Although the sensience of the animals is more important in the judgement of Jolon. It is also notable that he excused it by saying that they weren’t the point. So basically he twisted creatures beyond repair, because he didn’t want to do his own dirty work and thought it as a justifiable action to get to his actual goal.
I also love that they appear to be indiscreetly hiding behind Kendal.
Apparently, the presence of two gods along with the mad scientist was enough to activate Little Brother Mode in both of them.
Patroclus77 has a point, but you might still be right if he’s changing because the scary problem is solved, his own taking a stand towards making himself/the forest a more gentle person/place, or even just based on the protags’ perception.
If any reasons for him transforming do apply, I’ll miss thirst trap Gleicann, but I’ll be happy for him to get to be a more carefree, cheerful musician, and presumably a twink. If we’re lucky, one we’ll want obliterated.
Jolon, buddy. You’re not helping your case by calling them animals with a forest god and a Life primordial discussing how to best punish you. You’re basically asking to be punished some MORE with what you said.
Perhaps Gleicann is referring to her friend-group as the more important things that might require her attention? One is possibly the most powerful mage in the world and is currently possessed by a dangerous primordial being. Another is the body of a god missing the god that had been previously inhabiting it because said god was kidnapped. I would assume those situations might warrant some attention.
Life Mum and Tree Bro discuss how best to kick Bad Touch Mage’s tiny heine. They are so far politely discussing the “where” portion of this aforementioned butt-kicking. When and how remains to be seen, much to Bad Touch Mage’s chagrin.
I very much agree with Erin’s question on this page. Who exactly is talking right now. Obviously its the life primordial, but I wonder where exactly Life ends and Alinua begins. It all seems a little too personable to me. Then again the gods so far have been shown to be more people than ancient immortal creatures, with even Void Dragon cracking jokes.
Why are Erin and Falst surprised? It’s just two nature gods deciding on who gets dibs on divine punishment, no big deal.
The trio’s poses in the last panel say a lot. Falst seems to have positioned himself to start running, which is understandable. Erin is half-positioned to do so, probably interested as to what’s happened yet still prepared to book it. And Kendal isn’t going anywhere and is more concerned for Alinua than anything.
I wonder what kind of punishment Gleicann has in mind; I doubt he’ll want to relinquish Jolon to the mortal authorities. Though I could see Erin, as a pseudo-emissary to Asera and part of the academy that trained Jolon, try to reason that with his standing, the evidence available and the academy’s desire to make amends he would be found guilty of his crimes and severely punished. Though that also assumes Gleicann recognises Asera’s authority.
I’m glad Life is polite and respects Gleicann authority, as long as Jolon doesn’t do anything stupid(er) this should be resolved nicely.
I like to think Erin is making many of the questions we are in the comments in his head.
Erin (thinking): How is Life alive? Is chimeric plague Life’s way of choosing a vessel? Are the other primordials alive too? If so why haven’t we seen similar runic birthmark phenomenons of the other elemental magics? If Alinua keeps getting stronger could she-
V.D.: Oh, would you SHUT UP!
Maaaaaan i want the party to do something fun they’ve gone through a lot of stressful stuff recently I hope they get to have some fun and splash in a pond somewhere
This has been a very rough day for all involved. Let’s go down the list:
Kendal: Has been injured SEVERAL times (including nearly getting his bones atomized by that bigass bear), and has had a mini existential crisis.
Alinua: Has been severely enraged nearly the whole time she’s been awake, got slightly injured by Falst, and got what would have been a lethal injury at the claws of Galdr.
Erin: Temporarily lost one of his most treasured possessions, got temporarily blinded by the thief, and nearly got possessed a THIRD time. (Plus, he seems scared out of his mind right now.)
Falst: Got vilified by Erin and Alinua by a false narrative Jolon told them, got subsequently injured by Alinua and Kendal, and has had to grapple with introspection by realizing what his heart’s desire is. (And he also seems pretty scared, or at least surprised.)
Considering the karmic punishments handed out by various gods in real world myths to mortals who had offended them, does anyone else feel like Gleicann’s “you may have other priorities that require your attention” implies that the punishment he has in mind for Jolon is a bit more… lingering… than “just kill him”?
I think he does, V.D. mentioned back in 1.7.24 about “Life’s vessel” and Erin, with what he knows about Alinua, would have put two and two together a while ago. I think he’s questioning whether it’s Alinua talking right now or Life. Maybe also wondering just how are they talking; Alinua doesn’t have her mouth open and it’s in primordial lettering and not speech boxes.
It is a stretch. Quite a long one in fact; I’m not certain Gleicann even knows for sure who he’s speaking to. He might have a guess based on what she’s said, but aside from the creation myth, the primordials seem rather unknown among the planet’s populace. Plus, I doubt he knows of Erin’s shenanigans.
i’m pretty sure Gleicann knows who he’s talking to, given everything he’s been saying here, though i’m not as sure he’d have a reason to know about the Void Dragon currently hanging out in Erin.
There is some poor person who saw this on an night walk and thought “Yep, I’m drunk. There is no way I’m seeing The Doctor with a god, a Primordial, a ferin, an empty vessel, and the elemental magus.” And just noped the heck out of there.
Gleicann: Ma’am whilst I don’t deny your right to be here I do believe the company CEO, has some more pressing matters than taking out the trash in an office worker’s cubicle
Erin: So, if Life is alive. . .
Vidi: Shut uuuup
Erin: Then The Void Dragon-
Vidi: SHUUUUUT UUUUUUP!!
Erin: Failed to kill her
Vidi: ALRIGHT, THAT’S IT!!! NO MORE THINKY TIME FOR YOU!!!!!!!!
FRICK YOU JOLON, they are not “just” animals! they are sentient beings like us! they CAN get hurt!
I think that we can all agree, that Jolon has just proved himself as an iredeemable asshole
TRULY A VICTORY FOR THE FORCES OF JUSTICE
FACTS
Although the sensience of the animals is more important in the judgement of Jolon. It is also notable that he excused it by saying that they weren’t the point. I love both Erin’s and Falst’s faces xD
Erin’s face in panel one is the face one makes when they realise oh nooooooo, I did not do my homework
I also love that they appear to be indiscreetly hiding behind Kendal.
Apparently, the presence of two gods along with the mad scientist was enough to activate Little Brother Mode in both of them.
Is Gleicann becoming cute incarnation again?
Guess bye bye DILF Gleicann
If his incarnation is shaped my the people’s perception of the forest, I can’t imagine he would change this quickly.
Patroclus77 has a point, but you might still be right if he’s changing because the scary problem is solved, his own taking a stand towards making himself/the forest a more gentle person/place, or even just based on the protags’ perception.

