I wonder what will Calian do this time? I don’t think he’ll run away but he probably still won’t be able to hit Dainix. Worst posibility for Erin is that Calian won’t stop trying to get to Erin despite Dainix attacking Calian.
I’m going to go out on a limb here, and guess that Erin is in a wee spot of trouble.

You’re right Calian, you didn’t fail! That statement, in the past tense, implies at some point you stopped; your failure is still ongoing.
Oh I love that first panel. Not just the cracking texture of the SFX, but the different coloured and sharpened cracks in the ice implying depth and size; really evokes those dull, deep cracking sounds you get from glaciers. Good expression work on both Crucible Dainix and Calian these last pages too.
V.D. probably thinks Calian is doing this out of draconic pride not letting them leave their mission in failure; Monday’s page however gives me the impression they’re genuinely fearful about whatever punishment Stefan could hand down. Whatever the reason, Calian’s panicked digging is likely going to be for naught.
Prediction for next week: on Monday’s page Calian sported some injuries from Dainix, and I reckon this attack will result in more than just extra burns; Calian will retreat, and much worse for wear. The main question I have is how their digging and Dainix’s attack has affected Erin’s bubble.
Hmm, both Vros and Calian might be out for a while; that could allow for the gang to travel underwater safely and discretely.
“Your failure is still ongoing” is an absolutely brutal line. And extremely apt!
The paladin’s lack of information here is REALLY hurting them here. They are more likely to doom the world on their current path than to save it. From what I can tell Calain is more likely to knock Erin out for the dragon than to kill Erin.
I almost hope that the dragon does break free a little, and the only reason Calain and the world doesn’t die is because Dainix transmutes the hell out of void. Some sort of lesson that attacking Erin is BAD and helps VOIDY and the party members have some CLUE of what they are doing.
I understand the goal is to kill the vessel, but if you can’t kill the vessel, and you just weaken it, you help the enemy.
I won’t worry about the boss music until the chord changes unless it changes key.
