Actually that’s a pretty good idea. I mean sure Tynan now knows that Vash can come back whenever he wants but still. Should probably be a wonderful blow to the ego that a “mere mortal” was the one to “kill” him
Falst: Yeah sure, kill him
Alinua: Not so fast. Let’s all think of what Kendal would want.
Erin: YOU want ME to consider the feelings of OTHER PEOPLE!?!
Vash, buddy, dude, *my guy*, City boy, you are being way too cavalier for someone trapped in a cave by a batshit cultist while possessing the body of a person who NEEDS TO LEARN THAT THEY MATTER DAMN IT!
The sword moon hangs baleful in the clearing sky,
A thin slice of red held up high,
As the crowds below see starfire rise,
And burn the clouds from the sky.
Vash “hm”s as the disintegration leaves a humanoid Tynan.
“Any of you want to finish him off?”
He asks knowing a death by mortal hands
Will teach Tynan a lesson more sure.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Vash is great.
Also, theory: vash coming back is either A: non-permanant, and Kendal will be back in a couple of irl-months, or B: Vash is permanant, but Kendal isn’t gone- he is now a talking sword.
Dainix, that’s your cue.
Beautiful first panel, the starfire parting the clouds and lightning to reveal starry skies, Alinua’s tree now fully visible to all, Erin’s snow STILL in effect over the city, and the myriad of people watching the spectacle. Beautiful visuals and continuity going hand in hand.
The people of Zuurith can see everything now. Their city including the arena is greatly damaged, the prison cracked open and wrecked potentially beyond repair, and Vash, sworn enemy of Zuurith himself, was the one who saved them. I don’t know about the long term, but in the short term, the city of Zuurith will need to do some adapting, or at least self-reflection.
Vash makes a good point, I willing to bet he’d have been happy if Erin’s initial plan worked out; free mortals banding together to defeat a higher power sounds like something he’d love. The fact we haven’t seen Dainix lately makes me think he’ll be the one to perform the final blow; his last triumphant fight in front of the populace of Zuurith, and they’d better cheer him on.
Nice wordplay. Generally speaking, once one has been “finished off” there’s no more value to the “lessons learned”. But if course, we don’t expect Tynan to actually die.
Perhaps if he does learn his lesson, Tynan should quit the wandering conqueror act and start up a travelling circus. He certainly knows how to play a crowd well enough for it.
The metaphysics and fear eating aspects of it is all one thing but all I’m saying is that it would have gone much better for him, as a person, if he had dropped the carnivore shtick, and become a carnie.
Of course the administration cathedral is undamaged. The arena is crumbling, the prison has been split open, 60% of the houses are rubble, and the glow of the archive’s shield is nowhere to be seen, but Zuurith’s f*cking throne room is undamaged. I say the people should inverse-gentrify it and turn it into a homeless shelter and communal kitchen.
Everyone is saying that Dainix will be the one to finish Tynan’s incarnation off, but it looks like Dainix is taking a moment offscreen to try to cool down. Instead, I think Erin will be the one to take the offer. He is, in his own words, petty and vindictive, and Tynan forced him into a situation where he nearly killed himself in desperation, and subsequently got possessed by his new greatest nemesis. I wouldn’t be surprised if Erin was royally pissed at Tynan.
Question bag:
That wouldn’t work; Kendal and Falst don’t have a connection to any of the primordials, and Dainix and Tess, while they certainly have anomalous elemental powers, aren’t primordial avatars in the same way Alinua and Erin are. Plus, it’s been strongly hinted at that Life and The Two Dragons are the only living primordials in the world, so all of the others would be too dead to have avatars.
I just realized another possibility for finishing off Tynan’s incarnation; the group (minus Kendal) does an all-out attack, like that scene in The Last Airbender where five people combine all four types of bending and a boomerang in an effort to take down Azula. Alinua could choke him with vines, Erin could use any number of creative fatalities, Falst could slash at him (with his unbroken arm, I would hope), Tess could slug ‘im again, and Dainix would finally get to burn him. The symbolism of so many mortals working together to drive him off would really stew in Tynan’s mind, I think.
Honestly I kinda feel like the pooch has already been screwed on that one. While it might humiliate him to be killed by a mortal, he was ultimately defeated by Vash’s intervention.
Gods, I love Vash. He’s fantastic.
I can’t decide who I would want to finish Tynan off. I agree with @TheUnknownGame in that Erin would really want to take a shot, but I also really want to see Tess score up another against dragons (although Tynan isn’t a dragon at this point…), and Falst hasn’t done much in this fight against Tynan. While there’s poetry in them all finishing him off together, they all look much to tired to do that, or even care who gets the last hit.
I’m really worried about Dainix. we haven’t seen him for a few pages. Hopefully he’s practicing those breathing techniques Tahraim taught him, but I’m worried that might not be working…
The sky is very pretty.
Hmmm… I feel at least part of the motivation for this arc was an excuse for Red to draw all the pretty glowy effects in the fight scenes, whatever she says about the blue-on-blue.
Prettyyyyyyy (the visuals of the storm being pushed out by the blue and revealing the sky behind are GORGEOUS)
Anyways, regarding Vash’s whole “okay how about y’all killsteal from me” thing, I’m wondering how effective that would actually be.
I understand where he’s coming from with it (he does literally say it) in that if he just takes Tynan out like before, he’s still going to think that it’s only Vash that can beat him, so if a mortal finishes him off it’ll make more of an impact. But I feel like aside from “let’s shoot fire in the sky” and “Voidy 3: Now it’s personal” (Tess’ back-punch didn’t break any vital mechanisms or anything, and he seemed to shrug it off pretty quickly), it felts like it was basically just Vash who actually managed to tear him a new one, as opposed to the floof squad (not to diminish their efforts or underplay their success, they still did a dang good job against him, given that they’re against a god that has destroyed several cities. Getting the upper hand even once was an impressive feat, and would still probably be pretty ).
So I’m wondering if Tynan is really going to remember this as “my crushing defeat that shows that mortals working together aren’t helpless, so Vash wasn’t a fluke” and thus learn his lesson, as opposed to remembering “my second fight with Vash where he crushed me with practically zero effort and oh yeah, some mortals were there too, I guess”, if you get my drift. Like, I don’t think it’ll reinforce his ideology, but I’m not sure how much of a teardown it’ll be, since Vash still did the main beating-up part.
Idk what do you guys think? (also sorry if this is a bit of a wall of text)
Ohhhhhhh my gosh, this page is so beautiful. I think I’m more relieved to see the sky in this fictional universe than I have been after some literal hurricanes IRL, in no small part due to how absolutely gorgeous it is.
I think I have a new screensaver
Remember kids, sharing is caring!
For those reading this on mobile devices.
Alt-text: I’m sure he’s very sorry

