Jolon. You may get away with making chimeras, you may get away with stealing Erin’s magic, but attacking Alinua? … You shouldn’t have done that.
Jolon’s mannerisms are eerily similar to that of the Collector, calmness, mild surprise, still polite. I don’t think the two are related or aligned but I do see Kendal being particularly disturbed by it all, especially after this.
Interesting that Jolon can command them so easily just by name and no further instructions, wonder how that works.
Once again the magic nuke is flying in the air. Where will it land? Will it break? Will Falst try to grab it again?
ALINUA. Red, why must you make us suffer in this way.
Then again Alinua can basically come back from the dead like when the void dragon attacked her. Now I think Jolon is in trouble. He has just made Kendal mad and I don’t think any amount of hugs will pull him to the side of good. Something tells me that he won’t come out of this looking too good, at all. I have so many questions. But mainly WHY RED WHY. Will the lacrima break. Will Falst join the group.
I’m gonna make an educated guess that Aliuna just lost a left eye.
1. Look at the second-to-last panel. There is no way those claws are pointed anywhere else besides the face, and those claws are coming in on her left.
2. In the last panel, we see that Aliuna is drawn with her face hidden, and the blood appears to be flying out from that area.
Or it’s all just overanalysis. We’ll see.
I was re reading the last three chapters I noticed something; she did heal Kendal’s eardrums on page 8-22, so she can probably regrow an eye no problem.
Regrowing an entire body part, especially one as complicated as an eye, I imagine, is extremely painstaking in this universe and doesn’t always work. Red has talked about it on the tumblr.
I think she’s just going to be scarier, as it doesn’t seem as though Life has fully possessed Alinua, i.e. taken control of her mind and body, Void Dragon style. Life seems to just be hitching a ride in the back of Alinua’s mind and soul.
Plus, this isn’t the first time this has happened; Life’s voice could also be heard under Alinua’s when Alinua said “Kendal?”, after waking up from her dream in the last chapter.
I’m placing my bets now — if that one chimera Alinua healed earlier doesn’t come back to save the day, I will buy a hat for the sole purpose of eating it.
Rampant theorizing time. What if the same thing happens to Alinua as it did to Aziraphale in Good Omens? Because when Aziraphale’s body was killed, his spirit still existed, just less powerful. I just imagine Alinua getting very hurt, then Life taking over and being like, you ain’t gonna die, so she stays in spirit, and then Life crafts a new body/incarnates to keep Alinua alive, and then maybe she eventually returns to her own body.I feel bad for Kendall if this happens though.
I can’t get over Erin’s expression in the last frame. And Falst’s in the fifth.
Yes but what about Falst’s in the last panel, it’s like a ‘and that was the scariest one too’
That’ll hurt… maybe the gentlemen in the backrow might start with the action, don’t let Alinua do everything alone!

Falst’s reaction to Alinua’s use of the lacrima is the most interesting on this slide. Does he fear it will be used up?
Yeah, that’s his stake in the fight. Doesn’t help that she tried to purposefully waste its charge earlier.
Well, she can probably recharge it when she’s done with his toy
ALINUA NO
Alinua YES
Don’t worry, I’m sure she can grin and bear it. And if not Jolon IS a doctor.

ALINUA NO
Uh oh…
Oh, it’s fine. She just needs to drink some water.
Red, how could you.
Blood on Alinua?!!
Yeah, it doesn’t match the rest of her green imagery AT ALL. I mean, what was red thinking?
*Screaming and crying into the abyss*

It is bad that Alinua was attacked and all, but seeing her with an eyepatch or a big face scar would be dope.
I was re reading the last three chapters I noticed something; she did heal Kendal’s eardrums on page 8-22, so she can probably regrow an eye no problem.
So my bets are on possession by life like back in 1.7.11 when she was attacked by a VD possessed Erin
That actually a very good idea but my bets are on Kendal getting a ‘you hurt my friend and now you must pay’ type of thing
Someone will pay!! (And it’s going to be Jolon)
Also am I the only one thinking about how awesome Alinua’s hair is in panel 6. That is a level of floofiness all in it’s own.
OH SHIT! That looks like it could have taken an eye!
(I know Alinua could probably regrow it if she lost it, but still!)
Yeah that’s what I’m worried about too!
Regrowing an entire body part, especially one as complicated as an eye, I imagine, is extremely painstaking in this universe and doesn’t always work. Red has talked about it on the tumblr.
but, life primordial.
So uh… if Kendal could uh… Hulk out with his secret god powers, that’d be great.
When she said “YOU”, Life’s voice could be faintly heard beneath her own. Look closely at the speech bubble’s pointers there.
OH I didn’t see that. Do you think it’s going to be another full-on possesion? Or is she just gonna be a little more scary?
I think she’s just going to be scarier, as it doesn’t seem as though Life has fully possessed Alinua, i.e. taken control of her mind and body, Void Dragon style. Life seems to just be hitching a ride in the back of Alinua’s mind and soul.

Interesting, two voices feeding into the same speech bubble. I swear if the life primordial comes out now… Oh boy, Jolon’s in trouble.
Ohh, good catch! Jolon has pissed of a primordial being, that could override the spelleater.
I expect Dr. Jolon’s reaction to Alinua’s inevitable recovery to be, “How are you alive? I had a chimeric bear punch you in the face.”
Alternatively, he’s going to try to do the evil pokemon master equivalent of double tapping her, and it will be up to our heroes to stop that.
I’m placing my bets now — if that one chimera Alinua healed earlier doesn’t come back to save the day, I will buy a hat for the sole purpose of eating it.
She didn’t heal it. She put it out of it’s misery and mercy killed it.
no eye 4 u hehe
Wait whose Gales?
Galdr is one of the monsters i guess
I still think Jolon’s snek boi is kinda precious…
GET HIS ASS
At first I thought the chimera separated Alinua in half. Thank god it was only a very hard punch.
… I want a rainbow dragon snake. Please?
You’re the only person to have mentioned the snake. The snake is cool as hell. I also want a rainbow dragon snake
Considering the cover of the chapter, I am absolutely certain the lacrima will land harmlessly, in one piece.
Oh that’s a lot of blood 0_0
Healer down! Healer down!
Rampant theorizing time. What if the same thing happens to Alinua as it did to Aziraphale in Good Omens? Because when Aziraphale’s body was killed, his spirit still existed, just less powerful. WAS ANYBODY INJURED?
-Dr Jolon
Oh, nobody? I can fix that.
-Dr Jolon, probably
TL;DR: Pink floof vs Dr. J, fight! Dr. J wins by OHKO!
All the villains are so polite and formal and I find it way more amusing than is reasonable
AAaahh i don’t like seeing Alinua hurt even tho she can just heal back to full as long as she’s conscious.
Why do all the villans have to be some lovable?