Gleicann: I sentence you to ten years in prison.
Jolon: Well, your honor, maybe, I can change your mind.
Gleicann: Twenty years.
Also I don’t really get the alt-text this time…
I think it’s referring to Panel 4.
YEAH! I HOPE LIFE AND GLEICANN KICK JOLON’S ASS!
“He has used me to harm much I hold dear”
Obviously that means life in general but could it also mean Ali? Also Erin’s face is THE BEST
Erin “Wild Takes” Ruunaser strikes again.
I like Life. She’s cool. Terrifying, but cool.
Reminds me of teachers when someone doesn’t do their homework
An apology? That was unexpected. At least Life Mum is being the bigger person about all this (much, much bigger).
Life Mum and Tree Bro discuss how best to kick Bad Touch Mage’s tiny heine. They are so far politely discussing the “where” portion of this aforementioned butt-kicking. When and how remains to be seen, much to Bad Touch Mage’s chagrin.
I don’t like how alinua looks… so fragile q.q.
Nah, she’s just sharing Life’s anger
Just rip him in half and you can BOTH squish him.
points for efficency
brownie points for sharing

Erin: … I was not ready for today.
Falst: I don’t think any of us were.
As far as Erin’s aware, Life should be dead- that’s why he’s so confused, I think.
I have a feeling a wild forest spirit doesn’t really care for political emissaries, unless he knows the city-god like he did Vash.
Hey guys, I just realised we have good news, Alinua still has two functioning eyeballs. That’s a relief
yay!
Maaaaaan i want the party to do something fun they’ve gone through a lot of stressful stuff recently I hope they get to have some fun and splash in a pond somewhere

So Erin doesn’t know about Alinua’s connection to life?
I think he does, V.D. mentioned back in 1.7.24 about “Life’s vessel” and Erin, with what he knows about Alinua, would have put two and two together a while ago. I think he’s questioning whether it’s Alinua talking right now or Life. It may only be my perspective, but I see some excellent blue and orange morality on display here.
In the time they took discussing who should kick his ass they could’ve kicked his ass to the moon and back.
It’s not like he’s going anywhere. He’s been captured by not one but two powerful nature gods in the middle of a forest.
I just hope Gleicann does not mean Life should turn her attention to Void Dragon´s avatar. Or maybe it’s a stretch that he would know about that.
It is a stretch. Quite a long one in fact; I’m not certain Gleicann even knows for sure who he’s speaking to. he might be referring to the collector
I love this “deities politely discussing who gets to punish the evildoer” sequence
“Pardon me ma’am, I believe this isn’t your jurisdiction.”
“I rather think it’s ALL my jurisdiction”
Erin’s face in panel one… priceless
“They’re just animals!” That is quite possibly the dumbest possible thing you could have said in this situation, Jolon.
Um … where’d the lacrima go?
Probably in Jolon’s “Horse’s” Mouth
Ma’am your face is unconscious and it’s kinda weirding me out.
I wish, so badly, that I could upvote you.
That’s one way of looking at it.
Erin suddenly has an idea on why they were less than terrified of his possessed self.
Learn when to shut up Jolon!
The fact that both Erin and Falst are kind of hiding behind Kendal is kind of adorable
Only kind of?
Hello, Hello hope everyone’s great.
TL;DR: Plant man and Cthulhu argue about who gets to judge Dr. J.
Gleicann and Life are angry, that doctor screwed up BIG TIME!
Guys, I just realized that the primordials sealed away the void dragon with the power of friendship.
erin’s eyes in that first panel are too much! XD
Alt text: you can’t mean… the power of friendship?! inconceivable!

Erin: So, if Life is alive. . .
Vidi: Shut uuuup
Erin: Then The Void Dragon-
Vidi: SHUUUUUT UUUUUUP!!

It’s interesting how Gleicann is solidly unbothered by the appearance of Life, like they’re an old freind.
