listen sometimes you can’t fly but you can explode and if you’re creative about how you explode you can sort of fly and that is how we put a man on the moon

kendal lock in
It seems a certain reptilian fellow just reached the “finding out” stage.
rocket-propelled kendal
Kendal channeling his inner Tess in that last panel
hey, so now we know that Kendal can use starfire to Bakugo himself over to places! But can he make many explosions at once…
also I wonder if this would be practical for longer distances if the starfire is primarily coming from the sword. I feel like it would be pretty easy to get unbalanced since the force is just on one side. Over short distances, maybe his trajectory would even curve a bit? My knowledge about physics is pretty limited, but i think something that would be hard to sustain. I think the way Kendal angles himself in panel 4 is probably to make him more aerodynamic, which is a really cool detail for Red to add!
The water dragons are very reminiscent of those videos of orcas punting seals into the air with their tails, or otherwise bullying their prey until it gets exhausted. Except, of course, they’re merciful enough not to hunt in packs.
Starfire power! To the Moon and beyond!
Classic fighting game Dash move there Kendal!! They should put you in Smash Bros!
That would be awesome!
“Well yes, I don’t have dash yet, but if I Vengeful Spirit the air, I can push myself just fine.”
Kendal doing fireball skips, speedrun strats!
okay this companion text is unspeakably funny
For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. Boom goes one way, Kendal goes the other.
Also, I am amused that one of the people in my Discord posted this image with almost no context because he wanted to talk about how cool Kendal was. He hadn’t realized I was a reader already.
YES KENDAL FUCK EM UP!!!!
Superman-style flying with the knee up. Looks dynamic in comics, but stupid in movies.
Gods that last panel is gorgeous! Sooo glowie.
Also I just learned that the pages come out at like 1:30 for me.
Yay!
Vros: WHAT?! How are you launching yourself like that?!
Kendal: A weapon’s efficiency as a reaction drive is in direct proportion to its efficiency as a weapon.
Vros: Ah yes, the Itnizk lesson.
Looks like Kendal is using starfire to launch himself at Vros; you can see his glowing figure in the middle of the final panel. Kendal is not only becoming more comfortable and adept at using starfire attacks, but is also stating to use them imaginatively; a good idea as he can’t draw on it to the same extremes as Vash.
Now, is Kendal going to attack Vros with a sword strike amplified by starfire, release a sword beam at point-blank range, or just hit into them really hard?
The best part about this is that Vros knew Kendal was the one who beat Tam, thus knew they were powerful, yet still insisted on play-fighting with him, solo, while on one of the most important missions of their life. When Stefan eventually comes calling, they’ll have no excuse for why they lost.
