Beautiful, but still confusing. Red, it’s an interesting change for yoou. I like it, and the other comments are fun. Thanks for the beauty, and for inspiring comedy.
My baseless speculation as to what’s happening in this page and the following ones: the Twins were either made or influenced by VD to create the Elder Races to give him a host. Here he finds an elemental magus, one he can control to get him out of his prison, but something gives it a spark – judging by the fact that all of their eyes go bright when they were previously black and formless, I’m going to assume whatever this spark was was a soul. Notably, the color of this spark is blue and white, which matches up with the Paladin’s view of the light dragon battling the dark – and it kind of matches up with their mythos, too. In addition, when VD possesses Erin down in the caves, he mentions his “Other” who impeded his plans to just have humans as a key to free him – awaking their wills. Also I’m pretty sure the Other talked to Tess once.
This really does make it seem like the Paladins are mostly right. But I don’t think that’s the whole story, since if it was why would the Paladins be a fringe cult? For some reason, the existence of the white dragon is not provable – maybe because it has no physical influence on the world, unlike the primordials & VD? No idea. But hey, I’m excited to see where this story goes.
Wait, when did the Other talk to Tess? Maybe I just forgot about that happening, but…Ohhhhh. OHHhH. When she was fighting that dragon in the wasteland left by the lightning(?) Section of The Storm.
Also, I think that was The Lady talking to the dragon Tess was fighting, not Tess.
the light dragon aka the sun (according to wackjob theories) is the 8th (really 1st. thanks wackjob theories) primordial: soul. unlike most known primordials (stone, lightning, wind, water, fire) theyre still alive. this in itself doesnt explain everything, as both life and void are also alive. unlike life and void, however, soul is free. most other primordials are trapped within a caje (or cajes), life being contained in, well, life and void being contained within stones center. these prisons prevent life and void from exerting their full power, as a vessel outside the prison would be required to influence the outer world.
this is where the sun comes in. if soul aka the light dragon is actually the sun then it explains the existance of soulfire, and why majes cant influence soul. majes are able to influence the vesselless primordials (stone, lightning, wind, fire, water, life) but not those with vessels, such as void. if souls vessel is the sun, which can be explained by soulfire, then why would a maje be able to influence soul without special permission?
in short, michael is probably capable of influencing souls like alinua influences life, tess influences lightning, or dainix influences fir-
Prepare for Trouble: alright, here’s the new intern
Eldritch Satan: ooooooo, magic
Make it Double: see, he works
Shonen Protagonist Power: pst, kid, you’ve ever heard of worker’s rights
Jesus but he’s the Avatar: let’s unionize
Concil of the Nobodies: heck yeh dude! Union, union, UNION
Prepare for Trouble: this is your fault
Make it Double: is not
Eldritch Satan: it’s both y’all’s fault!
TL;DR: Enter Jesus 2.0. God’s hand slips, accidentally breaking the new Jesus.
alt-text: This is going to be a very glowy comic, isn’t it?
In other news, several dozen elves were found frozen to death in the far north. It seems they had been standing naked in the show.
Investigators theorize that they had gathered to watch the northern lights, apparently under the impression that the glow would keep them warm.
Elves.
Lol!

Red is this possibly the first Elemental Magus?

What are any of the elves and Ancients in the background even standing on? How are they not falling? Does gravity just not exist yet?
Anyone else notice the glowy eye effect of panel 7 is the same as Vash’s glowy eyes? Does this mean something… Important?
Someone should wish him a happy birthday.
