Ever since Erin joined Alinua and Kendal he’s been learning all sorts of new exciting things! So much for the Academy being the hub of knowledge and research; these two are where it’s at!
I’m reminded of when Alinua tearfully told him her tragic backstory, and his first response was “That… is fascinating.” Because why let little trifles like empathy or morality get in the way of the pursuit of knowledge? (Now that I think about it, Erin’s a bit of a mad scientist)
Yes, Erin is pretty Frankenstein-y, except he’s Frankenstein with potential for (and the beginnings of) a character arc. The way Red draws Frankenstein, they even look similar–ignoring, of course, the way Victor’s hair gets progressively grayer. Gosh I love that video. Probably one of my favorite (non-trope-talk) OSP videos.
Ah good, they’re talking. Now Lion-boi, please keep talking like a good kitty and don’t try and use the lull to grab the lacrima.
Yeah, Falst, if centuries of mages with tons of funding and research on the matter couldn’t cure the Ferin curse what makes you think you can? Unless you know something about the Ferin curse or the mage who started it that others don’t (a possibility I’ve only just realised and am not ruling out), that crystal is going to do more harm than good.
On the art side, amazing light show and Ali’s “wait what?” face is amazing combined with it. Everyone’s expressions are great this page.
Prediction for next week: Falst is going to explain he wants the lacrima to cure himself and Erin “The Expositioner” Ruunaser will then explain, to his knowledge at least, why that isn’t possible.
Dr. Jolon is a trained medical professional and life mage. He explained that he effectively used the lacrima as a battery for more major operations, when he couldn’t safely channel enough magic himself.
The problem is that Falst is untrained, noone really knows what he’s doing, and he has ‘partially inscribed’ a spell onto the lacrima, according to Gleicann. He’s effectively added a fuse to a very dangerous bomb, and if Kendal or Gleicann (and maybe anyone other than the magically-inert Falst, or the life-magic-trained Alinua, Erin, and Dr. Jolon) even touch the lacrima, they’ll be instantly corrupted and mutated into chimerae by the sheer intensity of life magic in the lacrima.
The Floof Squad believed that Falst was using the lacrima as a weapon, to produce chimerae or to destroy the town, and now they’re defusing the bomb the only way they know how. SMASHING IT. I mean, siphoning the life magic out safely AND THEN SMASHING IT.
Now they need to hug and say sorry to one another, and continue on the JOURNEY TO THE W- (cough) sorry, (cough) I mean, FIND VASH, DESTROY VD, AND SAVE THE WORLD!!!!
Oh wow. Falst went through all that trouble, just to be human? I feel really bad that people were so racist they made Falst want to give up his cool superpowers just to be able to have financial problems, farm, and work all day as a human.
Where the heck is the doctor? Why does he even have a lacrima capable of turning animals human? Why hasn’t he shown up yet? He’s had plenty of time to rush over.
From Erin’s reaction, I’m guessing lacrimas don’t work like that.
Even better: there’s no precedent for lacrimas working like that. Erin is willing to listen now. And take notes.

Finally someone else who recognizes Erin’s nerdiness!

BREAKING NEWS: ERIN RUUNASER HAS FRANKENSTEIN VIBES
To Patroclus77’s response: How DARE you compare pompous nitwit to that irredeemable asshole!!
Yeah! He’s CLEARLY Dr. Jekyll.
I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I’m just calling it how I see it.

You have to really zoom in, but his expression in amazing.
Loving Alinua’s divine “did I hear that correctly?” look at the camera.
We were correct! Also Alinua’s wait wut faces is amazing
And most likely immediately afterwards the lacrima breaks
And with the power of friendship they join together to fight off the monster they end up creating
Syyyymbolism
*Rainbow effects* sYMMMbolism
Another of those “what” moments xD
Also yay for the decoders.
Freaking finally

Good old Erin, once again taking the responsibility to tell people that their plans are stupid
Well, someone has to do it, and Erin is privileged to take this heavy responsibility on so that others do not have to strain under the burden.
Ooo we gunna start talking? Woo talking XD Fight scenes are awesome but I want friendship XD
I agree, I want the suffering here to stop already; save the wrath for The Collector
OH.
On the character page, Falst is no longer an antagonist. Does this mean we’re getting a new party member?
OMG HE’S NOT AN ANTAGONIST IM SO EXCITED
Pretty sure I’ve seen my cat make that exact expression in the first panel
Yay! The change himself to a human theory was right!
Hell yeah! Good job, everyone
And your name is incredibly appropriate!
You have to really zoom in, but Erin’s expression is amazing.
I FUCKING CALLED IT
The truth FINALLY comes out!
I’m starting to feel really bad for Falst.
Okay, somebody help me out here: I thought Doc Jolon owned the crystal before and used it for heal-y-dealys. Why do they need to destroy it?

Hey Varda where you at?
I was lurking 😉
Y’all are giving attention to Erin’s and Alinua’s expressions, but sleeping on Kendal’s face in panel four
Panels six and seven are also good
Now they need to hug and say sorry to one another, and continue on the JOURNEY TO THE W- (cough) sorry, (cough) I mean, FIND VASH, DESTROY VD, AND SAVE THE WORLD!!!!
If you look closely at Erin’s map it’s actually a … journey to the East ?
*badumtss*
I guess the real ferin cure was the friends we made along the way
Holy sh*t, that actually works here
That WHAT?! gives me life
“WHAT?!”
Translation: “THAT’S what we were fighting about? Why didn’t you just SAY s- oh…”
Oh wow. Falst went through all that trouble, just to be human? I feel really bad that people were so racist they made Falst want to give up his cool superpowers just to be able to have financial problems, farm, and work all day as a human.
Alinua: So do I like keep doing this or what
I never thought I’d be saying this, but I can’t wait for Monday.
Hold up. If Falst is using the lacrima to be a hooman where are the chimeras coming from.
Maybe he experimented in turning animals human? I don’t think it’s likely but…
That only leaves one person…
*DUN DUN DUUUN*
The good doctor has some explaining to do when he arrives…
No you fool, the other known life mage!
Falst looks so desperate in the first panel.
Erin propably thinks that if there was a cure, than the acadamy would have already found it. I doubt he has much faith in a radom lion-caveman.
Where the heck is the doctor? Why does he even have a lacrima capable of turning animals human? Why hasn’t he shown up yet? He’s had plenty of time to rush over.
Doc seems kinda sus
WAIT IS JOLIN SECRETLY EVIL?!?!?
TL;DR: Cursed floof asks nicely, it’s super effective!
Poor Falst… he needs friends who accept him for who he is.
