific cities (which implies the civilization came first and the god become deity of that land) and nature spirits which….also have appearances based on how people view it. And also that one cloud straight up scared cities enough to become a god! How is this different?
I’m guessing the difference is that the paladin god is CLAIMED to be something else, while a god like Vash would be quite open about his origins. I feel like Erin’s objection is more about a concensus replica of the Creation Dragon getting in the way of finding out the truth which started the story.
Looks like Erin is forgetting a couple of important things: it’s a cult. They have distinctive magic from their god for fighting your passenger, even if their god might be a replica of the original.
Thinking they can’t sense the greatest concentration of Void in living memory when he demands access to their CULT SECRETS seems… optimistic.
It is Erinman! His superpower: Extreme privilege.
As always, Falst is the wise one in the group.
Hehe, good luck floof gang… I give you five minutes 😛
That’s incredibly optimistic
unsurprisingly, Falst is very nonchalant about Erin’s situation. LOL
You know it’s utterly hilarious how little Falst cares. Cue in the violins and the black title card reading “The Gang Fails to Keep a Low Profile”
Cut to the chase scene with them and Erin on the run from a battalion of paladins
And/or Zuurith’s police force.
The Benny Hill running music playing in the background.
I’m imagining a scooby doo hallway scene, and it’s amazing ?
Mhm, yes and everything is going to go to plan, completely 100%, without a hitch.

This is gunna go badly.
How much do you want to bet he will trip an alarm of some sort? Also, the others are guaranteed to get in trouble without Erin to leverage his privilege to bail them out. There is no way this won’t go wrong.
Alinua: So wait, you think they might be right?
Erin: Most likely, but I have prior biases I need to stick with.
. . . while pretending those prior biases are actually scientific discipline at its finest
Well they could be partial right about the 1 deity they have been keeping track of while being completely wrong about everything else.
Give him a break. He’ll believe it when he sees it.
“Low Profile” Eh? Like that’s gonna happen
Now I wonder who they will piss off first, the radical aturtrian god or the dragon worshiping cultists.
Why not both?
“Both?”
“Both?”
“Both.”
“Both is good.”
This city is so full of things that can end up capturing the gang that we can resume this arc as the Garfield seen a no Garfields poster and saying “Wonder who that’s for” ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MemeTemplatesOfficial/comments/avcvhe/template_for_the_garfield_meme/ )

Kendel “Famous Last Words” Lastname strikes again!
There’s gonna be smack-talking with the White Dragon and the Black Dragon on Friday
Falst has the only braincell of the group
TL;DR: Mr. Hubris used privelege!
It has “disastrous consequences” written all over it.
“If it works once, it must always work”
Erin, the academic of the group, doesn’t know that it takes at least three, preferably more, identical outcomes to prove a hypothesis correct. Once isn’t enough, Erin, you need reproducible evidence.
He’s gone for years with this level of privilege. After chanting ‘untouchable’ back at himself long enough, he doubtlessly believes it.
Ah yes, the self told, self believed lie.
PRIVILEGE IS NOT PERMANENT. ANYONE CAN TAKE IT AWAY BY JUST DECIDING YOU DON’T HAVE IT ANYMORE.
honestly I wish that this is how an antagonist falls or hubristic character loses power. Just pushing those around them that step too far.
take a low profile – as if that will work
“Keep a low profile” said the seven-foot-tall godling with the socially awkward Ferin and the chimeric-plagued cloud nymph.
Well this is definitely going to go perfectly smoothly XD
Falst is saying what I’ve been thinking…
Can’t wait for Kaiba to crash through the roof of the cult and smite Erin to death
I had a suspicion that the paladin was going to be an antagonist.
Man, for the supposed ‘Smart Guy’ Erin does seem to be wrong about basically everything.
He may be booksmart, but he’s not streetsmart… or wise. Or emotionally intelligent, most of the time (except for that one time he consoled Alinua).
Well, of course he isn’t streetsmart. He was likely living in a bubble up until he decided it was a good idea to waltz into a giant storm.

You were right about the metal lady. Falst has ye to be fully seen though.
Thank you Falst! That’s what I said!
yeah, subtlety isn’t exactly their forte
Erin, Falst, Kendal; one smart, one short, one tall
These wonderful floofs, so different in looks
Were nonetheless equally fools.

Erin Flast Kendal

Wonderful floofs
Different in looks

Nice. Make some more poems!
Oh, no, this isn’t mine. It’s Roald Dahl. I can’t get the song from Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox out of my head.
For NO PARTICULAR REASON I would like to direct everyone’s attention to page 1.7.33.

Alt text: sounds nice and simple!
“The rest of us will keep a low profile… is that thunder I hear in the distance?”
Falst is the one brain cell
He’s angry that a group of people with a common fundamental belief created a god from that faith but meanwhile all the gods we’ve seen have been tied to specific cities (which implies the civilization came first and the god become deity of that land) and nature spirits which….also have appearances based on how people view it. why do I feel like the dark dragon isn’t going to just sit back and let them get that info
20$ says that his “keep a low profile” plan falls apart in like 5 minutes
Looks like Erin is forgetting a couple of important things: it’s a cult. They have distinctive magic from their god for fighting your passenger, even if their god might be a replica of the original.
