Ooh, I can practically hear that dull iceberg creaking sounds you get from glaciers in the first panel. However, that leak is a dangerous reminder that this dragon-breath ice is made for offensive power, not longevity; it may be breaking apart in other sections too, further complicating matters.
Hate to say it but V.D. has a point. Dainix may be too single minded to even allow Calian to retreat, let along calm down and reunite with Erin in a way that doesn’t destroy the ice. If I had to guess, I’d say V.D. is going to offer to possess/kill that dragon, which Erin will turn down; he’s cold and tired, but Erin’s brain is still working, as his logical reasoning here shows.
I’m sure Voidy can get Erin out. Mhm. And then he can cling to control of the body and make a run for the nearest Singing Caves entrance, wherever that is. This interaction is so good and interesting, though. V.D. must be desperate to keep Erin alive, since he’s their key to getting out of the adamant prison. If Erin dies, Voidy would have to finagle another trap, wait for another elemental magus, spend however many more hundreds or thousands of years stuck with no enrichment…
I also very much enjoyed the dialogue and Erin’s sarcastic, “That’s so wonderful for you.” xD

Of course, if the void dragon did get him out, he’d immediately become the highest priority target for said “mindless monster”