Get his ass Falst, you can do it!
Actually that’s a pretty good idea. I mean sure Tynan now knows that Vash can come back whenever he wants but still. Should probably be a wonderful blow to the ego that a “mere mortal” was the one to “kill” him
Vash, buddy … you did beat Tynan. It wasn’t the others it was you, so… what are you talking about?
That plotline was a bit sad.
Falst: Yeah sure, kill him
Alinua: Not so fast. Let’s all think of what Kendal would want.
Erin: YOU want ME to consider the feelings of OTHER PEOPLE!?!
“no, no- I insist, it’ll be fine.
It’s not a kill-steal if I give you the OK.”
Falst will now take out his fury at being called fuzzy on a literal god.
Erin looks thoroughly shell-shocked
Vash, buddy, dude, *my guy*, City boy, you are being way too cavalier for someone trapped in a cave by a batshit cultist while possessing the body of a person who NEEDS TO LEARN THAT THEY MATTER DAMN IT!
Aright, this is heartwarming and all, but the real question is whether or not flameo hotman is going to join the floof squad

Do I spot Zuurith in the crowd there or is that just a rando with long hair?
I think Vash might be right.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Vash is great.
Also, theory: vash coming back is either A: non-permanant, and Kendal will be back in a couple of irl-months, or B: Vash is permanant, but Kendal isn’t gone- he is now a talking sword.
“An exile only works if you have the power to back it up.”
That is a very long term case of tempting fate.
The Collector shows up, finishes him off.
Dainix, that’s your cue.

