Wait, we can translate these? I’m not surprised considering it’s Red, but is there a key somewhere or is there a linguist in the audience that figured out how to translate it?
It’s not like its own language, but Aurora has two unique alphabets (the runic one and the ancient one). Some folks in the fandom cracked the translation a while back but there’s no official key to my knowledge. You can find the fan-made key on the Aurora Wiki.
A”Crack” SFX? On the side of good? It’s more likely than you think.
Ouch, that attack that knocked him into the wall wasn’t treated, and it shows. Shows the consequences of Falst choosing to suffer alone rather than go to Alinua for help; I hope she chews him out about it while she heals him.
This does raise a concerning possibility that, while this could make an exit for them (emphasis on the ‘could’), neither could be in the state to use it. Falst is barely crawling right now, and Dainix is one more trauma vision away from mindless attacking ala Falst in 1-21-16 fighting the cave crawlers.
Anonymous Aurora Question #11: Who of the others do you think will be the most mad at Falst for not asking Ali for help/spellcarving without safety measures? And how mad will Erin be at Tess for not staying at the base camp with Kendall?
Erin, without a doubt. He’s the one most well-versed in magic, plus he’s also a healer, Falst could have gone to him as well. He’s also going to be very mad at Tess, but begrudgingly admit his slip, because Tess is good at sibling rules lawyering.
Alinua will definitely be mad at him for not asking for healing, but Erin I think will be most mad about the spellcarving.
Ali will definitely be mad at Kendal for going out into danger AGAIN, but I’m not sure about Tess.
This is true, and I think how it affects his response will show his stage in character development. I think the Erin we first meet would have still been very upset and I think this one will basically be waiting for them to show up.
Since I have no idea how successful he will be, I’m kind of projecting my own surprise on the characters: the surprise at whatever he pulled off will overpower initial anger.
Thank you for sharing your insight today @Matt! I like your couplet as always @Ongoing! My second look at panel one was when I saw the big bruise on Falst’s right side. He appears to have trouble moving so in true tough guy machismo decides to just fall hard on his left side to get to the ground but carefully holds the orb up until panel six where Falst gently touches the orb to the ground and activates the spell, stubborn fool of a Took! (to borrow a phrase from a certain graybeard character I like)
Literally me, out loud, while reading this page:
Oh NO!
…
Oh YES!
Crossing my fingers that our favorite catboi is okay, though. Also WOW I haven’t commented in a while. This is fine.
Well that’s not good. But it looks like with this resolved, the only outstanding piece of buildup/plot thread left to resolve is floof gang getting there, which means that I think them getting here is due to happen any page now, as is Dainix losing control if that’s a plot point that will happen (when the camera cuts back to him).
For mobile readers.

Okay, time for some “normal” rune deciphering.
Falst has carved the following words on the lacrima: “KUAKE” (quake), “BREAK”, “FAULT” and “SPL[?]” (qhich I think is supposed to be “split”).
There’s no way that could go wrong!
Seeing as how he need to make a way out, I think it’ll go quite well.

I’m pretty sure people on the Aurora discord deciphered it a while back
Yep! Someone translated the whole alphabet awhile ago. Its on the auroura tumblr

Evil Tree from comment section of hit comment Castoff
That’s me.
Falst falls, the runes are now complete
But will this then prevent defeat?
Erin better get there soon, or Falst and Dainix are in big trouble. Also, it’s my birthday 😀
Wow, fist time I’m up at this hour to see a new page come out.
Oh, I thought he was trying to reactivate the array in the hopes that it was a containment field. That’s actually way smarter than my idea.

Erin, obviously. Tho I don’t think he’ll be remotely suprised by the Tess thing

Hope that’s not going to spread to the ceiling, Ailuna and Erin are already seriously messing with the structural integrity of what’s above them.

YIPPEE
How many cave crawlers are behind that wall?
…Probably not that many haaaaaaa
Oh no! This one posted today meaning… I’m finally caught up. What a travesty, I can’t binge this comic one chapter at a time anymore
In other news, guess knowing life runes WAS close enough
TL;DR: Catboy drops the ball (and probably gets even more bruised).
Is Falst okay though.
Signs suggest no
Bunch of self-sacrificing idiots, I love them

Welcome back.
Damn. I guess it’s not rpg rules. You can’t actually keep taking actions at 1 HP.
