At last dog boy is freed and falls down to the ground
Slightly concerned at the lacrima Falst waves around
I’m sorry, did you just call Dainix a dog boy? Is it because he’s a foil for Falst, or what?
Basically we decided dainix was a labrador a few pages back
Yeah I was thinking about that one. But @Kardaga:s explanation works too!
I love how I just mentioned he was a labrador a couple of times and now it’s a whole thing.
Aurora Question #25: I only just noticed the sound effects match a characters colour motif. Neat.
No question today I’m too tired
Then I’ll ask you a question instead. How was your day today?
It was pretty good. How was yours?
Also good.
My day so far has been okay. Not good, not bad, just… Okay.
I am tired ?
Answering very late, but fine. Kinda tired. Currently binge-writing Aurora pages by hitting the ‘Random Page’ button cause I want to. I’ve done like 10 so far lol
And now I have at least one page for most of the chapters! I don’t have pages for 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, or 19, but I do for all the… 27… minus 6… 21 other chapters!
LMAOOOO get dissected idiot
Considering our vision loses the ability to see bright colors as light levels drop, desaturation is pretty much the correct way to handle darkness in a scene…and you did a great job of making everything seem suitably dark.
Question for everyone: Which one is Zuko in this lifechanging field trip?
Falst because both have angst to work through.
Tho people might pick dainix cause both have fire powers and a scar over/is missing an eye
both
nah false is totally zuko here. and softboi dainix is aang
Dainx is Zuko in appearance (bad eye, ponytail, fire powers, etc)
Falst is Zuko in spirit (angst, sarcasm, angst, no scruples, oh did i mention angst, etc)

oops, just realized this posted twice sorry~
A new aurora page got to be the best birthday gift I’ve gotten today.
Hope your birthday was a good one!
Happy Birthday!
I want to eat the lacrima. It looks tasty
~Happy Birthday~
Yes Dainix, it was thinking “I should kill this magic fella”.
Besides, didn’t you stab its heart by that logic last chapter?
*backstab it in the heart, to be more precise
well, as an intellectual (like Dainix), we can safely say that a metal robot cannot feel, even if it can think. so pulling out it’s brain is a greater injury than stabbing it through the heart, which neither feels pain or sustains life (assuming the brain lacrima is an independent device) (yes I am calling it a “brain lacrimal”) (this comment is meant as satire, please do not take offence from my faux-condescending)
I’ve heard of picking someone’s brain, but this is ridiculous!
Oh yeah, Dainix didn’t see the crawler, did he? And from Falst’s reaction to it, I don’t see him telling Dainix anymore than what’s needed. I wonder whether the main danger to them are crawlers or more automatons.
Dainix’s words make me wonder what Ignans think of automatons. From lore bites on the tumblr and the Three Elder Races extra lore page, Ignans encounter dangerous Ancient machines sometimes and have to combat them. But Dainix here seems hesitant to mutilate the robot to this degree; is that just his opinion, or do all Ignans refrain from damaging them more than they have to?
From my perspective and reading, when Ignans have come across ancient active automatons in past it had lead to trouble (as hinted in the translation of what the robot said when it first encountered Dainix and Falst in Red’s story. So Ignans could had have many nasty encounters in the past with automatons making them cautious around those machines in general. Falst on the other hand is more pragmatic and smarter about magic then others (in story) give credit to him, as seen when the story introduced us to Falst (which I still enjoy re-reading!). Again my thanks to those with the moxie (AKA ‘smarts’ who don’t use Yiddish) and the graciousness to share on this forum.
I think you’re right; it’s probably the case that Dainix is being cautious with machinery that he knows can be very dangerous. Falst is being practical about it; the risk of something going wrong is worth it to get some light so Dainix can fight properly. But, while he’s knowledgable about lacrimas, I feel Falst thinking it’s “just a lacrima” may be a little too basic for what may be an Ancient computer.
especially since that Ancient computer might actually be a “soul lacrima” which necessarily suggests the existence of a soul in the automaton. a veritable ghost in the machine, you could say
Hmmm, I smell plot complications!
Many have pondered the orb
But few have asked
Does the Orb ponder back?
DOES THE ORB PONDER BACK JHAHJHHAHJSHSJHJH I DIED
A lacrima? Robots are tears? I wonder what kind of eye would cry robots.
Heh imagine being created by an ancient and technologically advanced race as a powerful guardian being and then oops their society fell apart so now sit in the dirt and accumulate rust for a thousand years, then get easily defeated and USED AS A NIGHTLIGHT lol couldn’t be you
Ok so I don’t have a lot of time, but here goes hhh
So, when Dainix stabbed the robot a while ago, breaking the lightning lacrima, that effectively rendered its body useless- I think that was the power source for the whole thing, with only the processing center/brain/soul lacrima being self-contained. I think unless that lacrima gets destroyed as well, the brain would still be functional and yes, it could think. I wonder if the functions of the soul lacrima extend to communicating with other soul lacrimas or maybe that’s just a wind thing? I think the worst it could do is maybe summon more half-dead automata to come attack, this thing isn’t going anywhere anytime soon lol
but the real question is: can you bowl with it
Nice! I wonder what would Erin do if he got his curious hands on it?
only one way to find out
Dainix has played a couple of those “AI becomes sentient” games and knows a thing or two about this subject.
i want fanart on my desk by friday
Dainix says AI rights! That robot didn’t seem to be sentient, but it’s a nice sentiment on Dainix’s part.
TL;DR: Morality is complicated, but finding light in a dark room where a robot with glowing parts crashed isn’t.
notes for Red:
– Dainix personality is too OP, top tier soft boi
– pls don’t nerf
Ah, a fellow Dainix enjoyer
Who here isn’t a Dainix enjoyer, honestly?
(Besides Falst.)the best boi
that brain is looking alot like an egg. 10/10 would cronch
as a brit, the idea of a stark white egg is confusing to me, but I know America has them
That lacrima looks so cronchable. Like a crimmus ornament/egg. 10/10 would cronch
that lacrikma is really pretty, bright lights for the win.
If they start throwing up and losing hair, you k ow what to blame.
Just saying. If I found a magical glowing orb, I would back away ASAP.
Especially if it was in a terrifying immortal robot.
I am pretty sure Dainix would agree with you!
How y’all feel about green beans?
Delicious with butter
Every time we get new dialogue from Falst, I fall in love with our grumpy, fuzzy cat-boy all over again.
Oh, I really like how we can see them in the darkness because it’s Falst’s POV, and poor Dainix can’t see anything!
Falst: Gods, kids these days, always with their complaining
