Then her body jerks, eyes widening, as Vash lunges forward and stabs his sword straight through her heart. He looks back at his city. “No!” he cries as the rock continues to move.
Then he looks down in surprise as the woman moves her arm and stabs him in the stomach with a black dagger. He stumbles backwards, hand going to the bleeding wound, and the sword slides out of her chest. There is only a dark hole there, no blood, the woman seemingly unharmed.
What are you talking about? That’s the sound I heard all the times before when I stabbed a magic soul taking plant lady. Maybe your sword needs sharpening?

Vash did the same mistake as Thor: don’t go for the guts, just go for the head. Decapitations are a lot harder to shrug off than a sword to the guts.