He kind of is the only one that can beat him, otherwise theyd have done it already
Dogpile on the godpile!!
Step forward, Dainix.
I have a theory that there will be 8 protagonists representing the 8 primordials. What do you think?
To be fair, I’m not sure Tynan will be too convinced by that. Vash just did more to him in 2 pages than all others did in 2 chapters…
Cannot wait if this will become a Fire Emblem thing and Tynan joins the cast!
I honestly want him to join/
I love the person in the crowd who’s just a massive floof.
Good on Vash for making sure his student understands the lesson. He would be such a good teacher.
There once was a pompous storm god
Whose boastful, superior facade
Was broken by Vash.
Now all hope is dashed–
He’s about to face a firing squad.
Nice wordplay. Generally speaking, once one has been “finished off” there’s no more value to the “lessons learned”. But if course, we don’t expect Tynan to actually die.

Ah, Vash is such a gentleman.
What a sweet move
Vash is a delight <3
Also, the art depicting him. Shiny glowy god-ness has never been so snazzy!
And that first panel, what a delight to look at.
Yo! You over there! Hey,
Mind finishing of, if you may?
Okay here comes Dainix for sure this time.
Or Zuurith. Could go either way.
Suddenly I get where Kendal gets his own normally casual attitude, like father like (sort of) son I guess. I hope Kendal’s not dead
Of course the administration cathedral is undamaged. 1. *what* a punchline, that is incredibly funny and also delightful
2. Hey Tess you wanna punch a dragon
I just realized another possibility for finishing off Tynan’s incarnation; the group (minus Kendal) does an all-out attack, like that scene in The Last Airbender where five people combine all four types of bending and a boomerang in an effort to take down Azula. Ok Vash, now you’re just BMing your opponent.
Honestly I kinda feel like the pooch has already been screwed on that one. While it might humiliate him to be killed by a mortal, he was ultimately defeated by Vash’s intervention.
“Hey, there’s one slice of pie left, who wants it?”
“okay kiddos, I’ve done my job now /who wants to punch a god/?”
Vash was an important part of the balance of the biome and what the collector did by removing him was pretty clearly ecologically unfriendly.
Gods, I love Vash. He’s fantastic.

Uh, anyone concerned about the lunar eclipse and what that could mean? Might just be cool art, but Red is VERY detail-oriented…
i have nothing to say except THE SKY IS SO PRETTY
Wow, I forgot how beautiful the sky is
Says a lot about Vash that he prioritizes the long view over impressing people.
The sky is very pretty.
Hmmm… I feel at least part of the motivation for this arc was an excuse for Red to draw all the pretty glowy effects in the fight scenes, whatever she says about the blue-on-blue.
How do you want to do this?

If Tynan was a smidge less vehement about clinging to the last shred of his dignity he would probably curl into a ball and cry
Ohhhhhhh my gosh, this page is so beautiful. I think I’m more relieved to see the sky in this fictional universe than I have been after some literal hurricanes IRL, in no small part due to how absolutely gorgeous it is.
I think I have a new screensaver
Vash is a jolly cooperator, solos the boss but lets everone take a swipe so they can share the loot and exp.
Vash just needs to wear a jar on his head and wield a second sword.
“They could never have defeated me without Vash, this lesson doesn’t count!”
“Oh f*k off dude.”
1. HAHAHA
2. these pages are SO PRETTY OMG
I love Vash’s little “hol up, anyone else want to get in on this?”
I just noticed this red moon. Was the moon like this before? I
t scares me…
@Ganonphile I think that’s just supposed to be a crescent moon, because the second moon (Sword) is red. https://comicaurora.com/the-calendar/
I still think there is a couple of beats left before the coda…
TL;DR: You guys wanna teach him a lesson?
Or, when the boss fight is a team battle and one member pretty much does it alone.
Vash is very humourous to me
the blood moon rising
Wow just wow
i had forgotten about aurora now im rereading and this whole fight is so pretty
